Why do we need an outpouring of the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is poured out in full measure.
What if the outpouring of God is not just something we wait for, but something we get ready to receive? This week in God Might, Kathryn speaks on Pentecost Sunday about Get Ready for the Outpouring — the promise of the Holy Spirit, the restoration of dreams, and the joy that comes when God fills His people again. Through Acts 2 and Psalm 126, we are reminded that when the Spirit is poured out, ordinary people are filled with power, barren places become fruitful, and the sound of joy becomes a sign to the nations. The disciples waited in obedience until the promise came. Then suddenly, heaven filled the room with wind and fire, and the world began to hear the wonders of God in their own language. Pentecost reminds us that God still pours out His Spirit, still awakens His people, and still turns waiting into witness. Psalm 126 declares that those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. The dry places are not the end of the story. God restores fortunes like streams in the Negev, turning desert ground into places of harvest, hope, and overflowing joy. Get Ready for the Outpouring is an invitation to dream again, seek the Lord, sow in faith, and position our hearts for the fresh rain of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. IntroToday we celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the church. This message explores the transition from being a disciple who sits and learns to being an apostle who is sent out on a mission, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Scripture– Matthew 9:35-38– Matthew 10:1-2– Romans 16:7– Matthew 28:19– Isaiah 6:5-8– Matthew 10:18-20– Acts 2:1-4– Acts 2:40-41 Sermon Points– A Disciple is a Student or Apprentice– Apostle Means Sent Out Ones– God does Not Call the Equipped. He Equips the Called– Pentecost is the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit ClosingAs we remember the first Pentecost, let us be a people who don’t just consume the faith, but who are willing to be sent out into our community and the world. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can say with Isaiah, Here am I. Send me! Christians call Pentecost "the Birthday of the Church." That sounds fun. But the fun comes after some pretty weird events. What's that about? What does Pentecost have to do with Jesus, and what does it have to with us today? Pastor Luke preaches from Acts 2:1-21 in "The Outpouring."
This sermon focuses on the person, divinity, and work of the Holy Spirit, based primarily on Acts 2:1-21. Pastor Jeff introduces the Holy Spirit as the co-equal third person of the Trinity , emphasizing Jesus' promises from the Gospel of John that the Spirit would serve as an internal, omnipresent Helper for believers. Four principal ideas are seen in this passage: the Holy Spirit came down sovereignly under God's timing and power, fell indiscriminately across various people and language groups to unite them in praising God, was poured out as a direct fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy from the book of Joel , and ultimately enables people to be saved from sin as the same Spirit awakens them from spiritual death. Listeners are exhorted to be grateful, open and obedient to the Holy Spirit and to be proactive in sharing the Gospel with individuals from every walk of life.
1. His Glorious Position 2. His Glorious Sufficiency 3. His Glorious Grace
Pastor Fouad Kahwagi shares from Acts 2:1-5 and 2 Kings 2 on crying out to God in prayer for an outpouring of his Spirit as in the day of Pentecost as God is still the same God that works wonders in his people.

There's a difference between knowing about Jesus and actually walking with Him in power. This message from Pastor George Sawyer is an invitation to stop standing still in your faith and start stepping into everything God has already made available to you.In Next Steps, Pastor Sawyer takes us into the Upper Room in John , a moment filled with urgency, emotion, and promise. Jesus is preparing His disciples for what's coming, and instead of leaving them empty, He gives them something greater. This message brings clarity to what it actually means to follow Jesus in the New Testament. It's not about routine religion or occasional inspiration, it's about being filled, led, and empowered by the Holy Spirit daily. From creation to salvation, from Acts 1 to today, we see the same truth: God's Spirit transforms everything He touches.Pastor Sawyer challenges us to move beyond surface-level faith and surrender every part of our lives to the Holy Spirit. Because partial surrender leads to partial power, but full surrender unlocks everything. If you've been asking, “What's my next step?” this message will point you directly to it.Digital Connect Card: www.calvaryassembly.org/new Giving: https://calvarylive.churchcenter.com/giving Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/CalvaryLiveAL/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/calvary_live/ Need prayer? https://www.calvaryassembly.org/prayer Want to take your next step in faith? When the Bible tells us to be renewed, how is that supposed to happen? The Holy Spirit works in us to make us taste and enjoy God's great love for us.
We are living in the last days—and God is fulfilling His promise. In this powerful message, we dive into the prophecy of Joel 2:28, where God declares that He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. This isn't just a future event—it's happening right now, and every believer is invited to experience it. From supernatural strength and divine guidance to spiritual gifts and deeper intimacy with God, the Holy Spirit is not optional—He is essential for the days we're living in.
