"Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it." Deuteronomy 12:30-32

Send us a textOn this episode, Gillis and Tarryn talk about the most common thing women hear when it comes to HRT : "It will help you lose weight" - This is usually a sales gimmick/tactic, and can be misleading when it can be a blanket statement when talking about males because this can be true for make when it comes to testosterone, but may not be true when we are talk about women. Again, it's all about dosing/time exposed to the hormone, which the also talk about. Gillis and Tarryn breakdown all forms of HRT (the hormones used) and how it could play against your weight loss or doesn't help it at all with making it "easier." In this episode of the Postural Respiration podcast I am joined by Cody Gillis, DPT, PRC, CSCS. Cody grew up in Boston, MA and earned his DPT from Northeastern University in 2017. It was during his time at Northeastern that he was introduced to PRI by the Strength and Performance staff their who had utilized various positional activities with their athletes. During this explorative track as a 3rd year DPT student Cody was pursuing his Strength & Conditioning certification and spending time with the performance team there. Cody admits to being skeptical at first regarding what he saw but wanted to learn more. During his two required 6 months clinicals Cody gained experience in a local orthopedic setting, but it was during his second rotation that he truly immersed himself. Moving to Hawaii and spending time learning from Randy Fukuji and the clinical cases at Fukuji & Lum in Honolulu produced a desire to dig even deeper. Cody recalls a specific patient that impacted him early on, who had tried everything and been everywhere, but was coming to the clinic solely to work through the Right Sidelying - Left Adductor Pullback technique because that one technique did more for the patient than anything else had. Once Cody heard this he knew it was time to take his first course.Almost immediately Cody was on a flight from Hawaii to New York for his first course, Postural Respiration. Over the following years Cody completed his additional coursework and became certified as part of the 2021 PRC Class. Out of all the coursework he has completed, Cody credits Impingement & Instability and the concepts therein, for providing him the link to a more neurological mindset which has shaped his practice ever since. After spending many years learning and treating at Fukuji & Lum in Hawaii, Cody's desire to spend more one on one time with individual clients, led him to create Respire, initially as a personal training and coaching opportunity in his spare time. After getting married and moving back to the mainland Cody opened his Respire Physiotherapy doors, offering all encompassing care in Santa Barbara and Monterey California.Cody has a strong interest in interdisciplinary care and has attended numerous conferences with other disciplines including joining the PRI community at past AAPMD meetings among others. Most recently Cody's desire to understand and communicate with other disciplines, led him to undergo a PRI Mini Residency at the Hruska Clinic. We discuss his time here and what offering an integrative treatment plan looks like for him as he navigates building relationships with other professionals and offering patients holistic care via those relationships. Cody has a passion for being on, in, or near the water and he looks forward to working with more individuals in the surfing community as well as pursuing more knowledge and the autonomic regulation required of the sport of Free Diving and those who do it.

It's Feel Good Friday with Gio and Jerry. Gio questions how teams assess player investment, given rising salaries and players prioritizing money over winning. He believes some players, like the Knicks, Pete Alonso, and Francisco Lindor, care more about winning than others, like Juan Soto. Jerry agrees that players won't care as much as fans, and first championships are the best. Gio thinks older players were more win-driven, while modern players are money-driven. CLo joins for updates, but they discuss reality TV. CLo asks Gio about getting sick from licking his golf ball, which Gio is relieved is legitimate. Baseball is back, Jim Harbaugh is still a character, and CLo has a golf highlight. Gio wonders why Peter Schwartz didn't find Shane Gillis's ESPYs monologue funny and thinks Joe Benigno complains too much.

In this Kim on a Whim segment, Marc & Kim break down the cultural shift in comedy after Shane Gillis finally gets his redemption arc—hosting the ESPYs years after being canceled by SNL for edgy jokes. Kim praises Gillis for staying true to his voice and not backing down to woke pressure, calling his ESPYs monologue the funniest in years. Meanwhile, the show's opening host—Maya Rudolph—bombed with low-energy delivery and flat punchlines. The team calls it a win for real comedy and a loss for Hollywood's politically correct bubble. Kim emphasizes how audiences are starved for authenticity, and Gillis delivered.
In the first hour of today's edition of the show, Dan Caplis reacts to Shane Gillis's controversial ESPYs monologue.
