Matt and Jordan check out Julian Schnabel’s In The Hand of Dante, a rare midsummer Netflix prestige picture with a stacked cast that includes Oscar Isaac, Al Pacino, Gerard Butler, John Malkovich, Jason Momoa, and Martin Scorsese as a bearded medieval sage. Despite the talent and the reliably gorgeous cinematography, Schnabel’s film might be the worst thing Matt and Jordan have had to endure through the show’s first twelve episodes. Also on the show, some Dante-inspired streaming recommendations and streaming recs for a listener who shares little in common (movie-wise) with his spouse. And the debut of “What’s In A Name,” a new movie trivia game. SUPERGIRL, the follow-up to James Gunn's SUPERMAN from last year, has finally hit theaters, and people are being totally chill and not weird at all about it. Just kidding! The discourse has reached a fever pitch, but does the movie, starring Milly Alcock as the titular heroine with an assist from Jason Momoa as Lobo and David Corenswet returning as the Man of Steel, deserve the divisive response it's getting? Roxy and DJ try to decode what has made this movie in particular such a flashpoint in the fandom!Check out DJ's New Comic!https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/djtalkstrash/dangerboi2?ref=rn86a7More DJ!https://www.youtube.com/djtalkstrashMore Roxy! https://www.youtube.com/roxystriarTheme Music by: Steven James SchmidtFor exclusive bonus podcasts like What We're Into, Mutant Academy, and more, check out our Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/OnlyStupidAnswers
Hollywood's newest Supergirl is kind of a dirtbag — in the good way. Fearless and grumpy, Supergirl (Milly Alcock) sets out on a quest to support a new pal's revenge journey and to make a point that should be clear by now: Never mess with a lady's dog. Also featuring David Corenswet and Jason Momoa, is Supergirl a worthy follow up to Superman? If you want more DC superhero action, check out these episodes: 'Superman' takes off and nails the landing'The Batman' puts the emo in emoteConnect with Pop Culture Happy Hour:Letterboxd / FacebookOur weekly newsletterSupport Pop Culture Happy Hour+See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for sponsorship and to manage your podcast sponsorship preferences.NPR Privacy Policy
America is celebrating its 250th birthday... and naturally The Rizzuto Show immediately derails the conversation by asking the only question that matters: what ridiculous stuff deserves to survive another 250 years? This daily comedy show goes completely off the rails as the crew debates whether future civilizations need Crocs, Stanley Cups, Ring doorbell raccoon footage, Shake Weights, CVS receipts, a single lost AirPod, Nicolas Cage himself, or maybe just Dolly Parton's legendary wigs.Speaking of Dolly, Lern dives into Dolly Parton's brand-new Tennessee travel stop, complete with BBQ, showers, merch, sparkling guitars, and enough Southern charm to make every interstate exit jealous. The conversation quickly snowballs into which musicians deserve their own themed truck stops around America, leading to debates over Nelly, Chuck Berry, Metallica, KISS, and who really owns Missouri music history. Then it's celebrity chaos as the crew breaks down the latest rumors surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's reported multi-day wedding celebration. Is Madison Square Garden really the right place? Is America being upstaged during its own birthday? And how much New York traffic can one celebrity wedding possibly create?Music fans also get plenty to chew on with Bring Me The Horizon's brutally heavy throwback release, Jason Momoa reflecting on hosting Black Sabbath's farewell celebration, memories from Ozzy Osbourne's final performances, Metallica box sets, Chris Cornell reissues, and new albums worth checking out.The celebrity news doesn't stop there. Chet Hanks hilariously leans into his own reputation in a new commercial, Kylie Jenner faces another lawsuit, Prince William officially joins the billionaire club, and the crew remembers legendary Blood, Sweat & Tears vocalist David Clayton-Thomas while celebrating one of classic rock's greatest voices.Movie fans aren't left out either. The gang reviews early reactions to Supergirl, talks James Gunn's DC universe, discusses the latest Jackass film, and previews some surprising new releases hitting theaters and streaming. As always, Crap on Celebrities wraps things up with birthdays, entertainment headlines, questionable opinions, and the kind of completely unnecessary debates that somehow become the highlight of every episode. If you enjoy pop culture, weird news, rock music, celebrity gossip, and conversations that spiral from national history into Dolly Parton truck stops in record time, this daily comedy show delivers exactly the kind of beautiful nonsense you've come to expect. Thanks for making The Rizzuto Show part of your day. Whether you're commuting, working, pretending to work, or hiding from your responsibilities, we're happy to provide the soundtrack for your poor life choices. One more thing…If you could put ONE item into America's time capsule that won't be opened until 2276... what would it be?That's the question. And yes, someone absolutely suggested a Big Mac.Because of course they did. This daily comedy show wouldn't have it any other way.