Ben Hunt-Davis won a gold medal in rowing at the Sydney Olympics and shares some of his big lessons in mindsets. It was by no means an easy journey to his gold medal and Ben was an athlete for many years and only managed his medal on his last Olympics before retirement. He learned a lot of lessons on the way and shares his insights on mindsets and the importance of deliberate practice over relying purely on physical ability. His book 'Will it make the boat go faster' is a great read if you want to learn more from his experiences. Special Guest: Ben Hunt-Davis.

Will You will be what you will to be; Let failure find its false content In that poor word “environment,” But spirit scorns it, and is free, It masters time, it conquers space, It cows that boastful trickster Chance, And bids the tyrant Circumstance Uncrown and fill a servant's place. The human Will, that force unseen, The offspring of a deathless Soul, Can hew the way to any goal, Though walls of granite intervene. Be not impatient in delay, But wait as one who understands; When spirit rises and commands, The gods are ready to obey. The river seeking for the sea Confronts the dam and precipice, Yet knows it cannot fail or miss; You will be what you will to be! ~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox Watch this video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/rgxGr2iJWJA #Will #LifeChangingPoem #SimerjeetSinghPoems #PoetryThatInspires #EllaWheelerWilcox #EnglishPoems #Poetry #Poem #Poems Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/simerjeetsingh

Matt and Sam talk to two esteemed guests, Rick Perlstein and Leon Neyfakh, about why U.S. politics took a right turn in the 1970s. “We organize discontent,” as one New Right activist put it—and they did. Fierce battles over desegregation, gay rights, abortion, and the meaning of America itself all paved the way for Ronald Reagan's smashing victory in 1980.Over four books and two decades, historian Rick Perlstein has chronicled the rise of movement conservatism in America, starting with its renegade beginnings in the 1950s and '60s. Now, with Reaganland (2020), his extraordinary tetralogy is complete—taking readers on a journey through Jimmy Carter's doomed administration, the culture wars of the 1970s, and Ronald Reagan's campaign for the presidency. Perlstein's sweeping narrative is paired in this episode with the brilliant work of journalist Leon Neyfakh, who just finished the third season of his podcast Fiasco. It's a deep-dive into the battle over integration in Boston public schools during the 1970s (colloquially but inaccurately known as the Boston "busing crisis")—a vivid and compulsively listenable portrait of a pivotal episode in recent American history. In this conversation, Rick and Leon disinter forgotten figures from a decade crucial to the rise of conservatism—the 1970s—while discussing how they tell stories we know the ending to, the problem of contingency and political agency, and issues such as American innocence, white backlash, right-wing rhetoric, and more. Tuesday night, Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Trump met in Cleveland, Ohio for the first Presidential Debate of 2020. For 90 minutes, the candidates debated topics ranging from the Supreme Court to COVID-19, as well as one segment on race and policing. It was during that section that President Trump made the biggest news of the night in refusing to denounce white supremacists. He told the Proud Boys, a violent hate group, to “stand back and stand by.” Trump’s spokespeople have since claimed the president meant to tell them to “stand down,” but that’s not how social media and many Americans heard those words. From a podium six feet away, Joe Biden, who has said he got into the race because of Trump’s Charlottesville comments, had his own past to answer for. He's one of the authors of the harsh 1994 Crime Bill. Biden has since championed policing reform, but he still hasn’t gone as far as many on his left would like and pushed for police defunding. In the debate, he walked a political tightrope with progressives on one side and moderate voters on the other. Political analyst Tiffany Cross is a frequent contributor to MSNBC and the author of Say It Louder: Black Voters, White Narratives, and Saving Our Democracy. She joined Trymaine Lee to unpack the debate. For a transcript, please visit https://www.msnbc.com/intoamerica. We are all born dignified but somewhere along the way we lose our dignity due to factors like the society, our families, people we're in a relationship with, and a lot more. English Worship Sermons @ Sekwang Korean Presbyterian Church
[Jeremiah 7:1-11] 1. This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD : 2. "Stand at the gate of the LORD's house and there proclaim this message: " 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the LORD. 3. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. 4. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, "This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!" 5. If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, 6. if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, 7. then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever. 8. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless. 9. " 'Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, 10. and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, "We are safe"-safe to do all these detestable things? 11. Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD.
