Neste episódio do Diocast vamos discutir será que "Linux é tudo igual?". Afinal, embora as distros compartilhem muitos componentes comuns, distinguem-se por uma variedade de fatores que atendem a diferentes necessidades e preferências dos usuários. Uma distro derivada é criada a partir de uma distribuição existente, mantendo a base fundamental, mas modificando e adicionando elementos para servir a um propósito específico ou a uma comunidade particular. Por exemplo, muitas distribuições derivam do Debian devido à sua estabilidade e leveza, mas cada uma oferece algo único, seja em termos de suporte a hardware, experiência do usuário ou filosofia de design. Já um fork ocorre quando desenvolvedores pegam o código de uma distro e o modificam tão profundamente que ele se torna essencialmente um novo projeto, com objetivos e direção próprios. Isso pode acontecer por divergências na visão do projeto original ou por uma necessidade de inovação que não é possível dentro dos limites da distro mãe. Um exemplo notável é o Ubuntu, que começou como um fork do Debian e se tornou uma das distribuições mais populares com seu próprio ecossistema de software e comunidade. O remaster é um processo mais superficial em comparação com a criação de uma distro derivada ou um fork. Envolve pegar uma distribuição existente e personalizá-la com diferentes conjuntos de software, configurações ou temas, geralmente para distribuição em um formato de mídia como um Live CD. Isso permite que os usuários experimentem a distro com essas personalizações sem ter que instalar ou alterar o sistema operacional existente. Também discutimos neste episódio os elementos que fazem parte da construção de uma distro e como a escolha a sua escolha pode ser influenciada por vários fatores, como a familiaridade com uma determinada interface de usuário, requisitos de hardware, tipo de pacote e gerenciamento de sistema, suporte da comunidade e filosofia por trás do projeto. Em última análise, não existe "uma melhor" distribuição Linux e com certeza "Linux é tudo igual" apenas se visto de forma muito superficial; o que existe é a distribuição que melhor se adapta às suas necessidades e preferências. A diversidade de distros disponíveis reflete a diversidade da comunidade Linux e garante que, seja qual for sua exigência, provavelmente há uma distro lá fora que se encaixa perfeitamente. Mesmo que os projetos acabem seguindo caminhos diferentes, todos eles compartilham das liberdades que estão no cerne dos projetos open source e por isso, todos fazem parte de um movimento maior. E não se preocupem em caso no começo pareça informação demais. Aprender algo novo vai exigir um investimento de tempo e energia, mas entenda que você não precisa aprender tudo de uma vez, comece focando no que é prioritário para sua rotina e avance aos poucos. Welcome everyone to TalkandRockRadio! Today's show is going to be one that I've been looking forward to again. Seven months ago I met these incredible musicians and interviewed them right before they did their concert in Brenham, Texas - just outside of Austin. Welcome guest artist John Beland, Jim Cohen and Jesenia Gerena from Ronstadt Revue!                               Well you guys, it's been 7 months since we did the first interview. In fact, the day we did it, John, you had just met them in person for the first time, right?  In fact, I kind of put you and Jess on the spot when I asked you two to do a song. It was the very first time you all ever played together in person. It was fantastic!                            So, John, tell the audience your connection to Linda Ronstadt and how you came about meeting Ronstadt Revue.           Jess, the night you all did the concert in Brenham, last year, how did the experience performing with the iconic John Beland go?  We are going to be playing some clips from several of the songs you played that night. In fact, they are off your current and first Live CD, right? Tell us about it, Jim. You all need to know - Jim is the steel guitar player in the band.                  John, there's a story you tell about the song that you did with Linda on Long Long Time. Would you share it?    (Play the song with Ges intro of John) Ges, I have to ask you - how do you get in the moment when singing Ronstadt songs? Are you looking in the audience's eyes? What are you focusing on?    One of the power ballads that you do absolutely slays me - it's Someone to Lay Down Beside Me. Where's it coming from when you are singing that song?  John, you did a collaboration with Ges on line in respective studios on Winwood's Can't Find My Way Back Home. What was the inspiration of doing that song with Ges?                    I have to say, Jim, the mix of this live CD was genius. How much did you have to do in post production to meet your satisfaction? Is the whole band also giving input or do they pretty much leave it up to you?                          Two of my Ronstadt favorites are Blue Bayou & Desperado - judging by the audience reaction during that night's performance, they knew you were going to nail them! No es algo que sea particular de las distribuciones Linux, sino que es una posibilidad para otros muchos Sistemas Operativos como MacOS o Windows. Evidentemente la ventaja de un Live USB es precisamente la de probar un Sistema Operativo antes de instalarlo en tu equipo. Esto te permitirá saber si es lo que necesitas o por el contrario, no se adapta a tus necesidades. Sea como fuere es una interesante opción a tener muy en cuenta. Pero también te da opción a otras soluciones como la de llevar tu oficina en un bolsillo. Sin embargo, un Live USB tiene también una interesante utilidad, que es la de proporcionarte la posibilidad de tener una instalación completa de tu Sistema Operativo preferido, sin necesidad de instalarlo en tu equipo. De esta forma puedes llevar tu memoria USB donde quieras, arrancar el equipo contra esa memoria USB y comenzar a trabajar. Si te estás preguntando si se van a perder tus datos. Depende. Y digo depende porque aquí es donde empieza el tema de hoy, si creas un Live USB con persistencia no te tienes que preocupar por ello. No solo la personalización que hayas realizado a tu sistema operativo quedará ahí. También lo que hayas instalado, los documentos que hayas generado, en fin todo, estará ahí. Tu oficina en un bolsillo Así, en el podcast de hoy te hablaré sobre Live USB con persistencia o como llevar tu oficina en un bolsillo. Como te decía en la introducción, los Live USB es una solución que no es exclusiva de tu Sistema Operativo preferido. ¿De donde viene los Live USB? Antes de los Live USB estaba los Live CD. Recuerdo todavía que tengo un Live CD que me envió Canonical con la instalación de Ubuntu 8.04. Los Live CD y posteriormente los Live USB se han utilizado y todavía se utilizan para la reparación de ordenadores. En este Live USB se encuentra un Sistema Operativo realmente ligero, con las herramientas necesarias para reparar el ordenador en cuestión. De hecho, hace un par de semanas, utilizamos uno para realizar una copia de seguridad de un Windows 10, restaurarla y restaurar el Sistema Operativo…. y todo ello con una distribución ligera de Linux. Eso si, no te sabría decir cual es. Ventajas y limitaciones Desde luego, para mi, la ventaja de tener un Sistema Operativo en una memoria USB supera cualquier otra limitación. Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Bill Toms joined Pittsburgh’s legendary band, The Houserockers, as lead guitarist in 1987. The band’s meteoric rise into the professional music scene enabled Bill to tour the United States and Europe repeatedly. While with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers he opened for and played with a long and impressive list of notables, such as The Band, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Little Feat and Stevie Ray Vaughn. During his 20 years of playing guitar, co-writing, and singing back-up vocals for the Houserockers, Toms recorded six studio albums and one live concert album. In 1995, the acclaimed CD, “American Babylon,” was recorded and produced by Bruce Springsteen. Bill Toms’ solo performances have taken him all over the United States and Europe.
