"People don't read books about people who quit!" This is my favorite quote from Marty Happle during this interview! Listen in as he stresses the importance of working with closing attorneys that are investor-friendly. If a closing attorney ever tells you, "That's illegal" just make sure you have them clarify what exact law is being broken. For some, it's simply a scapegoat if they don't have a solution. As Marty says, "You want to find attorneys that are willing to find out HOW the deal can work, NOT what's wrong with it." More on Marty in his own words: Marty Happle, born and raised in Northern New Jersey. My real estate journey started with working in rehabbing major value add multi family properties and doing lockouts for my brother and his partners. This actually turned me off to real estate, so it took me some time to see the value in it. I actually purchased, rehabbed and managed a good amount of property by default working for a large ministry that was quite active in several areas of outreach. I had to manage millions of dollars of properties for years, and I learned a lot doing that and even flipped residential and commercial property by accident without realizing it. I began my calculated pursuit of real estate investing in 2011 with mortgage notes and then I started flipping houses in 2013. I also had some rentals in the hood which is always fun. Now I am only flipping houses and looking to finally expand into larger residential multi family real estate for the long haul. My faith in Jesus and my family are most important to me. I have an amazing wife, Susanna, and 3 of the best looking little boys anyone can set their eyes on. Face book and IG as Marty Happle
Wide-ranging discussion of racism as it relates to where people live, how they earn money, and interact with law enforcement. Being black in America- at least Marty's kind of black -means you cannot move freely through life (at least in the US) without fear of being stopped and questioned. Having to justify your existence is simply not an issue for white people. As Marty says: We do not need to change. We need to be accepted.

Martin Scorsese makes his big Pro/Con debut with "Boxcar Bertha" (1972). As Marty's second feature film, its roughly hewn aesthetic is a perfect match for its subject material. Our guest today is Marty Samples. He's been married to his wife Beth for thirty eight years. He has two adult daughters. Leah, who's a PhD. candidate at Penn for history. Hannah, who's an Accounting Manager at Cummins. Marty's career began in ministry, mostly working with high-risk kids. This was mostly a reflection of the type of environment he grew up in which was very challenging. And he wanted to work with kids who really needed an environment of love, support, and encouragement. Marty says working in ministry with at-risk youth and in reflecting on his own childhood, he recognized the need for a loving and supportive environment. This was his number one priority as a father to create a loving and supportive environment. And to make sure his daughters felt loved and experienced love in our home. Over the course of the years the church communities provided love and support at critical times. One of the most important things about fatherhood is to be a student of your child's design. As Marty reflects on his daughters growth and achievement he shares that it's a privilege to be their father. We talk to Marty about making a career transition in 2003 just have the tech bubble burst and what lessons from the past he's applying to the current situation with corona virus and the economic uncertainty. And also the challenges personally of transitioning from full time ministry and being a leader in the church and now a volunteer it was challenging to make that transition in that environment. And then on the other side, moving out of a working environment in which everyone shared the same faith, core beliefs, and similar lifestyle into auto sports marketing which had various lifestyles was really challenging. He said he sometimes made mistakes and sometimes made the right decision. The biggest challenge is maintaining your own belief system. Marty talks about the parallels between ministry and professional leadership. Being a good leader means empowering people to be their best self and being a student of their design. And also remembering that you're learning from your team and their teaching you how to coach and how to empower. Good leaders are the ones who don't feel they always have to be right, but are really helping others succeed. Marty shares his own struggles with anxiety and the reality of anxiety. He says in the current situation you'd have to be almost totally unaware not to be afraid and anxious to an extent. Being responsible about the things we can control and being content in the things we can control. But the other thing is staying connected, even if virtually. It's really reassuring to stay connected to your family and friends and draw encouragement from one another. The hard part is bottling it up, then you're dealing with it alone. "Being able to verbalize that fear, I am afraid." Marty shares what he's done throughout his life and