It's Feel Good Friday with Gio and Jerry. Gio questions how teams assess player investment, given rising salaries and players prioritizing money over winning. He believes some players, like the Knicks, Pete Alonso, and Francisco Lindor, care more about winning than others, like Juan Soto. Jerry agrees that players won't care as much as fans, and first championships are the best. Gio thinks older players were more win-driven, while modern players are money-driven. CLo joins for updates, but they discuss reality TV. CLo asks Gio about getting sick from licking his golf ball, which Gio is relieved is legitimate. Baseball is back, Jim Harbaugh is still a character, and CLo has a golf highlight. Gio wonders why Peter Schwartz didn't find Shane Gillis's ESPYs monologue funny and thinks Joe Benigno complains too much.

   I guess 16 years is enough time to pass to make a sports documentary about something historic.  In the case of "Underdogs: the 2009 Open Championship" aired on Golf Channel, it didn't take long for this one to reduce yours truly to a whimpering little pup filled with horrible memories of Tom Watson not finishing off perhaps the greatest individual feat in sports history.    Shane Gillis stuns the audience as the host of the ESPY's.  It's Disney corporation apologizing for all the woke as the conservative free speech comedian offended just about everyone, without foul language.  We have the deets.    Trey Smith is not only the highest paid guard in history he's a heckuva man.  This was on display as he signed his deal with the Chiefs and then called his dad on speaker phone.  What happened was just the best.    The Senate passes a $9 billion clawback at 2:30 am that will defund NPR and PBS if the House approves by Friday.  We may need a parade.  In Oregon, the feds are trolling protesters in the best way ever... this is hilarious.  Pam Bondi fires James Comey's daughter and a popular singer loses his instrument on stage at a concert.  

Jerry plays a few jokes from Gillis, including one that tricked the audience and even Gio. He plays Gillis's joke about Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson then wraps up with the joke about SGA being a foul merchant.

Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT) was roasted at the ESPYs, an event where Boomer was referenced in Norm Macdonald's 1998 monologue, a moment Shane Gillis paid tribute to. Boomer and Gio question KAT's drive. Jerry's update features Gillis's jokes, a leaked video hinting at Lindor becoming Mets captain, a break-in at Ketel Marte's home, and free-agency news (Von Miller to Commanders, Bradley Beal to Clippers). The hour ends with golf talk, including Gio's non-football chat with Adam Schefter.

Finally, Boomer and Gio discussed the British Open and their golf outing. Hour 2 Boomer and Gio discuss the leaked video suggesting Francisco Lindor will be named Mets captain, agreeing it feels earned. They reminisce about David Wright and hope Lindor inspires teammates like Aaron Judge does for the Yankees. They also touch on cell phone use at urinals, the Jets' young leaders, ESPY hosts, Shane Gillis's Trump jokes, Chris Russo's airport incident, the Giants' NFC East competition with Von Miller joining the Commanders, Arch Manning's college plans, Mike McDaniel's hot seat, and the Patriots' progress. Hour 3 Boomer and Gio discuss the weather and British Open. They then cover sports media news, including Dave Portnoy and FOX Sports rumors, and Sal Licata's joke about Craig Carton's WFAN return. Brandon Tierney's alleged ejection sparks a debate on umpire criticism, with callers siding with ejections for over-the-top parents. Jerry returns with updates, and they discuss his elbow injury while golfing, and callers offer tips for sweaty hands and "swamp ass." Jerry plays jokes from Shane Gillas about Juan Soto, Maxx Crosby, and Aaron Rodgers. Snakes on the golf course are also discussed. A caller from the BT game confirms BT's ejection was warranted, providing details Gio wanted to hear. Hour 4 Boomer and Gio discuss widespread jokes about KAT's sexuality, including one by Shane Gillis at the ESPYs, hoping it motivates KAT. Jerry's final update includes Pat Beverley addressing "zesty" comments about KAT and the best Gillis jokes. Joe Benigno's college reunion approach, Virtual BT's caller response, and rodent problems round out the show.

On the night of August 14, 1985, twenty-year-old Kristin O'Connell left a party in Ovid, NY to go for a walk. Two days later, her nude body was discovered near a cornfield along a rural county road; she had been stabbed in the chest and her throat was cut. The unsolved murder of Kristin O'Connell has baffled local New York investigators for decades. At the time of her murder, Kristin had traveled from Minnesota to New York to visit a young man she'd met a few months earlier while on Spring Break in Florida. According to witnesses, Kristin wasn't wearing shoes when she left the party and she wasn't carrying a purse. Several witnesses reported having seen Kristin walking that night between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am, when she was seen talking to one or possible two men in a car.
