The UFC is back in Mexico City. This Saturday, the UFC returns Arena CDMX for another fight card in Mexico's capital city, headlined by a flyweight matchup between former two-time champion Brandon Moreno and rising contender Lone'er Kavanagh. Moreno was originally set to fight Asu Almabayev, but after Almabayev pulled out of the event on just a few weeks' notice, Kavanagh was pulled from his scheduled bout against Bruno Silva to step in, creating an unexpected main event, and No Bets Barred is here to break it all down. This week, host Jed Meshew flies solo to dive into all the action at this weekend's event. Topics discussed include where Moreno is in his career, how the short-notice might affect Kavanagh, whether or not Chito Vera will actually try to do stuff in the co-main event against David Martinez, if Daniel Zellhuber can start to live up to his potential, a ton of Contender Series prospects making their debuts, a three-headed Climb, and more. Welcome back to the studio. This is My Day of Play, where you're taken into the real events and actions of how it happens long before the process of editing or cleaning up. The original purpose of these episodes was to give my broadcasting students something to edit, to practice with and to call their own. Then I realized that you are just as important. Share the reality of how it really went. We begin things with Sofronio Vasquez the winner of season 26 of NBC's The Voice. Then we'll leap into an extremely informative investigation into UFOs. The director of the documentary The Program James Fox. And we'll wrap things up David Martinez from A&E's docu-series Fugitive Hunters Mexico. This is My Day of Play. Photo courtesy Cherokee Nation / Facebook In Tahlequah, Okla. this week, Cherokee language speakers and officials unveiled a Cherokee language dictionary app. They were joined by representatives of Kiwa Digital Limited, who developed the app based on a Cherokee dictionary 50 years ago, created by Native speaker Durbin Feeling. Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Junior said the new app will allow every Cherokee family to carry the resource in their pockets, and represented the tribe's sovereignty and knowledge, as well as their commitment to keep the Cherokee language strong for generations to come. “For the last five centuries, our language and our culture has been under assault, has been eroded, and that's the story of Indigenous languages around the world. Many of which the languages that have been lost and that we will lose in the future. Many of which are a part of history books, about languages that once were.” Chief Hoskin said he expected the app to become more than a simple curiosity for tribal members, and will be especially embraced by children and other youth. The Cherokee Language Dictionary App includes translations for more than 6-thousand Cherokee words, with audio recordings, grammar notes, and phonetics. Under my direction, the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Wounded Knee will keep their medals. This decision is final. Their place in history is settled. pic.twitter.com/klQlB6MZ6l — Secretary of War Pete Hegseth (@SecWar) September 25, 2025 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an unusual speech in September to top brass in which he railed against “woke” ideology and hyped the recently rebranded Department of War. He also weighed in on a long-simmering controversy involving the so-called Battle of Wounded Knee which occurred on December 29, 1890, where hundreds of Lakotas were killed by the U.S. Army. Many consider that conflict a massacre – and have called for the soldiers to be stripped of their Medals of Honor. Sec. Hegseth dismissed the idea as political correctness run amok and released a video defending the soldiers and their medals. As KJZZ's Gabriel Pietrorazio reports, it was a painful message for tribes throughout the country. “Under my direction, we're making it clear, without hesitation, that the soldiers who fought in the Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890 will keep their medals.” Although bipartisan efforts in Congress to rescind those Medals of Honor go back decades, only a president has the legal authority – beyond the Pentagon itself – to undo that distinction. “This decision is now final, and their place in our nation's history is no longer up for debate. We salute their memory, we honor their service, and we will never forget what they did.” In what would be the final chapter of the Army's century-long “Indian Wars” campaign, as many as 300 Lakotas were killed at Wounded Knee in South Dakota – while at least 25 U.S. soldiers died. A rifle shot rang out when troops tried disarming a surrendering encampment on December 29, 1890. In that confusion, the mass slaughter of mostly unarmed men, women and children ensued. Army general Nelson Appleton Miles penned in private, “I have never heard of a more, brutal cold-blooded massacre than that at Wounded Knee.” To this day, there is still no official death count. Hegseth's comments came a few weeks after President Donald Trump signed an executive order, rebranding his agency as the Department of War. “This is something we thought long and hard about. We've been talking about it for months, Pete and I … I think it's a much more appropriate name, especially in light of where the world is right now.” From the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the Israeli-Hamas conflict in Gaza, the same dynamics of Wounded Knee – of civilians being killed by conquering military forces – continue to play out all around the globe, according to David