career to manage his anxiety. The big thing is being able to share his anxiety with friends and family after years of bottling it up and hiding it. He says being able to identify and name your fear has been great. We dive into how Marty navigates sharing his anxiety in the workplace and how he's learning to be more transparent. He says good leaders are factual and straight forward when they share their anxieties. It's not just unloading your fears on others, but sharing with people honestly about the challenges you're facing together. Final words of wisdom: As a dad be vulnerable about your own brokenness. Helping them understand that you're not perfect. While at the same time creating an environment of love and acceptance where they can grow up to be who they were designed to be. Be a student of your child's design and celebrate their differences. RHONJ “To learn more about the real housewives go to bravotv.com” in teresa’s voice… so drab! ACT ONE Checking in with everyone.. Antonia has a boyfriend and is going to high school next year. Oh no.. are we revisiting this baby story again?? Joe then gets confused that there are videos about how to make a baby in school. Yes Joe, it’s called sex education. Joe asks Antonia ‘how does a baby get put in the stomach?” you know he’s asking, not actually quizzing… TERESA AT DANIELLE’S Ugh this friendship was doomed from day one. We just had to wait patiently for this to implode. Teresa fills Danielle in on Easter. Saddest scene ever! GUYS I CALLED IT, STEVEN DANN IS FROM RHONY!!! I SAID IT!!! Marty walks in. Teresa: I know people think it’s weird Danielle and Marty are living together, but they actually get along, and I think they’re still into each other.. Why not live together?? What is this thing in Jersey about exes living together?! It’s like everyone is too lazy to move on. They talk about the dinner on vacation where they tried to figure out if Mary and Danielle slept together. Marty blames Margaret for causing problems. First of all, it’s weird that Margaret and Marty are cool after the shit he said about her. I know you all love that pool moment, but it felt so scripted and contrived to me. I actually think they all agreed to do it for the camera, because the insult to margaret was so out of left field and just happened to be done by a pool. Anyway then Danielle says that it’s margaret’s fault she and Marty had issues. ... it’s no one’s fault he wanted to divorce you. You got in the middle of him and his kids to start with, so already things weren’t going great. Also you’re unstable. ***As Marty explains this, there is a cutaway to Teresa and she looks SO angry and confused, like someone asked her to solve a complicated math problem. So now I’m confused. I guess Teresa is ‘shocked’ that Margaret went to Marty and said ‘teresa said you and Danielle might get back together.’ This to Teresa feels like meddling and she seems really bothered by it. But it’s not like Marty told Teresa, “Margaret told us what you said.” All Marty siad in this scene is that Margaret is trying to get between them. How is that enough for teresa to be so shocked? It’s common knowledge Margaret does’t want them together. Teresa’s lack of understanding of this entire situation is… not surprising, but also she’s so slow its actually painful. ACT TWO Gia prom dress shopping. Gia has a tiny backpack which has been back for years but whyyyyy. I don’t like them. Gia has a very tired energy, which makes sense because her mother is exhausting. She wants something simple for her prom dress. Come onnn it’s Jersey!! Show me a jersey prom dress!! Joe calls. “I’m just askin… how much those dresses go for these days??” Joe IMMEDIATELY goes in on them spending money. I wonder if it was edited that way or if he was fired up out of the gate. Joe is losing his mind and I don’t blame it. Wowww Gia stands up to Teresa and Teresa says “Gia lower your voice”! I’ve never seen her do anything CLOSE to discipling her kids. OMG this is happening on speaker, Gia is super embarrassed. So am I. Gia is pissed that Teresa brought up the pre nup on the phone. Gia shuts it down. Teresa then tells Gia to go with her father, I guess to Italy. SO uncomfortable. Why aren’t we with them in the car ride home??! ACT THREE Jennifer gets ready for Easter. She’s in this pink dress that is kind of like a Jackie O moment except the sleeves look like giant sting rays. This food looks amazing and I want the grape leaves. OMG her mom talks about how when they used to do easter dinner no one moved. Jennifer says that was when you could hit your kids. Her sister goes, “It would be so much easier if we could.” I laughed. Jennifer suggests that her new sister in law could have a baby and jennifer’s son panics when he thinks Jennifer wants one. Jennifer: not for me!! They all laugh. ..meanwhile its a real story for melissa! Jennifer’s daughter brings up her uncle being gay to Jennifer’s mom, and wonders where the church stands on homosexuality. The mom denies it, says she didn’t know that. Jennifer is bothered that her mom is lying to Gabby. The mom avoids and moves on. Gabby is a hero. ACT FOUR I just want to point out we haven’t seen Dolores