While many of our Founding Fathers believed that God created the world and then left it to run on its own, the Psalms depict a radically different picture: a God who is intimately involved in sustaining creation and directing history. Psalm 104 portrays God not only as Creator but as active Sustainer, bringing order from chaos, watering the earth, feeding creatures, and wisely governing all life. Psalms 105 and 106 function together as a historical reflection on God's covenant faithfulness—especially His promises to Abraham—and Israel's repeated unfaithfulness. God remains faithful even when His people are not.The covenant with Abraham demonstrates that God initiates relationship and bears the risk, a theme Christians believe culminates in Jesus' declaration of a “new covenant” at the Last Supper. Salvation is presented as a gift of grace, not earned by works, yet genuine friendship with God is evidenced through obedience. Psalm 106 underscores the serious cost of sin, showing how forgetfulness of God disrupts covenant relationship. This episode challenges us to live from a place of gratitude and repentance for God's grace. We need to ask -- how is my sin hindering the friendship He's initiated with me?Scriptures:Psalm 104Psalm 105Psalm 106Matthew 26:26-28John 15:14Matthew 7:21

The final colour. The yellow bead. Heaven. We begin with Soul Revival's vision week, where Stu outlines Soul Revival Church's vision for 2026: a church that proudly calls itself "boring" because all it's doing is putting into practice a textbook written 2,000 years ago about a bloke called Jesus. The vision: Jesus Changes Everything. And the mission? Share the truth and love of Jesus with everyone, everywhere.Cicadas live underground for seven years, surviving in darkness, sucking sap from tree roots. Then one day they dig up, emerge into blinding light, crawl up a tree, shed their chrysalis, grow wings, and fly. And they wee. Out of pure joy. That's what becoming a Christian is like. You don't have to keep stumbling in the dark of your own sin. Jesus is the light who shows the way back to God.But here's Stu's challenge: don't go back in the hole. Sin is sweet for a season. It's enticing, but it doesn't last.Stu gets honest about why people leave the church—better friendships outside than inside, taking church for granted, or the world being too attractive. The yellow bead is our hope of eternal life. Revelation 21 paints the picture: no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. God dwelling with His people forever. A new heaven and new earth where the glory of God is the light. It's not about what we do but who we're with. Jesus. Because of Him, God adopts us as His children. We belong to a new family. Eternal life is secured forever by the Holy Spirit.Stu closes with the simplest question: How are you with your friendship with Jesus? If you've been wondering whether you still want to hang out with Him, Jesus' response is, "I never left you. I'm always here. And I love you."Scripture: Revelation 21Speaker: Stu Crawshaw Series: Colours of Life
In this sermon, we will see three characteristics of friendship with God.
What does it really mean to be a friend of God? In this message from James 4, Pastor Tom explores the Bible's deep, relational vision of friendship with the living God—one marked by loyalty, love, and intimacy. Drawing on the powerful imagery of friendship and marriage, he challenges us to see how divided loyalties and worldly desires lead to spiritual adultery and distance from God. With clarity and pastoral urgency, this message calls us to repentance, humility, and renewed devotion, reminding us of the beautiful promise at the heart of it all: He gives more grace.

The Apostle James addresses the core of the matter, which is the condition of the heart. He poses a question: where do conflicts and strife originate? They arise from a heart motivated by wrong desires. We see a stark contrast between friendship with the "World" and friendship with God, as the two are mutually exclusive. Are we attempting to have a foot in two camps?

We were created for relationship, and God Himself invites us into the deepest one of all: friendship with Him. From the garden with Adam and Eve to Abraham, Moses, and the disciples, Scripture shows that God longs to walk with His people in closeness, trust, and shared heart. Friendship with God is not automatic. It is intentional, relational, and marked by love, obedience, and agreement with His ways. As we pursue Him, align our lives with His Word, and seek His presence above everything else, He draws us into deeper intimacy and begins to reveal His heart. This is where transformation happens. This is where we hear His voice. This is where true friendship begins. We weren't made to simply serve God from a distance. We were made to walk with Him. Scriptures Referenced Genesis 3:8 (NKJV) James 2:23 (NKJV) Numbers 12:5–8 (NKJV) John 15:12–15 (NKJV) James 4:4 (NKJV) Amos 3:3 (NKJV) John 14:21 (NKJV) John 3:29 (NKJV)
On Sunday Pastor Jeff will launch a three-part sermon series looking at Christmas from a very different angle. If Jesus' birth marked the beginning of something new, that means it also marked the end of something old. To fully appreciate the beauty of the new, we first have to understand the old it was replacing and the vivid contrast between the two. Let's learn something important together!

The culture is shifting, and the season has changed. It can be agitating and frightening, but it means something else, too: Jesus' return is drawing closer. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses how we can be prepared for our Lord's return. The Bible tells us that deception and conflict, both physical and spiritual, will increase as the End of the Age approaches. Pastor Allen shows how we see this in our world today, then he shares God's instructions for standing firm. Living in the truth of God's Word and relying on His wisdom and peace will be essential. We've been asked to overcome a number of daunting things—our own carnal desires, evil, Satan's kingdom—but God hasn't left us alone. We can trust in the Lion of Judah.

What does it really mean to be friends with God—and how can that friendship fill our lives with lasting joy? In this uplifting episode, we talk with Faith about how intimacy with God shifts our desires, strengthens our faith, and sustains us through hardship. We also explore how to take that next step into deeper friendship with Him, and what it practically looks like to live each day knowing God as both Father and Friend. Plus, don't miss details on our journal giveaway over on Instagram @awesome_marriage! Episode Highlights: Friendship with God sparks joy in our lives. Joy is referenced over 400 times in scripture. Our default mode is to find joy in God's presence. Joy is not just a moment but a continuous state. The fall of humankind began when joy was sought outside of God. Joy is deeper than happiness; it encompasses peace and confidence. Every season of life has its own joy to discover. Jesus is the source of our completion and joy. Enjoying the Holy Spirit alters your desires. Acknowledging God in daily life fosters intimacy. Practicing the presence of God can be done in all activities. Friendship with God is accessible through salvation. Questions for Reflection: How would you describe your current friendship with God? What moments in your life have made you feel closest to God? What did those times have in common? What spiritual disciplines or habits help you feel more connected to God on a daily basis? Are there any areas where you feel distant from God right now? What might be contributing to that? Are there any distractions or habits you might need to let go of to prioritize friendship with God? Quotes from Today's Episode: "We can be friends with God." "Jesus is where my completion is." "He does the heart work." "Acknowledge Him in all your ways." "God's got answers for all of us." By William Flaman - Our friendships here on Earth are a template, a model of what our friendship with God should be. Strengthening friendships with godly men and women strengthens our friendship with God.