Martinez. “And I would go further and say that what you see in contemporary American foreign policy was forged in America's battles with Indian people.” Tune in tomorrow to hear how the history of Wounded Knee continues for many Native people today. GDP Script/ Top Stories for December 4th Publish Date: December 4th PRE-ROLL: SUGAR HILL ICE SKATING From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Thursday, December 4th and Happy birthday to Jeff Bridges I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia. Lake Lanier Association Completes Phase Three of Shoreline Protection Program Hilscher wins another term in Suwanee City Council Police aim to deter youth gun violence in slain officer's memory Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on carrots All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: GCPS Hiring STORY 1: Lake Lanier Association Completes Phase Three of Shoreline Protection Program Lake Lanier’s shoreline just got a little more secure—5,280 feet of it, to be exact. The Lake Lanier Association (LLA) announced the completion of the third phase of Project Armor, its ongoing effort to fight erosion caused by heavy boat traffic. This phase reinforced 16 badly eroded areas with rip rap, a method that helps absorb wave energy and protect the shoreline. Over the past 12 years, the LLA has armored 3 miles of shoreline, saving 28 islands and areas from disappearing into the lake. Why does it matter? These islands aren’t just pretty—they’re vital. They provide wildlife habitats, beaches, and safe spots for fishing and recreation. Without protection, some islands have already vanished, and erosion is making the lake shallower, threatening both recreation and the drinking water supply for over 5 million Georgians. This project, supported by partners like the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and local counties, is far from over. With 12 million visitors a year, Lake Lanier’s waves aren’t slowing down anytime soon. STORY 2: Hilscher wins another term in Suwanee City Council Suwanee City Councilwoman Beth Hilscher is sticking around for another four years after edging out David Martinez in Tuesday’s runoff for the Post 4 seat. Unofficial results show Hilscher pulled in 734 votes to Martinez’s 638. Suwanee wasn’t the only Gwinnett city with a runoff—Duluth voters also hit the polls to decide the Post 3 City Council race between incumbent Lamar Doss and challenger Marlene Denise Tucker. In Suwanee, it’s Hilscher who’s celebrating. STORY 3: Police aim to deter youth gun violence in slain officer's memory Gwinnett County police have rolled out a new program aimed at steering kids away from guns while honoring Officer Antwan Toney, who was tragically killed in the line of duty seven years ago. Called Toney’s Program, it launched in September and focuses on first-time or minor handgun offenses among juveniles. The program, named after Toney—who was shot by a teen in 2018—pairs participants with mentors for a seven-week curriculum and three months of follow-up support. Families are involved too, attending sessions alongside their kids. Teens hear from gun violence victims and learn conflict resolution, emotional awareness, and nonviolent decision-making. The first group graduated last month, with the next starting in January. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: 07.14.22 KIA MOG- DTL HOLIDAY STORY 4: Snellville man convicted of attacking former basketball teammates A Snellville man, just 20 years old, is headed to prison for 25 years after a string of violent attacks on his former high school basketball teammates. Jet Horne, once a senior on South Gwinnett High’s 2022-23 team, was convicted last week on a laundry list of charges—aggravated assault, firearm possession, criminal damage, even hijacking a car. The incidents? Three separate attacks between December 2024 and May 2025. In December, Horne ambushed Talal Ansah, shooting him eight times as he returned home from work. Ansah barely survived. Then, in March, Horne fired into Timair Walker’s car, injuring a neighbor with a stray bullet. By May, he escalated—holding Maalik Leitch at gunpoint, stealing his BMW, and leading police on a chase. Ballistics tied it all together, sealing Horne’s fate. “This was a violent, senseless series of crimes,” said DA Patsy Austin-Gatson. “We’re grateful for justice and continue to pray for the victims.” STORY 5: BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Dacula Keeps Rolling with Lopsided Win Dacula cruised past Jackson County on Tuesday night, dominating with an 82-58 win in boys basketball. Case Presley was unstoppable, racking up 20 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Josh Brown added 15 points, six boards, and four steals, while Dorian Douglas chipped in 15 points, five steals, and four assists. Kenny LaRue (nine points, six assists), Luke Anderson (nine points), and Caleb Golding (nine points, four rebounds) rounded out the Falcons’ balanced attack. Dacula now sits at 6-1 on the season. ATLANTA FALCONS: The Falcons, with six losses in their last seven games, will take on the Seahawks, who’ve won six of their last seven. Led by coach Mike Macdonald and quarterback Sam Darnold, the 9-3 Seahawks face the Falcons at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. U.S. MENS SOCCER: The U.S. Men’s National Team will face Belgium, Portugal, and Germany in a high-stakes pre-World Cup series. Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts two matches: USA vs. Belgium on March 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET and USA vs. Portugal on March 31 at 7 p.m. ET.