until this act because she has NO STORY. Ugh this scene is boring. Dolores talking about how slow her relationship with david is going. Who caressss MARGARET MELISSA AND JACKIE AT DINNER Ugh no one wants to hear how sexually active marge senior is. Why is she being thrust upon us?! Melissa fills them in on how awful easter was. They catch up about Danielle, and then Margaret suggests that she and Teresa could be lesbians together. I mean she does talk about Danielle an awful lot. STEVEN DANN I posted the original steven dann scene from RHONY. Check it out. I think this is the same store! Danielle says Margaret has trout mouth… she’s not wrong. Dolores doesn’t understand why Teresa is laughing along with Danielle picking on Margaret. BTW Teresa was the one who brought up the bunyons comment first to Danielle, which got Danielle making fun of her in this scene to begin wtih. Dolores, you’re the one who chose this person to be your friend. Everyone shows up. Why does Marge twist her mouth all the way to the side when she kisses people? Teresa is cold ot Margaret when she approaches her. Based on… nothing. Margaret says I love this store. Teresa goes: Thanks. OMG yes Jennifer walks in and I forgot she had called Danielle by her real name, Beverly. They talk about sex, Melissa says Evan needs to “pick it up a notch.” Danielle tells Teresa that she is bothered that Margaret and there and everyone is surroundig her. Ummm you’re a crazy personnnn! No one wants to be around you!! Danielle commands Teresa to have her back. Teresa: “I’m so pissed right now..” You were’t 2 seconds ago!! Teresa is literally a robot. ACT SIX Teresa marches over and says ‘this is so fucked up.’ What?? Teresa doesnt even care! They stnad in a semi circle and start exchanging insults. Margaret: “I don’t have a problem with you, I want nothing to do with you.” umm but you talk about her constantly… Dolores FINALLY wonders wtf is wrong with teresa to not realize Danielle is a liar. FInally dolores has awoken!! Margaret goes through all the shit Danielle has said publicly about Marty and his kids. Also Margaret, maybe dont be friends with Marty? He’s a complete idiot and called you ugly. Danielle calls out Margaret for cheating on her first husbamd, which honestly is fair game. Woww the breaking point was the titties. Omg these side people in leopard jackets sneaking out of the store. Teresa is basically smiling on the sidelines. Everyone goes in their corners, and then danielle goes ‘i just cant help myself anymoooore’ and grabs Margaret’s hair. Ugh ok that was kind of a great villain moment… Wowww what a great end of this episode. This was like the trip last year with Jennifer breaking the glass. It’s hard to say who is at fault here… On one hand margaret shouldn’t be friends with Marty, he makes terrible decisions and then she stands up for him, but then gets over involved. But Danielle is also a nut and acts crazy (as we saw during her wedding, her fall out with Marty etc… and remember that weird video she posted with that guy she was engaged to and he seemed super drugged up?) Also Teresa once again has the worst instcints of any human ever. RHOD ACT ONE Any does his go arounds and immediately asks Brandy about the other baby… and the baby passed which is awful.. WOW this is so sad out of the gate! There is so much red on these couches. LeeAnne just blurs together in one big sea of red. We have a fun moments package. Andy: LeeAnne are you still high from your wedding? No she was the most miserable human ever after her wedding. Leeanne says the value of the wedding was 4.5 million. You had snacks!!! Andy asks Leeanne about the food. Leeanne says there was paid catering there. Kary asks her what the food was? Leeanne won’t argue about it. Kam said all she saw was sprinkles cupcakes. Kam: Was I starving? 100%. Leeanne’s got NOTHING!! Andy: was the reason you couldn’t have food was because you couldnt afford it? WOOOO andy is messy tonight!!! Leeanne trying to blame production for the break. Andy: That’s not true. Then she backtracks and said SHE didnt want to do one continuous thing for her wedding. So it has nothing to do with production. Wow Andy is going innn it’s so good. Stephanie took it personally that when people called out rich for checking women out at his wedding, Leeanne woudl respond with a hashtag that was something like blametravis. Dandra chimes in with, it was travis made me do it. I love how dandra all season has been on hand to fact check LeeAnne. ACT TWO There’s some more back and forth between D’Andra and LeeAnne about the cheating. Andy lays in on LeeAnne more about the wedding. Brandy said she never would have gone anyway, LeeAnne claims that hurts… which is a lie. Andy asks LeeAnne why in her vows she said she never felt loved or accepted in front of her mom. I do believe that Leeanne was waitingggg to bring her mom to her wedding all this time just to drag her in front of an audience. That was the whole point of that wedding. Kary chimes in that it’s weird Leeanne waited so long to get married and wrote the vows at the cathedral. Kam chimes in that everyone is nitpicking. Andy: Were you happy with your wedding planner’s performance?? Omgggg its so good. ACT THREE Mexico package. Not much to discuss here, other than the room situation, LeeAnne blames it on being drunk. Andy asks Kary about her marriage. ACT FOUR Kary is ‘content.’ Sounds like a fun marriage. Kameron says the word trashy came out of Stephanie’s mouth, and that’s why the word Trashy was implanted in Kameron’s head. UNREAL. It’s almost laughable. This is why I don’t enjoy Kameron. She is judgmental and delusional and plays up her stupidity as an excuse. Kameron and Stephanie get into it over their friendship. Kameron pretends to be upset that Stephanie called her surface and fake cries. Kameron is upset at being called a dumb blond all her life… and then she quotes frozen. And again, this is the same person that said stephanie IMPLANTED a word inside her head! MISERY WARS PACKAGE Leeanne: my past is why i explain myself, just like brandy talked about being called trash. Difference… brandy doesnt like being called trash and it makes her sad. Leeanne talks about her past for treating OTHERS poorly. That’s the shit she needs to move on from. Kary chimes in and LeeAnne tells her to let her finish speaking. ACT SIX Kary and LeeAnne go back and forth. Brandi produces a flask and drinks. Andy: are you sailors? DAndra shuts down the suicide stuff with LeeAnne and talks about her dad killing himself. LEeanne: you never told me that. ...we all knew it!! She’s said it before! WOWWW we get into it next week!! The racism stuff comes out, this idea that it may not have aired comes out, and then kary is upset that they only told her because they found it out it might air.

I’m 22 and sitting in one of many orientation sessions for my first full-time job out of college. The training instructor, a really nice guy who I’ll refer to as Marty, was having us watch a video about coming to work with a positive, can-do attitude. The video was about people who tossed fish for a living. And weirdly, it wasn’t the first time I’d seen it. I remember watching it in my high school English class when I was a freshman, too. In short, it’s about the hardworking people employed at the famous Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. Their job is cold, wet, long, and not to mention, smelly. It’s also a job done in front of an audience, given the hundreds of tourists who pass through every day. There’s every reason that you’d have a less-than-stellar attitude about a fish-hauling job, but that’s the point of this video — they don’t. They’re all happy and cheerful, and they’ve created a fun spectacle of tossing fish from place to place as they work. The way they do their job has become part of the attraction of the market. Anyway, this training video is produced by some company that clearly wanted to create an experience for students, new hires, and anyone else who might need an inspiring lesson about their attitude. So at the end, everyone gets a plush stuffed fish to remind them of the moral of the story. As Marty handed us our fish (this would be my second stuffed fish, though who knows where the high school fish ended up), he said: “I keep my fish on my desk at all times, to remind me that you can always choose to be positive and happy at work!” Bless Marty’s heart. He was (and I’m sure continues to be) such a sweet guy. But let’s be honest … that damned fish wasn’t going to convince me to be happy in this new job. What I’d started to fear during my orientation, and what became clear very quickly once I started my new job, was that I wasn’t like everyone else. I didn’t like my job, and I never did. From day one I was unengaged and faking all of my energy and enthusiasm. And the thought I kept thinking was this: “Is there something wrong with ME? Or is there something wrong with this job?” It took me YEARS to figure out why I wasn’t happy at that job (or any job that came after). And now, I want to share with you what I wish Marty would have known during my orientation all those years ago. GET $50 OFF THE PASSION PROFILE SHORT COURSE THIS WEEK! Join The Higherside Chats podcast, with host Greg Carlwood as he and returning guest, Marty Leeds, talk Pizzagate, symbolism and secret societies. While we may differ on our perspective of the reality that surrounds us, there is one thing we know for certain: there is a sophisticated code baked right in. Today's guest, Marty Leeds helps us to decipher what this intricate web of encoded message may mean in our grand reality and understanding of self. 2:29 Marty begins by discussing the crazy landscape we are navigating, otherwise known as current events. While we find ourselves in the heart of the historic Pizzagate investigation, researchers have caught themselves in the cross hairs of the "fake news" agenda. Marty reveals his reasons for leaving prominent social media sites, such as Facebook, and how the witch hunt has affected researchers far and wide. 7:20 Greg and Marty dive deeper into the Pizzagate pool, by discussing the some of the more disturbing aspects discovered. As Marty explains, the lewd and lascivious online behavior of many people connected to this scandal should be enough to open a criminal investigation. Couple this with the crackdown on Pizzagate researchers, the obvious subculture built around this abuse, and the government's involvement through programs such as Project Monarch, the effects are frightening. 