Send us a textA seemingly innocuous sermon question shook Daniel Ochoa's religious foundation to its core: "What makes you think you're on that off-ramp to heaven?" Despite six years of faithful church attendance, Bible study, and involvement in church activities, Ochoa realized he had mistaken religious participation for salvation.Daniel shares the pivotal conversation with his pastor that transformed his understanding of faith. "There's a cost to follow Jesus," his pastor explained—not just belief, but surrender of finances, time, reputation, even relationships. That night, Ochoa committed his life fully to Christ, marking the beginning of authentic discipleship characterized by hunger for God's Word and radical life changes. This powerful testimony frames our discussion of Daniel's book, "Time is Running Out," which challenges readers to honestly examine whether they're in good standing with God. Using vivid analogies, Daniel explains that Christianity isn't like buying a diet book or joining CrossFit—it's meaningless without implementation and visible transformation. While clarifying he doesn't believe in works-based salvation, he emphasizes that true faith naturally produces fruit, demonstrating the Holy Spirit's presence. The conversation takes a fascinating turn toward end times prophecy, with Daniel offering thought-provoking perspectives about Israel's 1948 establishment as a key prophetic marker. He expresses concern that many Christians remain unprepared for challenging times ahead, focusing exclusively on God's grace while ignoring accountability. Daniel believes demonic forces are actively dividing families and promoting self-centeredness—signs pointing to Christ's imminent return.Beyond just information, this episode delivers a heartfelt call to spiritual vigilance. Discover why Daniel believes we're living in prophetic times and how you can prepare not just intellectually but spiritually for what's ahead. Check out his YouTube channel "Life on the Narrow Road" for deeper teaching on authentic faith and end times prophecy. Are you merely attending church or truly following Jesus? Has your heart been transformed? As Daniel reminds us, the narrow path to heaven requires more than casual belief—it demands complete surrender. Ciarán Hinds' acting pursuits have taken him far from his roots in Northern Ireland. A quality actor - he lends himself to both villainy and simmering heroics. His long career has included intimate Shakespearean theatre productions right through to major franchises like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and the Disney animated film Frozen. His latest project ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North' is an intimate character study on human spirit – the Prime Video series based on the novel by Richard Flanagan. He told Jack Tame when he was first introduced to the project, he'd heard of the book but never read it. “They sent me a couple of scripts and I was immediately hooked by the quality of the writing and the story itself,” Hinds said. “So I went out and got myself the book.” “Deeply moved, I was, by the savagery, the cruelty, the brutality, the love, the deep passion, the haunting... it's a huge and hugely emotional read for anybody,” he told Tame. “And from then, I said I'm very interested in this project, and so we went on from there.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We're back with another episode of Fratello On Air. This week, we're wrapping up Watches and Wonders. We've had time to think about the show, the adjoining events, and the watches. You'll hear our impressions and some good old banter. For our listeners, the watch content begins after 30 minutes.Mike is at his childhood home in Parkland, Florida, this week while Balazs is in Germany. We apologize for the late release, but vacations get in the way every so often. We've had some time to digest all the releases and news that occurred in Geneva. Now, we're wrapping up with our thoughts.HandgelenkskontrolleWe kick off our show with errant banter about travel to the USA, current trends, and a bit about old-school Rimowa. Then, it's time to talk TV and the latest shows, including The Last of Us and The Narrow Road to the Deep North. We eventually move on to watches, and Balazs shares that he's finally trying the Ming universal bracelet on his 17.09. It was a slow burn, but now he's hooked on the supple links! Mike is in full vacation mode with his favorite beach watch, the Citizen Promaster BN0220. It's a carefree piece that works well and takes a beating.Wrapping up Watches and Wonders 2025Wrapping up Watches and Wonders isn't the easiest task because it leads to many tangential conversations. We are all on a path searching for belonging and meaning, but the question is, where are we going to find it? What is truly going to satisfy us, and are we looking in the right places? In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus warns that many take the easy, wide road that leads to destruction, while few find the narrow path that leads to life. The difference is not just what we believe but how we live, the choices we make, and the voices we follow. Join us as we explore Jesus' call to walk the narrow way, reject false guidance, and find true belonging and fulfillment in Him.