Inventory management is an important part of David's work with bike shops. As we've brought on more dealers to the Digital Advisor Services program, some trends have emerged, offering useful tips for other stores. Obvious, you say? If they are obvious to you, that's great, but they come up often enough that we think they are worth covering. What may not be obvious is that we're talking about both in-store and online sales. Curating your product assortmentListen and learn from your customers, staff, and communityWhat are customers asking for that you don't have?Bonus tip: Supplier Sync as an indicator of interestProducts your staff actually use - Your staff will enjoy selling items they actually useConsider ancillary products - Are you in a beach town and do lots of rentals? Offer beverages, towels, sunscreen, etc.Curate around your brand/focused categories (MTB, road, e-bike, family) - it's easy to be a roadie store that also sells MTB and not take the extra step for what isn't your primary focus, but it mattersMTB'ers need gloves, helmets, tires, sealant, and colored pedalsRoadies love nutrition, sunglasses, and computersE-bikes: mirrors, bells, baskets, battery chargers, phone mountsFamily: fun helmets, bells, horns, burley trailers, Buying is important, but sell-through is what matters mostMonitor your aged inventory and strategize a plan for markdownsTake notes on what is working and what's not working. Don't make the same mistakes season after season. How many different brands of black shorts/bibs do you need?Does your assortment/levels align with your floorspaceMaintain as little backstock Minimizes shrinkage, theft, and aged inventoryHow many of ‘X' fit on a hook on your floorBonus Topic2nd tier e-bike brandsThe market is FLOODED with these brands. Margins can look attractive, but brand recognition is low, so you and your staff really need to believe in the productOnline sales can be difficult because of low brand awarenessService parts can be difficult to get, causing a bad customer experienceBe sure to email your questions to podcast@workstand.com. Diego Lopes isn't stepping out of the championship contender picture just yet. With a resounding win over Jean Silva in Saturday's Noche UFC main event, Lopes kept himself in line for another shot at the featherweight title he fell short of capturing this past April. But just how much closer is he to going another five rounds with Alexander Volkanovski? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what's next for Lopes as he looks to further separate himself from a crowded 145-pound pack that includes rivals Movsar Evloev and Yair Rodriguez, and former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for the fast-rising David Martinez, surging lightweights Alexander Hernandez and Rafa Garcia, and 21-year-old debutant Santiago Luna. Plus, what to do with Kelvin Gastelum after another weight miss debacle, and listener picks to close out the show. Follow Mike Heck: @m_heckjr Follow Alexander K. Welcome to Episode 73 of the MMArcade Podcast! Join Robert Whittaker and Jonny Roses as they share their reactions to Noche UFC, including Diego Lopes vs Jean Silva, David Martinez vs Rob Font, Rafa Garcia vs Jared Gordon, Kelvin Gastelum vs Dustin Stotlzfus, Alexander Hernandez vs Diego Ferreira and Santiago Luna vs Quang Le. Plus Borderlands 4, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and more!
UFC Noche didn't have the star quality it should have for a card of the magnitude a “Noche” event is supposed to but it did deliver action in some of the fights. From the opening bout, we were treated to an electrifying TKO from Daniil Donchenko, and another from Alden Coria. For comic relief, we were treated to Dominick Cruz thinking Alice Periera was actually Aline Pereira, and we didn't have to watch an entire Sedriques Dumas bout since that one ended in a NC thanks to an accidental low blow.Dusko Todorovic finally got the slump-breaker he desperately needed when he finished Jose Medina and Tatiana Suarez scored a unanimous decision over Amanda Lemos. Quang Le got starched and Alex Hernandez beat Diego Ferreira within an inch of his life thanks to a referee that clearly liked live action snuff films.Kelvin Gastelum won a fairly comfortable decision over Dustin Stolzfus and can now go back to the buffet with his crazy hot wife. Rafa Garcia stopped Jared Gordon in the third, and Rob Font got outworked by David Martinez who took the win via unanimous decision. Finally, the last Fighting Nerd with an undefeated UFC record got starched with a spinning elbow dealt by Diego Lopes, thus sealing the fate of the once undefeated team (inside the octagon). I feel like Zane's early precognition about this team was spot on. Vindication! Now, let's check out the rest of the results and bonuses while we're here.MMA Vivisection & 6th Round is a reader-supported publication. UFC Noche Lopes vs SilvaAJ Lets Talk SportsThe headline act is a featherweight showdown between *Diego Lopes* and *Jean Silva**, booked as a five‑round main event. Lopes, a former title challenger, is looking to bounce back after losing to Alexander Volkanovski, while Silva comes in on a strong run, aiming to keep his momentum going in the division. The event also features a key strawweight bout between **Tatiana Suarez* and **Amanda Lemos**, which carries implications in one of the women's top divisions.Linktree: https://linktr.ee/AJLetsTalkSportsOriginally slated to take place in Guadalajara as UFC 320, the card was relocated to San Antonio and rebranded as a Fight Night due to issues with the construction of the Arena Guadalajara. The co‑main event was to feature Rob Font vs. Raul Rosas Jr., but Rosas Jr. withdrew due to a rib injury; Font is now matched against David Martinez. Along with these, several undercard matchups include rising and established fighters across multiple weight classes aiming to either climb the rankings or re-establish form.