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes. While it may come as no surprise, the biggest Marvel news this week is still just as exciting as it is obvious with the revelation that Chris Evans will indeed appear in Secret Wars. While not officially confirmed by Marvel, the news broke via a social media post from March 26, that is just now gaining notice, with the actor himself telling Instagram user @comicconmomsi, "I can tell you that...I start work on the next one in a couple of months, I can tell you that," in a video message. In May, we discussed headlines from sources like Variety and The Wrap that seemingly confirmed Sebastian Stan had been cast as Harvey Dent, as he had long been rumored to be, with Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance announced as Dent's wife and father, respectively. In hindsight, those headlines resulted from Matt Reeve's social media post where he confirmed and welcomed a number of actors as part of the film but did not actually reveal any roles. In the last week, industry insider Jeff Sneider has suggested that his sources claim that Stan will instead play Victor Zsasz and Brian Tyree Henry is set to portray Harvey.
Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Everything old is new again, especially at this week's box office. The Wayans Brothers' nostalgia-driven sequel Scary Movie opened to a franchise best of $55 million. Unfortunately for Masters of the Universe, the 80s-tv show inspired live action adaptation barely scraped more than $29 million - a true bust for a film that cost more than $170 million to make. Horror darlings Obsession and Backrooms are still ruling the roost at theaters, both having crossed over the $200 million threshold this past weekend. Here's the news you didn't know you wanted, Hugh Jackman is set to star in a Ridley Scott-directed adaptation of the truly classic novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Adolescence writer Jack Thorne will pen the script that stars Jackman as the pirate Long John Silver himself. The series is being directed by martial arts master Donnie Yen and is currently in production in Budapest and Hong Kong. Netflix has revealed a first look at Scooby Doo from the upcoming live action Scooby Doo series which will premiere sometime in 2027. A short teaser was also released online to make the reveal. This will be the first time the iconic character will be played by an actual dog. Deadline has reported that Jason Momoa is departing PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures' film adaptation of Helldivers, based on Arrowhead Game Studios' video game franchise, from director Justin Lin. The reason for his departure is unknown.

From Guinness taking over Sydney to Sarah discovering what “splitting the G” actually means, it was one of those shows. We met Hayden, a bloke who somehow needed two million swipes to land his first date, then took a deep dive into the dating profile that may have been holding him back. There was heated debate after a man on Instagram absolutely butchered the pronunciation of “linguini”, plus a wild story from a La La Land concert where an audience member ended up saving the show. We also unpacked a new Aussie study claiming baby brain isn't real, investigated the avalanche of Easter eggs hidden in Taylor Swift’s new Toy Story 5 song announcement, and chatted to Jason Momoa, who accidentally gave Tim the perfect excuse to never go to the gym.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We caught up with Jason Momoa from the set of the new Minecraft movie in New Zealand, where he was keeping plenty of secrets under wraps. Jason chatted about his love of Lego, raising creative kids, spinning soul and funk records in his favourite underground bar, and why World Play Day is all about getting off your devices and using your imagination. Things took a turn when Tim revealed he's never actually been to a gym, only for Jason to admit he'd much rather be climbing trees, surfing and playing sport than lifting weights anyway. Safe to say Tim has now found the world's most famous excuse to never set foot in a gym.