    In this series, now named "Journey Through Muzak with Andy,” I will be sharing my top 10 favorite albums released each year! Starting with 1965, and continuing all the way to the present year. Today, we will talk about my top 10 favorite albums released in 1968. Here is a timeline of what was going on in music back in 1968 from Rock Music Timeline: https://www.rockmusictimeline.com/1968 "The rock musical Hair opens on Broadway. 500,000 march on Washington DC to protest the Vietnam war with musical support from Arlo Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Denver and Peter, Paul and Mary. ​The Beatles, Donovan, Beach Boys singer Mike Love, actress Mia Farrow and others travel to India to hang with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Gibson introduces the Flying V guitar. The final episode of the Monkees TV show airs on NBC in the US. In December. Elvis Presley's comeback special airs on NBC. Britain moves to outlaw off-shore "pirate" radio stations. The first issue of Rolling Stone magazine is published.     In this new series, "The Album Years with Andy", I will be sharing my top 10 favorite albums release in each year! We will start with 1965, and continue our way up until we have reached 2021 (then this will just be an annual thing of course)! Today, we will talk about my top 10 favorite albums that were released in 1966. Here is a timeline of what was going on in music back in 1966 from Rock Music Timeline: https://www.rockmusictimeline.com/1966 "John Lennon is quoted in a London newspaper saying the Beatles are more popular than Jesus, resulting in Beatles record burning events across the southern US. Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass have four albums simultaneously in the US Top Ten. The Beatles perform their last official concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. NBC has a hit TV show with The Monkees, featuring the comedic exploits of a "Beatlesque" pop group. In April, for the first time since January 1964, the US Top Ten does not have a UK band in it.