In the second hour of today's edition of the show, Dan talks with pro-life advocate Catherine Wheeler, and candidate for Colorado's GOP Vice Chair position Richard Holtorf.
This is an episode with a good friend of mine Greg Gillis. Greg and his family operate 7th Valley Ranch raising purebred Angus and commercial cattle. His wife also has a farm to fork beef business called Rose Valley Beef. Plus along with raising their family, increasing their grain farming acres the Gillis' are going to partner up with good friends to host their first annual bull sale March 21st, 2026 in Swift Current SK. Greg and I met a while back just via the cattle world. We hit it off and have remained good friends. We always joke that we don't raise the same breed but we had similar roadblocks along the way to navigate in developing our herds and reputations. Greg used to work off the farm, traveling in the pick up going to see customers. We would visit between stops about family and cattle. Continually bouncing ideas back and forth, knowing that we didn't have the same breed specific knowledge but we each wanted to find success on our own terms. This is very unscripted and a little peek into what a conversation or two between Greg and I are like when we find ourselves with a little wind shield time or looking to a friend to spitball a few ideas. I hope you as listeners might think it would be good to bounce a few ideas with a friend more often. It's a great way to vocalize an idea, check yourself a bit and build lasting friendships. I guess 16 years is enough time to pass to make a sports documentary about something historic. In the case of "Underdogs: the 2009 Open Championship" aired on Golf Channel, it didn't take long for this one to reduce yours truly to a whimpering little pup filled with horrible memories of Tom Watson not finishing off perhaps the greatest individual feat in sports history. Shane Gillis stuns the audience as the host of the ESPY's. It's Disney corporation apologizing for all the woke as the conservative free speech comedian offended just about everyone, without foul language. We have the deets. Trey Smith is not only the highest paid guard in history he's a heckuva man. This was on display as he signed his deal with the Chiefs and then called his dad on speaker phone. What happened was just the best. The Senate passes a $9 billion clawback at 2:30 am that will defund NPR and PBS if the House approves by Friday. We may need a parade. In Oregon, the feds are trolling protesters in the best way ever... this is hilarious. Pam Bondi fires James Comey's daughter and a popular singer loses his instrument on stage at a concert.
Boomer and Gio discuss Shane Gillis's ESPYs monologue, questioning the origin of widespread jokes about KAT's sexuality and hoping it motivates him. Jerry's final update includes Pat Beverley addressing KAT being called “zesty,” and Gillis's best jokes. Joe Benigno's college reunion approach, Virtual BT's response, and rodent problems are also covered.
Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT) was roasted at the ESPYs, an event where Boomer was referenced in Norm Macdonald's 1998 monologue, a moment Shane Gillis paid tribute to. Boomer and Gio question KAT's drive. Jerry's update features Gillis's jokes, a leaked video hinting at Lindor becoming Mets captain, a break-in at Ketel Marte's home, and free-agency news (Von Miller to Commanders, Bradley Beal to Clippers). The hour ends with golf talk, including Gio's non-football chat with Adam Schefter.
Hour 1 Karl-Anthony Towns was mocked at the ESPYs, a moment Boomer recalls Norm Macdonald's 1998 monologue where Boomer was mentioned, and Shane Gillis paid tribute to Macdonald. Boomer questions KAT's drive, while Gio hopes this fuels him. Jerry then plays audio of the KAT joke, discussing other Gillis jokes. Also, a leaked video suggests Francisco Lindor will be named Mets captain. Ketel Marte's home was robbed, and Von Miller and Bradley Beal signed with new teams. Finally, Boomer and Gio discussed the British Open and their golf outing. Hour 2 Boomer and Gio discuss the leaked video suggesting Francisco Lindor will be named Mets captain, agreeing it feels earned. They reminisce about David Wright and hope Lindor inspires teammates like Aaron Judge does for the Yankees. They also touch on cell phone use at urinals, the Jets' young leaders, ESPY hosts, Shane Gillis's Trump jokes, Chris Russo's airport incident, the Giants' NFC East competition with Von Miller joining the Commanders, Arch Manning's college plans, Mike McDaniel's hot seat, and the Patriots' progress. Hour 3 Boomer and Gio discuss the weather and British Open. They then cover sports media news, including Dave Portnoy and FOX Sports rumors, and Sal Licata's joke about Craig Carton's WFAN return. Brandon Tierney's alleged ejection sparks a debate on umpire criticism, with callers siding with ejections for over-the-top parents. Jerry returns with updates, and they discuss his elbow injury while golfing, and callers offer tips for sweaty hands and "swamp ass." Jerry plays jokes from Shane Gillas about Juan Soto, Maxx Crosby, and Aaron Rodgers. Snakes on the golf course are also discussed. A caller from the BT game confirms BT's ejection was warranted, providing details Gio wanted to hear. Hour 4 Boomer and Gio discuss widespread jokes about KAT's sexuality, including one by Shane Gillis at the ESPYs, hoping it motivates KAT. Jerry's final update includes Pat Beverley addressing "zesty" comments about KAT and the best Gillis jokes. Joe Benigno's college reunion approach, Virtual BT's caller response, and rodent problems round out the show.
