The culture is shifting, and the season has changed. It can be agitating and frightening, but it means something else, too: Jesus' return is drawing closer. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses how we can be prepared for our Lord's return. The Bible tells us that deception and conflict, both physical and spiritual, will increase as the End of the Age approaches. Pastor Allen shows how we see this in our world today, then he shares God's instructions for standing firm. Living in the truth of God's Word and relying on His wisdom and peace will be essential. We've been asked to overcome a number of daunting things—our own carnal desires, evil, Satan's kingdom—but God hasn't left us alone. We can trust in the Lion of Judah.

Daniels speaks on "Presence of God". The Bible reading is Genesis 20:10-15 © 2017 by Holman Bible Publishers.
What does it really mean to be friends with God—and how can that friendship fill our lives with lasting joy? In this uplifting episode, we talk with Faith about how intimacy with God shifts our desires, strengthens our faith, and sustains us through hardship. We also explore how to take that next step into deeper friendship with Him, and what it practically looks like to live each day knowing God as both Father and Friend. Plus, don't miss details on our journal giveaway over on Instagram @awesome_marriage! Episode Highlights: Friendship with God sparks joy in our lives. Joy is referenced over 400 times in scripture. Our default mode is to find joy in God's presence. Joy is not just a moment but a continuous state. The fall of humankind began when joy was sought outside of God. Joy is deeper than happiness; it encompasses peace and confidence. Every season of life has its own joy to discover. Jesus is the source of our completion and joy. Enjoying the Holy Spirit alters your desires. Acknowledging God in daily life fosters intimacy. Practicing the presence of God can be done in all activities. Friendship with God is accessible through salvation. Questions for Reflection: How would you describe your current friendship with God? What moments in your life have made you feel closest to God? What did those times have in common? What spiritual disciplines or habits help you feel more connected to God on a daily basis? Are there any areas where you feel distant from God right now? What might be contributing to that? Are there any distractions or habits you might need to let go of to prioritize friendship with God? Quotes from Today's Episode: "We can be friends with God." "Jesus is where my completion is." "He does the heart work." "Acknowledge Him in all your ways." "God's got answers for all of us." On Easter Sunday, Preston Morrison breaks down “How Jesus Restored Friendship With God.” Since the garden, sin created a separation between us and God. But on the cross, Jesus bridged the gap once and for all — and one of the primary reasons He did it may surprise you — He desires to be intimately connected to His best friend — YOU!

The season of Lent is a time of preparation, of deepening our relationship with the Divine and preparing to receive a miracle! Rather than focusing on sacrificing something you enjoy (giving up something for Lent), I recommend doing MORE of what you truly yearn for…something that will give you more love, peace, and connection. That's why I am recommending my book, Meditation is Friendship with God! This book will teach you the nuts and bolts of meditation, but it will also take you beyond meditation techniques, to developing an intimate relationship with the Divine. In this episode, I take you through a mini quiz to help you determine whether your current concept of God works for you, and if not, how to create one that does! If you would like to purchase this book, click here for the Show Notes PS- if you want to go even deeper in meditation, you can still join the new training – Meditate Like Mother Mary Key Learnings: If you were raised with a concept of God that made you feel anxious, afraid, judged or anything negative, know that you can change that right now. Nothing negative is of God, that is the ego projecting itself onto the Divine. If you had a challenging relationship with your parents, it might be difficult to relate to God as Divine Mother or Father. But most of us have had a friend, or can at least imagine a friend, who cares for us and treats us as equals. Meditation is a relationship. It is a process of creating more and more intimacy with your own Self. As we learn to deeply relax, we become aware of the Divine Presence that is always present. We learn to become God's friend. “We are most genuinely ourselves when we are expansive. Why? Because that is when we are most like God.” To purchase Meditation is Friendship with God, click here To register for Meditate Like Mother Mary, click here To join the Magnify Your Miracles membership, click here If you love the image on the wall behind me of Mother Mary Blessing the World, you can order your own museum quality copy at www.deepaliu.com

In the beginning, humans were in friendship with God and in harmony with creation. The Catechism unfolds this harmony and introduces us to the “original justice” that our first parents lost in sin. Fr. Mike reminds us that, although our original callings to leisure, love, and labor have been twisted by sin, they are renewed in Christ. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 374-384. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/ciy Please note: The Catechism of the Catholic Church contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.

Do you long to feel closer to God? Are you searching for a faith that's more than just going through the motions? Let's be honest: we often feel distant from God. We spend a lot more time looking like we're faithful than living out a life-giving relationship. Our souls ache from the lack of intimacy. Something is missing. We know life isn't supposed to be this way. What we really want is to know God and be known. We yearn for an honest, ongoing connection with God as a real person. In today's episode and through her book Befriending God, Tanya Godsey invites us to move beyond religious performance and into authentic relational intimacy through: Biblical character studies illuminating how we can encounter God in the struggles, questions, and complexities of our lives; Vulnerable, powerful examples of God's relational transformation in the context of a marginalized community; Practical guidance for setting aside faulty cultural norms that keep us from friendship with God. If you crave a genuine connection with God that transcends religious to-dos and cultural currents, tune in to experience transformation and renewal in your spiritual journey.