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We kick off todays episode with some weekday adventures, This week was all about work with me, nothing else really stood out to me. I got to experience gen z trying to teach folks about a new program and got to see that famous gen z stare. Then I notice my work place is packing back up like days before covid. The work hoochies were out in full affect, and i was looking like antelope to them. From there at the end of the day when i thought nothing else could surprise me, people felt i was being final destinationed, because my book bag got caught between the elevator doors. that franchise has us in a choke hold. ( 00:00 - 24:04 )In the movie review section we talk about film movies and other things and give the worse takes. This week we're critiquing the movie “ FAST X” this movie was a beautiful disaster, so much cringe, but i couldn't help but watch. The whole time watching, i was looking at Jason Momoa like that's a big ass joker, that was the vibe it was giving me. But at the end of the day we all must remember we're all family except for Vince, they violated him.( 24:05 - 32:04 )I then jump into The Cool Report where we discuss Ray J versus the world, because he lost his fight over the weekend. Another battle was the swatch aftermath, and still seeing people lurking around the store for those watches. Then we switch gears and get into the war at the white house, apparently this is a very common thing for shootings to happen there, it's wild to me though. ( 32:05 - 59:04 )We then step into a segment where the listeners ask me 3 questions about myself or just randomness. A character wants to know if it's ok to split the bill with their stud friend, you already know what time it is with me. Speaking of studs i get asked about ice man again like i'm some type of somebody. Then i get asked if i would mod my watch so it can look like an official omega watch.( 59:05 - 01:21:41 )Then we have 2 fans ask us a questions for PTL where we get asked the tough questions where we place ourselves in their shoes. A lover has a question about tricking on girls that are not even in a position to play, tricking on the bench sounds crazy to me. Another lover wants me to tell his girl to mnd their dang business. Don't question my past when your past is questionable too. ( 01:21:42 - 01:30:32 )THE FINThanks to everyone that shows us love and wish y'all the best on the journey called life.( 01:30:33 - 01:33:58 )please continue to like, share, comment and subscribe. Clint Black is on Celebrity Jobber with Jeff Zito this week. What type of work would Clint be doing if not for being a Grammy-winning country music singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and record producer? Many celebrities will tell you that if not for that one lucky break or meeting, they would have been a telemarketer like Jennifer Aniston, or folding t-shirts in a Hawaiian surf shop like Jason Momoa. In other words, they may have been just a jobber. Thanks for listening. Please rate, review, and subscribe to the Celebrity Jobber with Jeff Zito wherever you pod.

Comedian (soon to be film composer?) Eric Andre and composer-producer Prateek Rajagopal (co-writer, executive producer, and the man whose range runs from The Mandalorian to India's premier death metal export GUTSLIT) bring their new BLARF album “Film Scores for Films That Don't Exist” to SCORE. An orchestral fever dream five years in the making, recorded with live players in Los Angeles and Budapest, and the unlikely creative partnership nobody saw coming. And why Eric Andre is ready to become a film composer (and has beef with John Williams). How a Berklee-trained upright bassist became one of comedy's most chaotic forces, and how Prateek — whose credits span Hollywood, Bollywood and immersive media, with contributions to projects by Bobby Krlic, Ludwig Goransson and Joseph Shirley — became the secret weapon who turned five years of Eric's voice memos into a full orchestral album.Plus, why BLARF evolved from sample-clearance nightmares to full symphonic chaos, and what does Dead Ballerina actually look like in their heads? Plus, the Ennio Morricone influence that drives the whole project, the death metal detonation hiding inside the track “What's for Dinner” (guess which one pushed for that), how this album is inspired by Nine Inch Nails' Ghost, and why Eric destroyed a piano with an axe. Also, the unaired Eric Andre Show sketch that passed S&P clearance and still got killed (a pro-Al Qaeda country song he sings in full), details on a role in the new Street Fighter film (Jason Momoa had other plans), and all the times Eric was nearly stabbed, shot or beaten up for his gags.Interview by Kenny Holmes and Matt Schrader at Stonesthrow Studios in Los Angeles. Production coordination by Dan Russell.
