Unscripted on Lunchtime Live

Amanda spoke to Susan today about how some people think she is less important or that her time is not as valuable because she doesn't have a partner, she feels at times she is being taken advantage of. We had many calls from listeners on how to tackle this with colleagues, employers and family without causing a fight or appearing like a victim.

We spoke to Siobhan today about the recent diagnosis of her daughters Dyslexia. It took five years to get the condition confirmed and since then the Department of Education have not been very helpful to her. Siobhan tells Susan how difficult and expensive it is and how she feels more should be done to help. We also had many calls in reaction to this, telling us there stories.

We spoke to Lyn today about an awkward situation when she holidayed in Spain with her family this year. Through her kids, Lyn and her husband met up with another family and ended up spending several uncomfortable evenings at Bingo and Magic. This was not the plan, but they ended up spending lots of time with this other couple and their kids. They even went to a remote beach one day. They were a lovely family but it didn't mean she wanted to spend time from her precious family holiday making small talk with strangers. Is it anti social to want to avoid new friends on your family holiday? Or is it ok to just chill out with your own family?

Today, we got some parenting advice from psychiatrist Brendan Kelly. We heard all about difficult children when listeners got in touch and told us about their kids who are angels in public and abusive at home. We also spoke to one mother who thinks her son should be paying his own way now that he's working.

One of our listeners Cathy got in touch asking us to discuss Jason Momoa getting body shamed online because he's “fat now” and has a “dad bod”. Have we lost the plot? Have men's body standards changed? Have you been fat shamed? Listeners tell us what they think.

First up for Unscripted a listener is being affected by gossip in his workplace. Rumours about him being romantically linked to a female colleague and it's untrue. Have you been the victim of gossip? 

A listener got in touch about being how bragging parents gets on their wick!  Many proud parents got in touch.  

A listener wants us to talk about litter on today's show. Are we a messy nation? New research has found that fewer than half of all littering fines are paid. What can we do to tackle this?

Gráinne wanted us to talk about the climate emergency - with many listeners chiming in with their opinions.

John got in touch about his experience of feeling 'cast - claustrophobia'. 

A listener and Drogheda resident got in touch with  our unscripted show to ask could we discuss the ongoing violence in Drogheda. So, we did. 

Tracy wanted to discuss her situation when it comes to respite and loco parentis for this week's Unscripted. 

Listener Alison emailed the show asking whether or not her 8 year old son is too young to walk to school with his friends.

Lesley Ann O'Brien got in touch with show about her struggles with getting supports for her children. 

A listener got in touch about wanting another child and discovering her husband doesn't want another.  Many listeners gave their views.

43 year old married mother of 3 got in touch with Ciara, stressing her uneasy marital situation after her husband's period of adultery. She tells Ciara how her confidence is shattered, how she's dealing with different emotions; including embarrassment, anger, sadness and resentment. Ciara asks Psychotherapist Ray O’Neill and listeners, can you rebuild a relationship after adultery?

Karen spoke to Ciara about how and why we shouldn't judge other parents.  'You don't know what life anybody is living' .

Thousands of students are taking part in school strikes for action on climate change. Ciara talks to some of the students taking part in the demonstration.