17:03 Marty addresses the rumors of a possible Pizzagate investigation under the new Trump administration. He also examines the corrupted political power structure put into place by Washington elites, and whether Trump can deliver on is promise to "drain the swamp" or if instead, he can be implicated in some dark conspiracies himself. 24:42 With a background in the occult and symbolism, Marty is the ideal guest to divulge the details and patterns in Pizzagate. Marty also analyzes the infamous John Podesta photo, and explains the importance behind the fish and number fourteen on his palms. 29:20 Segueing from Pizzagate to his latest book, "Pi & The English Alphabet: Vol. 3", Greg discusses the foundation of Marty's work: Gematria and the English alphabet. He also describes it's significance to the Podesta photo, the number 322 and the Skull & Bones logo. 37:19 Continuing with their conversation about the Skull & Bones logo, Marty details the importance of the use of the femur bone, it's connection to astro-theology and Sagittarius. Marty also reveals the Masonic connection to the apron, the historic use of it throughout several cultures and it's symbolism. 46:20 From the paradigm of divine creation seen in examples such as the Fibonacci code and the Golden Ratio, to the nefarious corruption and archon control we actively attempt to subvert, the horizon seems tough to navigate. Marty walks through his take on the the extreme contrasts peppered throughout our reality. Emily Huling, recently published an article on her blog with 17 Terrific Tips When Visiting Clients. The one we want to discuss is #14, where she recommends not using an iPad or any other technology when taking notes and meeting with new and old clients. This is the 21st century, we should be able to use tech for absolutely everything. It’s automated, it’s easy, and it lightens your work load, but it does not reflect well with the customer. As Marty says, when you’re using tech to make your job easier, you are not putting the needs of your client first. Get this podcast and more here: agencynation.com/podcast
Marty wants to confront Jennifer and catches her talking with the school jock and assumes she’s dating behind his back. Jennifer, who has been tutoring the jock, tries to explain the situation but Marty doesn’t listen to her. Marty goes to the Browns’ house and receives a message that Doc and his family are trapped in Salem, Massachusetts during the Puritan period. Taking the DeLorean, Marty brings a spare flux capacitor for the train to Doc, but the DeLorean that Marty and Einstein are in is in the water and comes out. As Doc fixes the train, Marty, Clara and the boys go to a town function. Marty spurns the advances of a young lady named Mercy and she accuses him of being a witch out of spite. Marty is condemned for being a witch without being able to defend himself. Marty is sentenced to the “water” test and Doc saves him with a makeshift scuba suit. When Marty returns home, he apologizes to Jennifer for making accusations without first hearing her side of the story. Shop Back To The Future on Amazon.com Plot Marty McFly and Liz leave from music appreciation class at Hill Valley College when he sees Jennifer Parker with big lug Kelp, believing that she is going out with him. The Brown family was exploring the Pyramids of Giza, Egypt circa 1000 BCE (Doc says it was “about 3,000 years earlier”) when they were chased down after Verne pulled a prank on the Egyptians. The flux capacitor on the Jules Verne Train is damaged by a spear and the train sends the Browns to 1692 Salem, Massachusetts. Doc sends Marty a scratch and listen postcard via a miniature time machine delivery car asking him to take the DeLorean and bring back a spare flux capacitor. Upon arrival, Doc calculates that it will take several days to repair the train with the replacement and they attempt to lie low in the town of Salem. Verne in Puritan times Verne, looking out his window while wearing his Puritan outfit. Marty arrives at September 23, 1692 and crashes into a lake. The DeLorean sinks to the bottom, but an inflatable device brings it back to the surface, after which Doc guides the DeLorean to a hideout with a remote control. For the past few weeks, Doc has been working with Goodman Tannen as a trash man. Tannen’s daughter Mercy shows up at a town event that night. Marty’s wild antics and strange tongues create gossip in the town and after he plays his harmonica, he is labeled a witch and put on trial. Marty is ordered to suffer the water test, which will determine whether or not he is lying, with either consequence being death. As Marty is thrown into the water, Goodman, Mercy, and the others watch as they believe he is drowning. Meanwhile, Marty is rescued underwater by the DeLorean which is equipped with a large pincer. Marty and the Browns return to the train and leave 1692. Back home, Jennifer tells Marty that she and Kelp were only study partners and that Marty was still her boyfriend.
