This episode will summarize the general challenges people face and how this podcast and which episode of this podcast series will help to address those challenges. During the course of my life, I transformed my attitude by making an effort to listen and grasp various learnings. In the process, I assured myself that the learnings were valuable and they would work. With immense faith, I began to practice what I learned. And thankfully they worked for me. It is never too late to start anything. The day starts only when your eyes open. Are you ready to open your eyes? Please don't take the small things for granted. Practice excellence in every little thing you do, be it rehearsing for a music performance or a dance presentation, formatting a letter, or doing spellcheck on emails before sending them. Our internal systems don't know whether it is a rehearsal or a real event. Every small thing really matters to stand out. There is no point in achieving and accomplishing anything in life unless you know how to enjoy it. In the end, it is not about reading books, listening to discourses, and learning scriptures. Pick one mental philosophy and make that your point of focus. Live your life with a single-minded focus with that philosophy. Keep reminding yourself that a time will come when that mental philosophy will become your nature. Then pick up the next philosophy and do the same. Continue this for the rest of your life. You will discover a holistic life. Let me know how the game goes! This is the final episode and concludes this podcast series. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions @ unlockinnerpeace@gmail.com or go to this link below and submit your questions. I will create a separate episode to answer your questions. Have a remarkable and peaceful life. Remain calm and stay positive Link for QnA https://tinyurl.com/5ju37nk --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/murali-swaminathan/message

PART III: Stress and Success: Chapter 18: What is Success?

Part I of this podcast series has covered a basic understanding of our mind, with an emphasis on life's essential facts. We have now understood how to build self-belief, grow a healthier subconscious mind, develop the courage to face any situation and finally build solid self-confidence and self-esteem. Part II of this podcast series uses these foundational qualities to cultivate consistent habits. These habits are not difficult to follow but it takes a decent amount of willpower, determination, interest, discipline, and sincerity to develop a new habit. But this is entirely in our control. If you want to add a good habit to your life, you must focus on doing it daily. When you practice a habit regularly, it becomes a part of your everyday routine. The key to victory is maintaining consistency. Part III of this podcast series uses all the previous episodes' learnings and describes the habits that will alleviate stress and help you face any challenging situation. These habits will help you to look at any problem differently and will change your perspective. It also talks about the definition of success and will throw light on how to define success and be successful. This chapter will describe the meaning of success. One of the most important steps to achieving success in life is to know the meaning of success in your personal life. The true meaning of success goes far beyond the standard definitions, such as having a lot of money, having many tangibles, earning degrees, and achieving fame. The true meaning of success is different. Real success in life cannot be measured with the factors mentioned earlier, but it is viewed in terms of the people who can lead a better and more advanced life because of what you have created. That is the meaning of success. We don't grow when things are easy. We grow when we face challenges. Success has a direct connection with action. Successful people keep moving; they make mistakes, but they don't quit. Link for QnA https://tinyurl.com/5ju37nk Bibliography 1. https://www.success.com/ a. When you go through difficult times, it's hard to see the good that exists amid your troubles. But, by being more grateful for what you do have, you can increase your happiness by 25%, according to Dr. Robert Emmons, a psychology professor at the University of California, Davis. Develop a new perspective on life. Develop gratitude for life. Take stock of all that are you are left with. Put that to use, make it count. · It doesn't matter how much you have. What really matters is what you do with what you have. · How will you ensure that you always use what you have? If you want to add a good habit to your life, you must focus on doing it daily. When you practice a habit regularly, it becomes a part of your everyday routine. The key to victory is maintaining consistency. Meditation is a new trend that is catching the fancy of many these days. Some of us have been fortunate enough to have learned some meditation techniques at a young age. Meditation is about thinking deeply or focusing one's mind for a while, in silence or with the aid of chanting. It could be done for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation. People who meditate have clearer minds and a better attitude toward the tasks they have to do even if they don't want to do them. Practice silence for at least 15 minutes a day. Choose any meditation method that is comfortable to you. Like eating and sleeping, ‘non-doing' has to become a part of your life. Meditation is powerful only if there is the continued practice of meditation. This is the key to deriving maximum benefits from meditation. By practicing meditation every day, your thinking and your perspective toward problems will change. You will be much calmer in your mind, and your confidence will be