Good morning and welcome to Tuesday from the GBH Morning Edition team. Joe Mathieu and the crew are up and getting the news copy ready to deliver to you all morning, but before then we all huddle at 4:50AM for Early Edition. This weather continues to amaze us all, and even though we worry about climate change, we can’t help but get outside and enjoy this warmth and unseasonably nice break from fall. More news on the election front as President Trump continues to deny that he lost and the GSA obstructs Biden’s attempts to begin the transition. Good Tuesday morning from the entire WGBH Morning Edition team. Henry Santoro is back in the building again and in for Joe Mathieu. Our listening audience was a big topic of conversation today as we are the first live and local show in Boston to crack the mics every weekday morning at 4:50AM. This of course means a lot of people on the way to their early shifts tune in, including many other radio, television and media personalities. And the Democratic National Convention kicked off last night in a virtual way, and we discuss some of the highlights. Make it a great Tuesday, and thanks for waking up with WGBH Radio.

Welcome to Thursday morning from WGBH Radio’s Morning Edition crew. He’s been promising to shower us in music, and this morning Joe Mathieu delivered… risking the ire of his family by getting loud at 4:50AM, our musical accompaniment this morning is provided by Joe’s guitar. Who needs a closing song when you’ve got Joe Mathieu to play us out? We catch you up on the latest Covid-19 happenings around New England including whether Massachusetts golf courses will finally re-open… and whether that restriction has actually stopped every golfer from doing it anyway. The great Henry Santoro is back in the big chair for Joe Mathieu today on WGBH’s Early Edition. Andrew is back from a week off and in for Karen as the long summer of vacations begin to wind down. Chris Sale of the Red Sox may avoid surgery and that makes Henry wonder if physical therapists are actually fond of torture. And we get you ready for your day with all the news you need at 4:50AM.

We can't leave the boy alone because this is what he does and then I have to edit it and it's 12:50AM and I just want to go to bed because I've been laughing and crying and hfgfhdgfjuygkiu. Please enjoy this rarity at the expense of my sanity and physical wellness. Cheers!

You might’ve seen Nikki Howard on the walls of Equinox Fitness or in an Old Spice commercial. She’s worked with Sprite, GMC, Lucky Brand, Xbox, Bose and American Express. Not only is she a model but she’s an actress and is slowly looking to step in the comedy world. Born in New York and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, she’s a mix of Russian, Polish and Turkish which gives her a distinct look. In high school everyone knew her as the class clown and she joked around a lot, was on the dance team and worked at Starbucks. One of the biggest struggles she’s had to overcome was the death of her father who had committed suicide when she was a kid. What’s she's learned from this experience is that everyone has a story to tell. Nikki went on to attend New York Conservatory For Dramatic Arts for two years and spent sometime in the city getting her name out there. She then moved out to LA where she now resides and is grateful for all the opportunities she’s had in the past. With her first stand up gig at Flappers Comedy Club not too long ago, she wants to continue to test and try comedy outlets and see where it takes her.
