Katie Haldane has studied the book of Revelations as part of her Masters of Theology along with teaching on the book for the last 10 years. Join her as she unpackages this amazing text.

It's a book of hope; a book of power.Let's get back to the original intention of the book of revelation by understanding the imagery of the text through understanding the context in which the book was written."My job is to take this from being seen as a book of misery to a book of hope!"

Imagine growing up with Jesus as your older brother? Would you believe that he was the messiah? This is the book written by James, the brother of Jesus. A book chock full of wisdom that shows us how to act in the circumstances that we face. James tells us if we lack wisdom then we should just ask.

It is not about us getting the anointing for ourselves but about sharing the anointing with others. Jesus sends us out as his messengers to spread this good news.

The busier you get in life- whether that is church ministry, your business, your family or something else- the more important it is to have solitary time with Jesus. Your best decisions will hinge on the personal ministry that you receive when you spend time with the Lord. We see this in chapter 5 as Jesus 'often withdrew to lonely places and prayed' and in the same chapter, his ministry gains momentum as he heals the sick, he chooses his disciples and he teaches the people.

When times of testing are really purpose-built missions. Straight after Jesus is filled with the Holy Spirit, he is led into the wilderness and tempted by Satan. We hear in this episode Katie narrating the scriptures with Satan taunting Jesus, saying "If you are...".When your identity is questioned, the very weapon that Jesus used here is the same weapon that we should use - the word of God!

What happens when the sign that you've been waiting for happens before your very eyes? In this episode, we see the action begin to ramp up as John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus who was leaping in the womb in chapter 2, is now preaching from out of the wilderness and declaring the one who is to come - Jesus! Katie unpacks this chapter for us and helps us to see how the ministry of Christ is built upon a message of repentance.