Jerry plays a few jokes from Gillis, including one that tricked the audience and even Gio. He plays Gillis's joke about Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson then wraps up with the joke about SGA being a foul merchant.
Today on "Hot Mic" Shane Gillis crushed last night's ESPY's monologue and actually garnered a very positive response, but of course not everyone enjoyed Gillis' jokes. Plus, our conversations with Diego Pavia and Clark Lea. And Paul Martin, executive producer of SEC Football: Any Given Saturday joins the show. Learn more about your ad choices. 068 The spiritual journey is not all love and light. The more one commits to waking up, the more life is punctuated by times of intense loneliness and a longing to be liberated from the sense of separateness. The nature of love is expansive and free flowing. Only when we fixate and try to constrain it does it become transactional and begin to sour. Without warning the transcendent joy of a passionate love affair can turn to self doubt and neediness.According to the Buddhist tantric tradition, love is a vast storehouse of energy that exists beyond the dualistic barrier of ego clinging or relationship status and is available to all who are brave enough to seek its truth. By becoming familiar with the open nature of love we can dance and communicate with others with greater delight and ease. In this episode of Awake In Relationship I speak with Buddhist author, teacher and returning guest, Susan Gillis Chapman on the non dual, indestructible nature of love and cutting through ego's obsessive strategy to possess it.Follow Awake In Relationship on Instagram and LinkedinIf you have been loving what you are hearing on AIR please rate, review and subscribe to get the latest content fresh to your device. Ivan Rubenstein-Gillis! Singer! Songwriter! Producer! Dear old friend! Delight! I've known Ivan for decades and I've always loved his music AND talking to him, so having him on my podcast to talk about his music AND MORE was perfect. Under the band name 500 Suns, he's got a new album "Hungry Man" coming out in July 2025! Stay tuned for that, and also stay tuned at the end of this podcast episode for a sneak peek of some music from that project! We have a great chat and you can have a great listen! PS This is only the first HALF of our chat. For the second half, subscribe via Apple Podcasts or merely click on over here to Patreon! Also, here's more about Ivan in Ivan's website's own words: "Ivan Rubenstein-Gillis is a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based out of New York. With deep roots in folk, rock, jazz, world music and modern poetics, Ivan brings a rare sense of craft, intellectual provocation and emotional expression to his work. Ivan grew up in a creative family and from an early age was exposed to great music, books and visual art from all around the world. He played piano as a kid and began putting lyrics and chord patterns together around the age of 10 ... Bought his first guitar in high school and later added mandolin, banjo, harmonica, bass and other instruments to the mix. Over the course of his eclectic career, Ivan has written hundreds of songs and instrumental pieces, produced and recorded albums across various genres, composed for dance and theater and performed with great musicians in many styles. The primary focus of Ivan's creative life has been his songwriting. To date, he has recorded 11 albums of original material as a solo artist, collaborating with extraordinary rhythm sections, instrumentalists and singers along the way. His songs have won grants and awards, have been performed by numerous artists and choirs, have been featured in a number of movies, documentaries and PSAs, and have become part of the American musical landscape for his many admirers. Two of his songs were featured in a worldwide viral video produced for the United Nations Environmental Program regarding the evils of single-use plastics. Outside of his own material, Ivan enjoyed a very successful collaboration with legendary trombonist Roswell Rudd over the last decade of his life. Ivan played with Rudd's dynamic MaliCool band in 2007 and produced Feeling Good (a tribute to Nina Simone) - the lead track off of Rudd's 2011 album The Incredible Honk. In 2013-2014, Ivan produced Trombone For Lovers, an epic collection of American standards which included the house band of John Medeski, Aaron Comess and Richard Hammond, plus guest appearances from Bob Dorough, Faye Victor, Gary Lucas, Michael Doucet, Steven Bernstein, The NYC Labor Choir and other luminaries. TFL