This week, we're sharing an interview with Will Gillis, author of the recently published book Did The Science Wars Take Place: The Political and Ethical Stakes of Radical Realism, published via C4SS where Gillis holds the position as The Voltairine de Cleyre Chair in Centrifugal Studies and technical coordinator. For the hour we talk about the so-called Science Wars of the 1990's, debates involving scientific approaches and shared understandings of a a measurable physical reality, post-modernism, the roles leftists and anarchists played in the debates and how cults and authoritarians employ anti-realist explanations of the world to limit their subjects' moves toward liberation.

Eternal Kingdom Mentality - with Carry Gillis
In this explosive episode, paranormal researcher and religious demonologist Nathaniel Gillis joins the show to break down one of the most controversial theories in the entire UFO community: Are "aliens" actually ancient, non-human intelligences — the same entities our ancestors called demons? Gillis reveals his research into possession cases, sigils, abductions, shadow beings, implants, and interdimensional entities that appear to operate under the same patterns across history. We discuss: Why modern UFO encounters mirror ancient demonic encounters The parasitic intelligence behind hauntings and abductions Why these beings may not be extraterrestrial, but extra-dimensional Ritual technology, sigils, and the symbols found on abductees How NASA, mythology, and demonology all connect Why this "one intelligence, many masks" theory is gaining traction fast What these entities ultimately want from humanity If you're interested in UFOs, demonology, paranormal research, hidden history, or the nature of non-human intelligence… this is the episode you can't afford to miss. We're throwing it back to the 1996 cult classic film The Craft just in time for Halloween! We begin with a conversation about Hannah and Marcelle's teenage witch phases (of course they both had them), before digging into the filmic landscape of the 90s. Hannah argues that The Craft's interest in girlhood and power was a catalyst that paved the way for pop culture to come, like Buffy and Charmed and Practical Magic. Hannah then draws on Stacy Gillis and Rebecca Munford's “Genealogies and Generations: The Politics and Praxis of Third Wave Feminism" and Jessica Rosenberg and Gitana Garofalo's “Riot Grrrl: Revolutions from Within" to help understand the resonance of film. In this episode of Growing Older Living Younger, Dr. Gillian Lockitch speaks with Dr. Bruce Gillis about chronic immune system disorders such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, interstitial cystitis, and long COVID. Dr. Gillis shares how his research overturned decades of stigma by proving these conditions are objectively measurable through immune system testing and DNA genomic signatures. The conversation explores the role of epigenetics in disease development, the link between coronaviruses and long COVID, and the discovery of a microbiome-modulating compound that reduces symptoms. Listeners will gain validation, clarity, and practical insights into how accurate diagnosis and targeted therapies can improve quality of life. Dr. Bruce Gillis is a physician-scientist and public health expert whose career spans clinical medicine, research, and academic leadership. After earning his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, he completed two residencies and two fellowships before joining the faculty at Harvard Medical School, UCLA, and the University of Illinois. His early work focused on environmental health and toxic exposures, including oversight of the Alaskan oil spill cleanup and aerospace medicine projects. Dr. Gillis later turned his focus to chronic immune system disorders such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, interstitial cystitis, and long COVID. Through groundbreaking research, his team identified specific white blood cell dysfunctions and unique DNA genomic signatures that objectively prove fibromyalgia and related disorders are real, diagnosable conditions. Nathan J. Gillis on Tin Foil Hat explores how a mysterious phenomenon manipulates our perception, questioning whether we've ever truly seen its real form. He suggests that orbs may project false entities into our environment, leading us to wonder what we're actually dealing with. Drawing from the Phillip Experiment, he discusses how the phenomenon deceives and asks if we can influence it. He also references the Scole Experiment, where attendees witnessed NHIs, ghosts, and guides, raising the question: are they all the same intelligence? Careful! This one is disturbing. In the early 2000s, women in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, lived in fear. Two different predators were stalking the city, leaving a trail of terror and death. While authorities were hunting for one killer, another, even more depraved murderer was operating completely under the radar. For ten years, Sean Vincent Gillis lived a chilling double life, murdering at least eight women, and the details of his crimes are beyond deranged. Even other serial killers are disturbed by him. He wasn't some dark, shadowy figure who stood out from the crowd. To all who knew him, he was just an ordinary guy, not the monster that was hiding in plain sight. Join Jen and Cam as they talk about "The Butcher of Baton Rouge: Sean Vincent Gillis." Be sure to stay and listen to the promo for Ghost Bites. Episode 591 - Francene Gillis - Where Did i Go - A Memoir Plus, Mild Traumatic Brain Injury MTBIFrancene Gillis, author/consultant/educator/advocate, has been a writer her whole life, starting at the age of five with a writing contest created by her teacher at Port Hood Consolidated, Mother St. Magdalene. Fifty years later, she is still writing in multiple genres, both fiction and nonfiction for a variety of audiences. She devoured books in the school library and putting words to paper became therapeutic when life's tragedies hit. She discovered that her writing could speak for those in pain. Experiencing the devastating loss of loved ones, much of her first writings involved themes of inspiration, loss, overcoming adversity, and sharing her feelings with others so they would not feel alone. She started writing poetry as a teen and giving it to grieving friends, or as tributes to community members. She majored in English at St. Francis Xavier University, continued with a BEd, and obtained a master's in education in Multiculturalism, Administration & Leadership. A community activist, she writes advocacy pieces, such as those gathered in her book, A Rose in November and in her regular column for the Inverness Oran. Her latest book, Where Did i Go? A Memoir Plus, will launch June 2025, partner published by OC Publishing. It was written after her career as a high school English teacher came to an unexpected, painful end in 2016 due to a slip and fall on black ice on her way to work that caused mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Except for educational purposes, Francene has always lived in Port Hood on the coast of Cape Breton, NS. with the ocean at her backdoor.https://www.francenegillis.ca/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca
It's Feel Good Friday with Gio and Jerry. Gio questions how teams assess player investment, given rising salaries and players prioritizing money over winning. He believes some players, like the Knicks, Pete Alonso, and Francisco Lindor, care more about winning than others, like Juan Soto. Jerry agrees that players won't care as much as fans, and first championships are the best. Gio thinks older players were more win-driven, while modern players are money-driven. CLo joins for updates, but they discuss reality TV. CLo asks Gio about getting sick from licking his golf ball, which Gio is relieved is legitimate. Baseball is back, Jim Harbaugh is still a character, and CLo has a golf highlight. Gio wonders why Peter Schwartz didn't find Shane Gillis's ESPYs monologue funny and thinks Joe Benigno complains too much.