God has always operated in appointed times and seasons. Moses and the children of Israel had an appointment with God when He came down with fire on Mount Sinai. The disciples of Jesus had an appointment with God when the Holy Spirit and fire came down on the Temple Mount. Both these events happened the same day on God's calendar, about 1,500 years removed—The Day of Pentecost—and were set ablaze with the same Fire from Heaven! The Busses take a dive into Scripture to study the profound significance of both of these events, and how they connect prophetically to the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit that's already happening. Tune in and be encouraged—even if you feel spiritually dry, you're in the perfect condition to burn brightly for the Lord! This year at Pentecost, we have an appointment with God to gather in St. Louis, May 21-24, for the Global Outpouring Convention to encounter the fiery Presence of the Lord and be transformed into vessels that He can work with in this Outpouring on all flesh. And we believe that you have that same appointment with God! Join us for a life-changing encounter with the Lord this Pentecost. Are you ready to deepen your encounter with Jesus and understand your role in the upcoming Outpouring of the Holy Spirit? The Busses are joined by Valerie Melroy, a long-time friend and recent addition to the Global Outpouring Board of Directors. Valerie has beautiful testimonies of personal, transformational, and healing encounters with Jesus that she experienced at Global Outpouring Conventions which brought her into a new level of relationship with the Lord and changed the course of her life. Valerie shares these powerful testimonies, prophetic insights, and the importance of community and humility in God's plan for revival. Discover how personal encounters can transform and equip you for what's next.Tune in to be encouraged, and pray about joining us at Convention 2026, May 21-24, if you're hungry for a fresh encounter with Jesus in your life! February 1st, 2026 | Encounter | Isaiah 64:1-4What does it really mean to pray for revival—and why aren't more believers desperate for it?In this message from the Encounter series, Pastor Todd Kaunitz unpacks the biblical meaning of revival: to live again. Drawing from Isaiah's cry in Isaiah 64:1–4, Pastor Todd walks through five powerful themes that shape a genuine prayer for revival—crisis, visitation, transformation, remembrance, and longing. This sermon confronts the spiritual crisis facing God's people, calls for a fresh visitation of God's presence, and explores how true revival transforms not only the church but entire cultures. From historic awakenings like the First and Second Great Awakenings, the 1857 Prayer Revival, the Welsh Revival, and the Jesus Movement, to modern glimpses of God's presence, listeners are reminded that every move of God is preceded by desperate, faithful prayer.Like a barren desert waiting for rain, this message calls the church to wait actively, cry out boldly, and believe that God still pours Himself out on those who seek Him.A timely and stirring call to pray for more than a mist—for a torrential downpour of God's Spirit.Do you know JESUS?: https://www.nblongview.org/do-you-know-jesusNeed PRAYER?: https://www.nblongview.org/praySUPPORT through giving: https://www.nbbctx.org/giving
February 1st, 2026 | Encounter | Isaiah 64:1-4What does it look like to truly encounter God—not just study Him, but experience His living presence? In this message from the Encounter series, Pastor Matt Darby invites us into Isaiah's desperate prayer for revival: “Oh that You would rend the heavens and come down.” This sermon reminds us that the Christian life was never meant to be lived apart from the presence of God. Revival is not something we manufacture or manage—it is a sovereign outpouring of God's presence that brings life, power, and transformation to His people.Walking through Isaiah 64, Pastor Matt traces a biblical pattern seen in every genuine move of God: crisis, visitation, transformation, remembering, and longing. From the danger of functioning religiously without God's manifest presence, to the hope of divine visitation that shakes what seems immovable, this message calls the church to renewed hunger for God Himself.Using vivid imagery—from dry riverbeds suddenly flooded with rain to the stunning desert super bloom—listeners are challenged to stop settling for spiritual activity without God and to cultivate a deep longing for His presence once again. This is a call to wait, to thirst, and to cry out for more—because nothing else will do but Him.Do you know JESUS? https://www.nbgilmer.org/do-you-know-jesusNeed PRAYER? https://www.nbgilmer.org/praySupport through GIVING: https://www.nbbctx.org/giving

It starts by intentionally seeking God's Kingdom first and His righteousness, desiring Kingdom instruction to guide your daily life. Once we receive the instruction, we must embrace it by choosing habits and patterns that reinforce the truth God revealed–letting go of the old way, not nursing and rehearsing the past, but nurturing and cultivating God's vision for your future. This happens little by little, consistent baby steps forward. Do not despise small beginnings–it's less about achieving the goal itself and more about who you are becoming in the process. God doesn't want you to just be inspired. He doesn't want you to operate in your own strength. His desire is for you to be transformed into His very likeness. Join Rabbi and Pastor Michael as they discuss the importance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a significant date that falls in Shevat; the power of aligning with a Kingdom-minded community; and the transformation that comes when we encounter the Father-heart of God.
Scripture points to a convergence of the former and latter rain in the last days. A moment when the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit operate together at an unprecedented level. The "former rain" refers to the initial outpouring of the Spirit that began at Pentecost, while the latter rain represents a future, intensified outpouring of the Spirit before Christ's return. Joel 2 and James 5 describe a Church that is not weak or powerless at Christ's return, but spiritually strong and prepared! The early rain, symbolizing the Holy Spirit's initial outpouring, prepared the ground and empowered the first-century Church to carry the Gospel into a hostile world. The latter rain is connected to the final harvest, bringing a last surge of spiritual power before the end of the age. As lawlessness increases and resistance to biblical truth intensifies, Scripture indicates the Rapture (harpazo) functions as a sudden rescue, taking place at a moment of mounting pressure against believers. The Bible also reveals a restraining force currently holding back the Antichrist. Until that restraint is removed, the Church remains on the earth—filled with the Word, overflowing with the Spirit, and positioned for a powerful final move of God before the Tribulation begins.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