received a four star review in Downbeat and generated raves around the world. Roswell performed with Ivan and his band on numerous occasions and guested on several of Ivan's albums, including in the guise of a braying elephant on dogz and katz, a choice cut from Ivan's 2016 album The Lion. Ivan and Roswell continued to work together on new compositions and arrangements right up until Roswell died in December of 2017. Ivan produced and played multiple instruments on "Songs From Home" - a well-received 'pandemic EP' with fellow Rudd collaborator (and wonderful singer ) Heather Masse, featuring some of their favorite classics, reimagined for quarantine. Ivan's latest project - 500 Suns - is a collaboration with the great rhythm section of Craig Santiago and Scott Petito - an uplifting soulful band based out of the Hudson Valley featuring Shawn Dawn, Kendra McKinley and Leslie Ritter on vocals. Ivan's deep love for many different types of music has allowed him to play around the margins of numerous genres, and has led to longstanding musical relationships with Meyer Horn (drums), Adam Small (bass), Craig Santiago (drums), Scott Petito (bass), Aaron Comess (drums), Richard Hammond (bass), Heather Masse (voice), Cat Martino (voice), Leah Siegel (voice), Lexy Casano (cabaret artist), Clarence Ferrari (flame throwing fiddler), Arne Wendt (organist), Rod Sherwood (producer), David Grausman (piano) and David Brahinsky (NJ-based folksinger), among many others. Ivan has also worked extensively as a music educator, concert producer and "musical activist" - utilizing his talent and experience in the service of providing musical opportunities to underserved populations. Ivan has played at countless benefit concerts, fundraisers and community events and always appreciates the opportunity to play music in the service of a worthy cause. Along with the music, Ivan writes satire, short stories, poems and the occasional expository essay. He also likes to draw funny sketches." Thanks and love, all!

I'll start by saying that I strongly dislike financials, accounting, taxes, etc. Today's guest is truly an authority and subject matter expert in this space. He and I connected online over a year ago. Then he came to our 2nd BOA event last June. Brighton, U.K. based ceramicist, Nicola Gillis makes functional tableware. Nicola takes inspiration from the East Asian use of tableware, a specific purpose for each vessel and where pleasure is drawn from individuality. Although there are commonalities, she does not seek to replicate exact size or marks and embraces imperfection. Shadows and light on daily walks throughout the seasons and the beauty found in degraded surfaces and patina also inform her work. Nicola has developed her interest in ceramics over the past 8 years, studying on the full-time Ceramic Development course at Forest Row School of Ceramics in 2019, and beginning to sell her work in during 2020. Initially using the wheel, Nicola developed her practice to include hand-building with slabs, carving, and coils, all of which she finds to be a slower, more thoughtful approach to making. https://ThePottersCast.com/1123
On the night of August 14, 1985, twenty-year-old Kristin O'Connell left a party in Ovid, NY to go for a walk. Two days later, her nude body was discovered near a cornfield along a rural county road; she had been stabbed in the chest and her throat was cut. The unsolved murder of Kristin O'Connell has baffled local New York investigators for decades. At the time of her murder, Kristin had traveled from Minnesota to New York to visit a young man she'd met a few months earlier while on Spring Break in Florida. According to witnesses, Kristin wasn't wearing shoes when she left the party and she wasn't carrying a purse. Several witnesses reported having seen Kristin walking that night between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am, when she was seen talking to one or possible two men in a car. Roughly ten minutes later, several people reported hearing a loud scream coming from the area where her body was discovered. In the decades since Kristin's murder, police have interviewed dozens of witnesses and followed up on thousands of leads, yet the case remains no closer to being solved than it was in the days following the discovery of the body. Please sign the Petition to override the decision to not permit 'touch DNA' to potentially solve this cold case! visit https://www.change.org/p/family-demands-dna-testing-by-othram-labs-in-the-kristin-o-connell-cold-caseThank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAllen, Matha. 1985.