Promising sign for the health of the market and online sales at bike shopsBike sales did, however, decline in dollars and units, with electric, road, mountain, and BMX showing growth but offset by declines in other categories. I'm still speculating that the early peak of bicycle sales in March and April was driven in large part by consumers attempting to beat tariffs, but new product releases and popularity in the growth categories are also contributors. Overall platform growth is coming across the board from parts, accessories, and apparel. Those are good indicators that people are riding bikes and engaging with cycling. On the whole, the results are outperforming my expectationsThat being said, I don't hear a lot of positives about YTD results when I talk with clientsOnline sales are a bright spot, but in many parts of the country, foot traffic and total sales are downU.S. Bicycle Production and Assembly ActLegislation introduced in Congress this week would eliminate tariffs on components used to assemble complete bikes in the U.S.Goal is to create hubs as a step toward frame manufacturingChris Cocalis founded Pivot Cycles and Charlie Cooper with PFB at BLCCelebrating Pride Month and we'll be close for Juneteenth, but will have an on-call team for support. The idea of leveraging catalog-enabled websites and ecommerce to grow sales beyond a retailer's home market is one of the main reasons Workstand has so many bike shops using our platform. In addition to the website platform, Workstand's marketing agency team helps more than 400 stores manage their digital presence and promote their store locally and nationally. As our Key Accounts Advisor, David Martinez wraps all of that technology and marketing know-how up and combines it with his years of experience in successful bike shops to add in-store processes, strategic buying and inventory management, and professional presentation of all aspects of a purchase to elevate local bike shops as effective commerce merchants. Most people think selling online is all about price, but David has proven repeatedly that it is more about high-level execution in buying, inventory management, and customer experience that allows any store to sell more and grow faster. We talk about all of that in this episode of Around the Workstand and encourage all stores to reach out to David at david.m@workstand.com to learn more and enroll in our Digital Advisor Service.https://workstand.com/bike-shop-marketinghttps://marketing.smartetailing.net/products/email-automations-pg197.htmhttps://marketing.smartetailing.net/products/google-ads-pg182.htmhttps://marketing.smartetailing.net/products/email-marketing-pg207.htmhttps://marketing.smartetailing.net/products/premium-content-packages-pg101.htmhttps://workstand.com/bike-shop-performanceBe sure to email your questions to podcast@workstand.com. UFC London was an absolute dumpster fire. The judging was bad. The fight IQ was bad. And to top it all off we lost our win streak because Puja cant finish a head kick. We move on to UFC Mexico City and hopefully better results! LAFC traveled to Children's Mercy Park and showed no mercy to Sporting, taking out the home side, 2-0. Goals from David Martinez and Aaron Long, excellent defending, and two big saves by Hugo Lloris punctuated the win. Also on Episode 350, Odin Holm and Adrian Wibowo make their LAFC debuts, LAFF needs to be reminded it's an LA podcast, and apparently, Scarf was a member of the Open Cup broadcast team for LAFC2's win over FC Arizona. Enjoy 350, and here's to 350 more!
LAFC headed up to Seattle to take on their rivals, the Seattle Sounders, amid roster rotation and a CCC match in Columbus just 3 days later. A solid first half gave way to the dam breaking in the second, and a heavily rotated LAFC squad took a beating, 5-2. On the bright side, Nathan Ordaz and David Martinez kept up their game of "whatever you can do, I can do better". On the not-so-bright side, Marlon suffered a pulled hammy while Olivier Giroud remained ineffective. It's all here on 347, so join Filly and Scarf in the recap, and then forget all about it!