at the highest. Bibliography 1. If you want to add a good habit to your life, you must focus on doing it daily. When you practice a habit regularly, it becomes a part of your everyday routine. The key to victory is maintaining consistency. This something that is beyond our control is what we call God or a higher force. By following certain spiritual practices, you can train your mind to be stronger and keep your humility under control. This will help you keep moving, irrespective of the outcome. When you bow, kneel and pray, you cleanse your mind and remove your ego. Typically, when you go to a temple, church, or mosque or pray at home, you should leave all your problems to the higher force and have only faith in you. We all need an anchor of faith to hold on to. Sometimes, when things go wrong, our confidence may get ruffled. We can restore confidence in ourselves only when we have the anchor of ‘faith'. Prayer is a feeling of surrender, wherein you assume that a higher power or force is standing above and beyond us. Prayer doesn't remove our challenges. It gives us the confidence to resolve our problems or difficulties. Prayer gives inner peace and self-confidence to a person so that they can solve their problems. Bibliography 1. From a king to a pauper, from the busiest person to the laziest person, second to second, minute to minute, and hour to hour, everyone has the same time on hand. All of us have 24 hours a day. But how we use our time is different. Time management is not about tools. It is about self-discipline. There is a need for an attitudinal shift in the person who uses time. Without this change, nothing is going to change. Time management is not a skill, it is an attitude. You should first understand "that on which you invest your time, grows and that on which you starve your time, shrinks". How do you manage your time? You have to bring discipline into your life, time for everything and everything in its time. There has to be absolute clarity on this. Bibliography 1. The key to victory is maintaining consistency. Have you ever felt as if stress, anxiety, depression, or anger is controlling you? Do you often act impulsively? Do you say things you know you shouldn't, only to regret later? Or do you feel disconnected from your feelings and emotionally numb? These can all be signs that you need to work on building your emotional intelligence. By learning to keep stress and emotions in check, you'll not only improve your communication with others, but you'll also be able to get off the ‘emotional roller coaster', get rid of mood extremities and bring balance to your life. Something + Acceptance = Positive Emotions Something + Non-acceptance = Negative Emotions Life has not been designed to oblige your emotions; your emotions do not change anything in life. When you face a consequence, you have to accept it. This acceptance is a positive emotion. If you ever feel a little disturbed at any given stage in your life, you must ask yourself this question: who or what am I not accepting that is disturbing me? When you do this, you turn non-acceptance into acceptance. Acceptance will ensure your positive emotions are preserved. The key to victory is maintaining consistency. Being a wonderful person with purity in thoughts does not depend on your religion, status in life, skin color, political views, or culture. It depends on how you treat others and how you treat yourself. Other factors too decide what makes a person remarkable, and many notable writers have explained these factors in their writings, but being the right person won't matter if we are not good to ourselves. Proof of true spiritual evolution lies in the beautification of our intentions. The world may dirty you at the external level, but only you can dirty yourself inside. If you become beautiful inside, you don't have to go on a pilgrimage in search of God. God will come in search of you. It is not by conquering the world that you feel complete about yourself. It is by conquering yourself that you feel complete about yourself. This is self-mastery. Compete with the purity of intention. Your intention should be to win, not to defeat anyone. Bibliography 1. The culmination of all these is possible only if you have extreme willpower. It is the power to rise against your instincts. The most incredible moment of pride in your life is when you are growing in your own eyes. The most significant setback is when you fall in your own eyes. This catharsis is called the art of reparenting yourself. Bibliography 1. Willpower - Mahatria on Willpower https://www.infinitheism.com/ 2. As humans, the relationships we form with other people are vital to our mental and emotional well-being and our survival really. Humans have an inherent desire to be close to other people and to connect with others and build relationships. Healthy relationships (romantic relationships, friendships, or familial relationships – they all count!) can help make our life healthier overall. But what exactly does a healthy relationship look like to us? Since we have many topics to cover, I will split this chapter into two episodes. This is section 2 of this chapter and this episode will cover the commitment in a relationship, parenting: peer acceptance, possessiveness, and the overprotective and how to overcome the bitter past. Quit complaining about the past and start living a new life by feeling entirely responsible for the choices you execute. No matter how much you yell that the world is wrong, that will not make your life right. It is not a question of whose mistakes; it is a question of whose life. It is your life that is at stake. Remember this road sign — a U-turn. Whatever the circumstances you face in life, somewhere in the background, always remember and visualize this road sign.
