After a few weeks off for reflection and inspiration, I am back! Joining me is my Badass cousin Perlesta (I call her Lita) and we are talking about maneuvering life and the Black Lives Matter Movement as biracial women. We are NOT the spokeswomen for all things biracial (do I even need to say that?) but I feel our shared experiences have merit and maybe others have felt the same way. I kinda quoted Audre Lorde, but here's the quote in its glorious entirety: "Black and Third World people are expected to educate white people as to our humanity. Women are expected to educate men. Lesbians and gay men are expected to educate the heterosexual world. The oppressors maintain their position and evade their responsibility for their own actions. There is a constant drain of energy which might be better used in redefining ourselves and devising realistic scenarios for altering the present and constructing the future." ~ Audre Lorde Check her out: Insta: frecklesandbrows https://frecklesandbrows.com/ Come check me out: Insta: shift.talkerpodcast Web: https://aglasgowcoach.com/ Music Cred - I dunno by grapes (c) copyright 2008 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (3.0) license. http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/grapes/16626 Ft: J Lang, Morusque --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/anna-glasgow/support

This solo show comes on the heels of the major upheaval in our nation and within in our culture. I have received so many messages, calls and visits from my white friends and I wanted to create a place of reference and love. This is what was in my heart to say. It may not be popular but I can only speak from my experience. “Black” is okay to say Stop telling us about your black best friend in elementary school Ask your black friends what they need Tell your black friends that you won't tolerate racism in your life Teach and educate your kids about the struggle Recognize that you have NO idea what we go through. NONE Listen when your black friends talk. Speak up when your white friends talk. Support Black owned businesses, authors, creatives, accounts Don't vote for Trump. Stop saying, "I don't see color" Read. Research. Expand your knowledge base. Biracial children should be taught their heritage. If you don't know it: learn it! You don't get to decide if you offended me Stop saying All Lives Matter! The reason we have to single out Blacks is because people obviously don't feel that our lives matter It's okay NOT to march with us. Stay home and educate your people. This is our fight. This situation with all its uncertainty is real and I just wanted to hop on and give you some guidance and little laugh through it all! Please go to Insta and give me all your laughable working from home moments. We all need a laugh these days! The planner I mentioned is the Rise Up planner by Moira Kucaba. I've got a special treat for y'all in this episode!  On the show, my guy Roderick and his best friend Brandon open up about the SHIFTS that happened throughout their fatherhood journeys.  Roderick is my man, the father of our daughter C, son to Angela and Franklin and big brother to Jayna and Dee. He is a high school football coach and teacher in the Dallas area and cigar aficionado. You can find him at the gym before dawn and giving piggy back rides to C after work. He is my best friend, chosen family and the man I manifested through steadfast prayer. Brandon is Roderick's childhood, lifelong best friend. He is a father to Branson, son to Vicky W. and Ken & Zola C. and friend to many. He is also a high school football coach and teacher in the Dallas area. Brandon is somewhat of a Social Media Celeb. You can find him speaking truth and humor through his witty and socially conscious posts on Facebook and Instagram. (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brandon.crutchfield.3        Insta: crutch_da_preppy)  (If you want his phone number you've got to listen to the episode...!) These two inspired and surprised me with their take on what it's like to be a father from the pregnancy announcement to present day.  Get comfortable and ready to laugh because this episode is going to deliver entertainment and insight!
