This Sunday we continue our new series, Jesus Revealed with Senior Pastor Steve Campbell.

After Joni Eareckson Tada’s mother died, Joni thought about Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians where he described how our bodies are like “jars of clay” that hold the treasure of Christ’s presence. She mused about a twenty-first century equivalent to describe our earthly bodies—a cardboard box. She knew her mother’s “box” with its worn-out corners and bends was now empty but, she reflected, it was a box they’d treasured, “the vessel in which the treasure of the Spirit of Christ had dwelt.” As Joni notes, those who follow Jesus let Him shine through them, often in spectacular ways through the creases and holes as their boxes falter and begin to collapse with age. In this she followed Paul’s words about the treasure appearing in jars of clay because it would reveal that “this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). Although Paul was “hard pressed” and “perplexed” with what he suffered, he was not “crushed” or “destroyed” (vv. 8–9). Through his sufferings in his body he knew that Christ’s life would be revealed. How’s your cardboard box? You might feel the creases grow larger as you groan under the weight of pain or disease. Know, however, that Jesus is being revealed in your body (v. 10). As you submit to Him, He’ll shine His light through you, that those who are in darkness may receive His love and His life.

Jesus is Revealed plainly in the lives of those who have received His Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17: But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Our speech, our demeanor, our actions will reveal Him. Not OUR works in our flesh, but His Spirit living through us will be for His Glory. Do we still fail? Yes. But how do we react when we do?

When Jesus comes into your life, He doesn't just leave a little mark identifying you as His own child. Instead, He completely transforms your life and makes you into a new creation. In today's message, Pastor Gary teaches you that salvation isn't something you can fake because it involves a life change that you cannot accomplish on your own. If someone claims to follow Jesus but doesn't show signs of that transformational power, they have yet to fully surrender to the will of Jesus. It's all or nothing.

It's easy for us to forget that the Trinity is both one God and three persons. What this means for us is that one member of the Trinity will not contradict the other. In this powerful exploration of Revelation 1:9-20, we're invited to see Jesus as He truly is - the cosmic Christ walking among us. This vivid description challenges our often sanitized view of Jesus, revealing Him in all His glory and majesty. The passage paints a picture of Christ that's both awe-inspiring and intimidating, reminding us of His supreme authority and power. Yet, this same Jesus, in all His glory, chooses to walk among His churches, demonstrating His unfailing love and commitment to us. This revelation calls us to approach our faith with both reverent fear and bold confidence. We're encouraged to see beyond the 'matrix' of our everyday lives and recognize the spiritual realities at work around us. How might this vision of Christ transform our worship, our prayers, and our daily walk with Him?

In this powerful exploration of Revelation chapter 1, we're invited to see Jesus revealed in a new light. The vivid imagery of Christ standing among seven lampstands, with eyes like flames of fire and a voice like rushing waters, isn't meant to frighten us, but to draw us closer. This Jesus holds the keys to death and Hades, having conquered them through His death and resurrection. We're challenged to consider: what parts of our lives are we still holding back from God? Like knights baptized with swords held above water, we often try to keep control over certain areas. Yet Christ calls us to full surrender, promising that His fiery gaze will burn away anything separating us from Him. This message urges us to fall at Jesus' feet in awe, but also to rise up, empowered by His touch and reassuring words: 'Fear not.'