Walking the narrow road begins with faith in Christ and repentance of our old lives. But that is just the beginning of the journey, a journey that is for life and completes when Jesus returns. Until that fateful day, our walk gets narrower as we learn to discern right from almost right and truth from error. Today my guest has a lot to say on this journey, as an ex-Catholic and also as someone waking up from the dialectics of politics after being heavily involved in the political scene. If you want to get in touch with Steve, his email is: stevelynchfitness@gmail.comFacebook is @steveflynch and X is @stephenflynchTIMESTAMPS:* 00:00 - Introduction & Steve's Testimonial* 15:24 - The Importance of History* 23:12 - The Narrow Road & Politics* 39:06 - The 3 Witnesses of Prophecy* 47:26 - What Conservatives Need to Know* 56:20 - The Truth About Zionism* 1:07:07 - Dealing with Family & Friends* 1:13:29 - Reflection & Closing This is a public episode. What if your past didn't define your future—but prepared you for it? In this episode, I sit down with Jimelle Carlson, founder of Foundations Cognitive School, who went from being an unwanted child in a home full of alcoholism, abuse, and neglect to a powerful advocate for children and education. Her story is one of faith, resilience, and discovering self-worth in God's love. We dive into how unhealed wounds can lead to cycles of shame and poor choices—and how breaking free starts with allowing Christ to work IN you, rather than hoping He'll magically change those around you. Jamel shares how she overcame trauma, built a life of purpose, and now helps others do the same. We also explore how to raise resilient kids by allowing them to learn through struggles, build confidence, and find strength in challenges. The Bible speaks very simply of two roads and two destinies. One road is broad and very crowded. It has room for everybody's opinions and ideas. It has room for every pleasure and distraction you can think of. Unfortunately, multitudes choose this road. It's easy and it steadily flows along day after day as we pursue our own desires. However, the other road is narrow. There's no room for a hundred different viewpoints and a thousand different pleasure trips – there's only room for God's way, for righteousness and truth. Unlike the other road, this one goes up – upwards to heaven, and it's a road we'd all be wise to choose.
Welcome to the launch of our new series, The Better Way. In this series, we explore the final section of the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus contrasts genuine discipleship with hollow discipleship. In this first episode, Dan Belshaw dives into Matthew 7:13-14, unpacking the contrast between the 'narrow' and 'wide' roads. It's a thought-provoking message to help us reflect on our hearts as we step into a new year.
The Bible describes the narrow road as the path that leads to life, but it is difficult and only a few find it (Matthew 7:13-14). It requires faith, obedience to God, and perseverance, standing in contrast to the wide road that leads to destruction. Walking this path means following Jesus, living according to His teachings, and relying on His strength. Be blessed as you listen and share this sermon with a friend.
The Bible is clear that the road that leads to life is narrow and the road that leads to death is broad. Join us today as we talk about the narrow road and the highway to hell as an encouragement to stay on the right path, not veer off to the right or the left and to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith!#heaven #hell #salvation #faith #Bible #Christianpodcast #wordotw Watch On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@wordotw Listen on Podcast: https://spotify.link/ISlB2nreYDb Support Our Show: https://www.wordontheway.com/give Cash App: $wordotw TEXT WORDOTW to 53555 to give
Author Richard Flanagan recently completed a remarkable literary double: already a Booker Prize winner for his novel “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” he just won this year's prestigious Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction for his latest book “Question 7.”It's an audacious memoir, lyrical examination of the interconnections of history and family. He considers how a famed author's illicit kiss with a woman who was not his wife may have led to the creation of the atomic bomb, and then in turn resulted in Flanagan's own birth. The Baillie Gifford Prizes chief judge described the book as “an intricately woven exploration of the chains of consequence that frame a life.”Speaking recently from his home in Hobart, Tasmania, Flanagan told MPR News senior editor Euan Kerr the book arose from the disconnection of the COVID-19 pandemic.Use the audio player above to listen to the full conversation.

Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | November 24, 2024 Referenced Scripture: Matthew 7:13-27, Mark 1:14-15, Ephesians 5:15-18, Galatians 5:25 Reflection Questions: 1. How can someone know if they are genuinely a follower of Jesus? (on the Narrow road or the Wide road). 2. According to the Sermon on the Mount, what are some fruit(s) that we should expect in our lives as we become more deeply rooted in Jesus? 3. Read Matthew 7:21-23- 21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'-What thoughts/emotions/questions does this text bring up for you? What makes this text potentially unsettling? 4. How can it be possible to have apparent fruit in our lives when we are not truly rooted in Jesus? How is it that we can live self deception? 5. How can we know for sure that we are doing the will of the Father? How can we learn to hear and respond to the voice of God in our life? 6. How have you experienced God speaking to you through the Holy Spirit? 7. Read Galatians 5:25-Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.-What is the next step that the Spirit is asking you to take right now? What's your next step? [Original airdate: 6/28/24] We welcome back Kyle Peart and Flynn Huseby of Once Lost Ministries, apologists and evangelists who work tirelessly to bring truth and clarity to those caught up in false teaching. Today we discuss the Catholic faith and the various aspects that are unscriptural: Tradition, relics, sacraments, purgatory, and veneration of Mary. With all the religious aspects, extra-biblical focus and gospel of good works, how is it that a Catholic can never be assured of salvation? There is a lot of busy-ness, as in all religions, but none of it ever seems to produce the fruit of repentance and a biblical understanding of the new birth. We also discuss the ecumenical bent that has long been part of this huge denomination but we have to ask ourselves, to what end? Dominionism, or something more sneaky - the desire to bring all Protestants "home to Rome". A thoughtful discussion that will hopefully open eyes to the vanity of religiousity. Only by a miracle did he find his way out of addiction and into trucking. Rooster truly has a wonderful story of triumph over trouble. So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with Rooster!
