In this podcast, I'm joined by Pete Waddingham, Programme Manager at the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network (YHAHSN), and my partners at Edenic Group, Jamie Del Grosso and Rob Lewis to discuss the role digital is playing in the health sector and what the UK's future healthcare industry might look like, aided by digital. The world population is rising and estimated to be around 50 billion by 2050. In the UK we are living longer and fortunate to have a healthcare system that is free at the point of access. But with a growing and ageing population, do we each need to play a role in supporting the health industry and take some responsibility for our own healthcare? Digital technology is playing an ever-growing role in the health industry. The National Health Service (NHS) and the industry as a whole are looking to explore this for new innovations and solutions to help support the sector, relieve pressure and aid the public in taking preventative measures to ill health and everyday care. This is an insightful discussion, which highlights the many opportunities that can come from embracing digital and the public playing its part to help sustain and support the health, wellness and support sectors.

"Every business is a digital business, they just don't know it yet". This podcast is taken from a recording of our innovation consultancy, Edenic Group's new online panel discussion show, 'Edenic Round Table'. The show features the Edenic team and invited guests discussing the topics of innovation, disruptive thinking, digital technologies, business growth and barriers and innovation culture. In this inaugural episode, the Edenic team, Willis, Rob and Jamie, are joined by Mark Modena, Projects Director at Winning Moves - a business improvement and software development company that specialises in delivering SME support programmes, and Colin Bell, Business Growth Director at the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and also a Management Consultant at Winning Moves. Ahead of a new digital catalyst programme being rolled out to SME businesses across the Humber region, we discuss why it is so important for business leaders and owners to embrace digital technology if they are to survive, grow and innovate. We explore examples of businesses that have failed because they did not adapt to a digital climate and those that have disrupted industries with new, innovative offers. We also discuss why some business leaders are worried about change; how digital adoption may displace jobs, affect bottom lines and disrupt their way of doing business. The "terminator complex". Not everything has to be digital and sometimes does not make sense to be digital, but it would be dangerous to not explore and understand the opportunities that digital technology can provide to a business. If you're a business leader or owner, this is for you. Edenic Group: https://www.edenicinnovations.com/ Winning Moves: https://www.winningmoves.com/

In one of the first episodes of Willis Talks, we get straight down to the serious issues. I'm joined by Dr Diana Taylor, Managing Director of Marketing Humber, otherwise known in the Humber region as Bondholders, and my colleague from Edenic Group, Rob Lewis. Diana talks to us about 'The Waterline', a campaign set up by Marketing Humber and the University of Hull to address the urgent need for decarbonisation in the Humber region. As the highest emitters of carbon in the UK, the Humber Region is at great risk of the effects of climate change and as a low lying estuary, the area is in serious danger of major flooding if we do not tackle this challenge head-on. Based on Bill Gates' 'Five Grand Challenges' The Waterline has been set up to explore innovation, ideas and bring the region together to find solutions for decarbonisation of the area. The Waterline Summit, an exhibition and seminar event has been set up to kick off the decarbonisation journey. Diana explains how we all need to unify and come together to address an issue that affects us all and help the Humber region be the catalyst for global change, as well as leverage the commercial opportunities that can come from meeting the climate change challenge, head-on.