There's a highly sensitive flat, which would prefer to live in California instead of damp Cornwall, England. But her narcissistic owner isn't interested in her needs, assuming she's as robust as himself. When the damp patch on the ceiling grows bigger and bigger, he blames it on his tenants. Claiming, that the freshly moved in tall boyfriend is using too much oxygen. A device gets installed, measuring how much air the couple is using. When it has reached a certain limit, the alarm goes off. The question is: 'Will there be a resolution to the problem or will the tenants have to dive with oxygen masks through their flat instead?' The highly sensitive flat has been written and recorded by Anja Kersten http://anjakersten.com. Isn't it amazing how quickly the world has changed? Erin and Nicole reunite after Erin's cruise (!) to reconnect with each other and connect with you. They realize that in crisis comes clarity; and when you are feeling like crap doing things for others is the best way out. Trying to see the secret silver linings in all the madness, Erin Hatzikostas and Nicole Licata Grant sit down for another 'How Was Your Week?' episode, to help each other and, hopefully all of you, navigate these difficult and confusing times. Erin asks Nicole to explain from her expert viewpoint on the front lines of crisis now and in the past how she approaches a situation of this scale. And here's the punchline: follow your gut and instinct to combat uncertainty, but ensure that every movement matter and has purpose. Also, letting go of guilt and shame. In a global pandemic, with a lack of products in supermarkets, Nicole orders a pizza and finds handy napkins to replace the missing toilet paper - so remember to support your local businesses, you might even find/repurpose some handy survival gear in these trying times! Erin tells some vacation stories, from when she was away and only semi-aware of the unfolding events. She talks about suffering some toilet-paper-trauma at a water park. Her advice? Never, ever, give in to peer pressure if your gut says no. And all Nicole's mom needs to "keep on cookin'" during this time is a half-gallon of "Auntie Arwen's Ultimate Garlic Insanity" from a stand at the Country Fair last year. Hooray for internet shopping and home-based business! Erin truth-tells about the effect this pandemic is having on her business, and how she's adapting to that, and finding inspiration to use her skills to help people at a time where a lot of people will need help. This leads to a deeper conversation on the economy, how businesses are coping and changing in general, and the innovation that can come from hard times. Nicole talks about her proposal to get extra funding, when called into a meeting and given on the spot instructions to come up with a game plan. They end with a not on how to work together with your boss or your employees. They help you see that your relationship with your boss should be less of a one-way street than you realize, but rather a yin & yang relationship. Everyone needs helps and advice and guidance. Especially in times like these. Stay safe, stay sensible, help each other out, and we will get through this. Together. How people who have researched and created environmental or health care developments have been driven out or their ideas wiped away by big corporations. The history and relationship of soil and science both in the past and now. Modern technology vs. ancient technology - Why we can't produce or reproduce today what our ancestors could in the past. Instant gratification and the negative impact it has had on society. The deeper connection between ourselves and nature that our ancestors had that we're now lacking in modern society. Various chemicals and additives that are put in our food and are causing health problems, emotional hunger, and depression. The negative effects of children not eating nutritious foods and exercising enough as far as their education, physical health, and mental health. What we can learn and take away from the ancient lifestyles of Native Americans and our ancestors. The effect of various pollutants on our bodies and hormones. The problem with vaccinations and whether or not they're actually beneficial for us. How society has been brainwashed to believe in vaccinations and taking prescribed medicine when they probably don't even need them after all. Power Quotes From Part 1 "The human body is a very complex, cybernetic system and scientific double-blinded research is both isolating information and presenting very bold assertions about the body without realizing that there could also be a knock-on effect. Science is good at objectifying snapshots about your health but they don't tell you a single thing about how you became ill. Your mind and body become ill when you don't live a natural life in harmony with the earth, stars, and universe." - Paul Chek "Man will continue to invent technologies outside of himself until he realizes that every technology he builds is actually already present within himself. The question is, 'Will he destroy the earth before he figures it out?' " - Paul Chek quoting Rudolf Steiner. "Today, people cannot focus, think, nor want to do the work and they want everything quick. Society is now at a place where if we don't become conscious in a timely matter, we could collapse at any moment." - Paul Chek “There is more to food than just feeding your body. The physical body feeds on food, the emotional body feeds on emotions, and the mental body feeds on thoughts and ideas. Today, there are so many ideas and we’re confused; we don’t know who to believe. So, we end up with a mental hunger for the truth. Because our mind isn’t satiated, we don’t feel safe and we end up emotionally hungry for connection.” - Paul Chek "When you grow your own food, hunt it, or eat it with your hands, you don't only experience a level of physical satiation but a higher level of emotional connection and satisfaction with the earth as well." - @PaulChek on @WellnessForce Radio http://bit.ly/wfpodcast Links From Today's Show Paul Chek Facebook Twitter Instagram LinkedIn The C.H.E.K.
