Dana Sparks has accomplished a lot in Hollywood and has an extensive resume to prove it. Fans of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" will remember Dana from her appearances in the episode "Contagion" as Ensign Williams. We discuss her memories of the TNG set, wearing the uniform, interacting with Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Wil Wheaton on the bridge of the Enterprise. We also chat about working with Julie Andrews and Jack Lemmon in one of her earliest roles, working on "Falcon Crest," fond memories of Angela Lansbury on "Murder, She Wrote," having caviar dropped in her hair by Bob Saget on "Full House," remembering an obscure show called "Gabriel’s Fire” that starred James Earl Jones, and her time in the peculiar soap opera “Passions.” Don't forget to subscribe to the show and leave a rating if you like us! It was one amazing time, that's for sure! Bill and Dan have returned from the gigantic Official Star Trek Convention in (Fabulous) Las Vegas, Nevada! They met new friends... They got autographs... Plus, we're also joined by one of the new friends we made during the trip--none other than Ensign Williams from the web series, "The Red Shirt Diaries!" Ashley Victoria Robinson will talk about her favorite moments of the convention and tell us about the upcoming second season of RSD which debuts new, weekly episodes on YouTube starting Monday, September 14th! Plus, find out all about Dan's inability to set an alarm clock--all in this episode of the Trek Geeks Podcast!

Macrocosm. Have you ever felt that Star Trek episodes are a bit too talky? A bit too “high and mighty”? Ever wish you could have a dash of Rambo with your Star Trek? Well, Brannon Braga thought so and thus sent Janeway—ripped biceps, tank top, and all—to save the crew from a giant bug infestation in the third-season episode “Macrocosm.” In this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by Phillip Gilfus, Charlynn Schmiedt, and Suzanne Abbott to discuss the germ-filled episode, how well it succeeds in achieving Braga's goals, its role as CGI testbed for later Voyager, the space podcasting of Neelix, and the origins of the Tak Tak language. If you listen long enough, you may even find out about the Tak Tak version of William Shatner. In our news segment, we find out what Ensign Williams needs in order to record her second set of Red Shirt Diaries, debate which Enterprise would be the best to captain, and take a moment to reflect on the recent tragedy involving Virgin Galactic. The Red Shirt Diaries: Season Two. Through their comedic web series, The Red Shirt Diaries, actress Ashley Victoria Robinson and filmmaker Jason Inman have taken us on a comedic journey through Star Trek. Set aboard the Enterprise during Kirk's five-year mission, the series gives us a glimpse of life aboard the ship from the point of view of a lady who may just be the luckiest red shirt in Starfleet, Ensign Williams. Season One, which is comprised of the first ten episodes of TOS, has been released in full and has been met with rave reviews. Now it's time to head into Season Two, which will deliver the remaining 19 episodes from the inaugural season of The Original Series. The Red Shirt Diaries. Everyone knows that, in the 23rd century, if your name is called for away mission duty you don't want to be wearing red. Many unfortunate crewmen lost their lives while donning the crimson threads. But there were a lot of other people aboard the Enterprise who managed to survive the five-year mission despite their attire. What was life like for these men and women? In this episode of Continuing Mission we're joined by Ashley Robinson and Jason Inman to talk about their new web series, The Red Shirt Diaries, which aims to answer that question through the eyes of one Ensign Williams. We discuss how the series came to be, how it was shot, favorite moments from production, why it's important to check each and every Home Depot carefully, and what we can expect to find when we peer into the private life of the Ensign in Red.
