HRT has it's times and place, but the issue is when people consider this too soon and do not think about the possible negative consequence that can haunt them for the rest of their lives. If you're considering HRT, please listen to this first! We hope you enjoy this episode & found value in it! Welcome back to a NEW season of GT Radio! Let's start this season off with a bang and talk about correcting hypothyroidism. The biggest mistake people make with trying to correct a lower functioning thyroid is thinking that it's just about increasing calories, and lifting more.... don't get us wrong, yes, that is helpful, BUT....There's A LOT more that goes into it than just those two things. On this episode we dive into the layers and what other things need to be addressed, and why just increasing food intake & training isn't the solution, especially for the folks who deal with adrenal cortisol issues. Welcome to a new season of GT Radio! On this episode, we're kicking it off with a bang and a topic that really lights a fire in our souls - being told you need to follow a low carb diet to correct your hormone issues/health. We did also talk about insulin resistance, along with what can the root cause can be to that, coming at it from a different angle. If you're struggling with hormone issues ( sex hormone imbalances, thyroid issues, adrenal issues, poor liver pathways, etc) and you're being told to to cut the carbs out.......RUN.We hope you enjoy this episode, and be sure to share it on social media & tag us! On this episode, Gillis & Tarryn talk about cycle syncing. If you don't know what cycle syncing is, it's changing up training & diet based upon where you're at in your cycle. We believe that this is VERY subjective to the female, her goals, lifestyle, hormone health status.....listen to find out why!And of course.. it wouldn't be GT Radio with our mini-rants that involves explicit language - you've been warned! We hope you enjoy & happy listening!Thank you for listening! On this episode, Gillis and Tarryn discuss the difference between clinical vs functional labs, and how in a clinical setting, the purpose is to treat a sickness or disease, while on the function side, it's focusing on preventing sickness and/disease, along with looking at all the systems for overall health and well being. Tarryn also discussed some comments she received on post from physicians about only running TSH & T4. Gillis & Tarryn also give insight on where you can run fully functional labs outside of your PCP, OB, or endocrinologist.Of course it wouldn't be GT Radio without some rants, and Gillis & Tarryn talk IG trolls and Tarryn's irrationalness, plus more! The biggest mistakes women make when it comes to healing their hormonal issues is doing the same thing that they have been doing that may contributed to why they have hormone issues to begin. In order to heal, you have to be willing to take a step back and correct lifestyle that is contributing to cortisol issues that's causing the hormonal issues- leading to one big shit storm. On this episode, we take multiple dives into hormone dysfunction, starting with chronically high cortisol, what could be the cause of this playing into hormonal health, and our methods of how we have our female clients train/exercise based upon their specific needs, biofeedback, health markers, mental health, etc. The whole focus of this episode was supposed to be all about training with a hormone imbalance, but we took a step back and came at this topic from different angles - it's a longer episode, but JAM PACKED with great info! We hope you enjoy this and found it helpful!Don't forget to share and help us get the word out about GT RADIO! If have any questions or are interested in work with us, reach out!
