As an adult, Jason is a professional freelance musician that plays Saxophone, Piano, and Guitar. He has an extensive experience in touring, recording and education. Jason graduated from Berklee College of Music in '94 (Music Performance and a Minor in Arranging). In late 1999, while playing in various bands in Chicago, he was asked to play with the legendary Blues, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and 6 time Grammy award winner, Buddy Guy. He played in Buddy Guy's band from 1999 until 2006. They played every state in America and 20+ countries, in just the first two years. Jason's passport had "more stamps than a stamp collection." Laps for Limbs Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization that is an ability-focused, community-oriented, non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for local children and veterans with limb loss and limb differences. Laps for Limbs was inspired by a small Buffalo, NY amputee support group that expressed the lack of awareness and support for their needs in 2011. The inaugural Laps for Limbs of Western New York (WNY) took place on March 25th, 2012 at St. Francis High School in Hamburg, NY. To date, the event has raised over $70,000 and participants have completed 2,265 miles in support of local amputees. The event continues to gain support and add unique and meaningful experiences that enrich our communities. Laps for Limbs events promote accessibility and inclusion, open to people of all abilities and ages. Their walk/run/roll events create community advocacy for amputees, in a family-friendly environment, while raising funds to promote improved quality of life. In 1979 he transferred into the NY Air National Guard, Niagara Falls. He became a full-time technician at Niagara ARB in 1981, working as a Weapons System Tech., on the F4C, F4D, and F16ADF aircraft. In 1991, when the wing transitioned to the KC-135R, he transitioned to Ground Safety and worked as the full-time Quality Advisor. Chief Ward then cross-trained to Logistics Management Specialist, deploying twice in support of the War on Terrorism to Germany & Oman. He then cross-trained to Air Transportation as an Air Transportation Manager in 2008 for the newly established Small Air terminal with the wings transition to C-130H aircraft, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
