In today's episode I wanted to sum up my final trimester of pregnancy. Now I am recording this at week 34 so there is still a bit of time before bub comes and I am sure there will be many changes I don't address that will occur between now and labour but I wanted to make sure this episode went up and I didn't miss it because bub came early or I was too busy, baby brain to remember to record this. In today's we are joined by the incredible Tyler Mahoney. Tyler is an advocate for mental health and an open book when it comes to her own journey with type 1 bipolar. I originally asked to speak with Tyler for an episode to be realised later in the year for mental health month but found this conversation so enlightening I couldn't hold onto it for any longer. The wisdom and kindness Tyler speaks from really does connect back to the relationship and self-care she has for herself and for that reason I have bumped the conversation to this month. I really hope you get a lot out of this conversation. In a time where everything seems so uncertain and stress it an all time high, I could not think or a better time to release this episode. We are all starting to find that we have more time to ourselves so what better time c to learn how to meditate. This episode really puts meditation into perspective and while we recorded this well before the COVID-19 virus crisis, I do believe Kirsty O'Brien speaks well about how meditation can help in times of unease and complete hardship. I am really excited and pleased this question has come up because your body is a complex mechanism. Its not just what you eat that is important but also when you eat as your body clock, metabolism and digestion must all work together. For decades we have all been told that weight gain and dietary linked diseases have all been at the hands of what we ate and the imbalance in calories consumed verses calories burnt. What scientists are finding now is that the timing of when we eat is also an important influence on health. Its not just what you eat but when you eat that matters. March's Offer: Not only for this month but the foreseeable future The Zesty Life is teaming up with Dr. Nick Fuller and the Interval Weight Loss program to offer you a free first month on the IWL Program! Today's episode is a solo episode where the purpose is to give you back the power when it comes to choosing and eating food. I don't believe there are good or bad foods, all foods play an important role and once we have the understanding around how they are made and marketed I believe we can make more informed decisions on what we want to consume. Food should not be something that makes us fearful or feel shame, as long as we are fueling our bodies with sufficient whole foods then I do not see how soul foods can't be an important part of our lives too.
