The Woman saw her opening. She fired another arrow, this time aiming for the large man's exposed neck. The arrow flew true, sinking deep into his flesh. He staggered back, clutching at the wound, but he wasn't done yet. With a final, desperate roar, the large man swung his hammer in a wide arc. It caught The Jester off guard, sending him flying across the arena. The Jester laughed as he crumpled to the ground, his music falling silent. The distraction was enough. The Swordsman Hero lunged forward, his swords a blur as he delivered the final strike. The large man fell to his knees, his hammer slipping from his grasp and thudding into the dirt. The Woman lowered her bow, breathing hard, and walked over to the fallen Jester. He grinned up at her, despite the pain. The Female Combatant watched as the Swordsman Hero stood tall over the large man, his swords dripping with blood. The crowd erupted in cheers, but she didn't hear them. Her eyes were on the Heroes, awestruck by the skill that had carried them through the fight. A huge thank you to Rachel for being part of our show! Do you use the cues to “pull up” or “point your toes”? Those are common cues teachers use in the dance world. One mental skill I talk about is attention and learning how to take a cue like “pull up” and translate that to a helpful action on your body. I know some dancers hear your cue and then nothing happens, but my guest today has some great insights to help us understand what dance teachers should know about dance science and how to use it in their curriculum. Today's guest is Maria Haralambis, an expert in dance kinesiology who currently works as both a ballet teacher and advisor for many dance education platforms. In this episode, we'll discuss the importance of bringing dance science into curriculums and shifting the way we think about anatomy, along with balance and spotting tips and the language to use when cueing to ensure each dancer understands what you're asking of them from an anatomy standpoint. Listen in while we talk dance anatomy and how to use that knowledge to train turns and balance and so many important skills! Hey Hey FitMama, I have an amazing guest for you today; parenting and relationship coach, Diane Sorensen! Sandy was just an ordinary citizen with no special training or resources who uncovered a scandal. This week I speak with Sandy Rosenthal who shares her riveting account of one woman's battle to expose a massive coverup after the Army Corps of Engineers' defective floodwalls broke during Hurricane Katrina and created a catastrophe. This is an inspiring David and Goliath story prompting many to refer to Sandy as the "Erin Brockovich" of levees.Sandy Rosenthal founded the non-profit Levees.org in 2005. The group focuses on educating the public that the flooding of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina was due to federal engineering mistakes, not the wrath of nature. Her book, Words Whispered in Water, is about how––against all odds––she altered the national narrative about the flooding disaster.Sandy's powerful message is bringing to light a mostly unknown yet dangerous situation in many parts of our country and she's an inspiration on how to truly mobilize citizen participation. This description was created in part by summarizing and rearranging the biography sent by the guest._____________________________________Her Website: https://levees.org/Pick Up Her Book Here: https://www.amazon.com/Words-Whispered-Water-Hurricane-Katrina/dp/1642503274/_____________________________________Link to all things Not in a Huff Podcast: https://linktr.ee/notinahuffpodcastPlease follow/subscribe to the podcast to be the first to see new episodes when they come out each week. Andrea is certified in Rapid Resolution Therapy & specializes in nervous system regulation, subconscious reprogramming, & spiritual entrepreneur friendly business strategy. When she's not celebrating her latest 6-figure month, you can find her traveling the world, giggling hysterically over dirty jokes with her team, or savoring a cool glass of Cab on the Florida coast at sunset. Here are the key takeaways from this episode: Building Trust: Andrea stresses the significance of investing energy equity into her community, which has resulted in a high retention rate and word-of-mouth referrals. Pleasure Over Pressure: She introduced her pleasure over pressure model, which focuses on making business decisions based on intuition and joy rather than fear and pressure. This approach has led to her most productive year, creating numerous offers that resonate with her audience. Personalized Business Models: We discussed how different business models can lead to similar successful outcomes. Andrea runs multiple offers, while I focus on a signature program and one-on-one coaching, proving there's no one-size-fits-all in business. She explained the importance of distinguishing between truth and distortion when receiving criticism.