I guess 16 years is enough time to pass to make a sports documentary about something historic. In the case of "Underdogs: the 2009 Open Championship" aired on Golf Channel, it didn't take long for this one to reduce yours truly to a whimpering little pup filled with horrible memories of Tom Watson not finishing off perhaps the greatest individual feat in sports history. Shane Gillis stuns the audience as the host of the ESPY's. It's Disney corporation apologizing for all the woke as the conservative free speech comedian offended just about everyone, without foul language. We have the deets. Trey Smith is not only the highest paid guard in history he's a heckuva man. This was on display as he signed his deal with the Chiefs and then called his dad on speaker phone. What happened was just the best. The Senate passes a $9 billion clawback at 2:30 am that will defund NPR and PBS if the House approves by Friday. We may need a parade. In Oregon, the feds are trolling protesters in the best way ever... this is hilarious. Pam Bondi fires James Comey's daughter and a popular singer loses his instrument on stage at a concert.
Jerry plays a few jokes from Gillis, including one that tricked the audience and even Gio. He plays Gillis's joke about Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson then wraps up with the joke about SGA being a foul merchant.
Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT) was roasted at the ESPYs, an event where Boomer was referenced in Norm Macdonald's 1998 monologue, a moment Shane Gillis paid tribute to. Boomer and Gio question KAT's drive. Jerry's update features Gillis's jokes, a leaked video hinting at Lindor becoming Mets captain, a break-in at Ketel Marte's home, and free-agency news (Von Miller to Commanders, Bradley Beal to Clippers). The hour ends with golf talk, including Gio's non-football chat with Adam Schefter.
Hour 1 Karl-Anthony Towns was mocked at the ESPYs, a moment Boomer recalls Norm Macdonald's 1998 monologue where Boomer was mentioned, and Shane Gillis paid tribute to Macdonald. Boomer questions KAT's drive, while Gio hopes this fuels him. Jerry then plays audio of the KAT joke, discussing other Gillis jokes. Also, a leaked video suggests Francisco Lindor will be named Mets captain. Ketel Marte's home was robbed, and Von Miller and Bradley Beal signed with new teams. Finally, Boomer and Gio discussed the British Open and their golf outing. Hour 2 Boomer and Gio discuss the leaked video suggesting Francisco Lindor will be named Mets captain, agreeing it feels earned. They reminisce about David Wright and hope Lindor inspires teammates like Aaron Judge does for the Yankees. They also touch on cell phone use at urinals, the Jets' young leaders, ESPY hosts, Shane Gillis's Trump jokes, Chris Russo's airport incident, the Giants' NFC East competition with Von Miller joining the Commanders, Arch Manning's college plans, Mike McDaniel's hot seat, and the Patriots' progress. Hour 3 Boomer and Gio discuss the weather and British Open. They then cover sports media news, including Dave Portnoy and FOX Sports rumors, and Sal Licata's joke about Craig Carton's WFAN return. Brandon Tierney's alleged ejection sparks a debate on umpire criticism, with callers siding with ejections for over-the-top parents. Jerry returns with updates, and they discuss his elbow injury while golfing, and callers offer tips for sweaty hands and "swamp ass." Jerry plays jokes from Shane Gillas about Juan Soto, Maxx Crosby, and Aaron Rodgers. Snakes on the golf course are also discussed. A caller from the BT game confirms BT's ejection was warranted, providing details Gio wanted to hear. Hour 4 Boomer and Gio discuss widespread jokes about KAT's sexuality, including one by Shane Gillis at the ESPYs, hoping it motivates KAT. Jerry's final update includes Pat Beverley addressing "zesty" comments about KAT and the best Gillis jokes. Joe Benigno's college reunion approach, Virtual BT's caller response, and rodent problems round out the show.
On the night of August 14, 1985, twenty-year-old Kristin O'Connell left a party in Ovid, NY to go for a walk. Two days later, her nude body was discovered near a cornfield along a rural county road; she had been stabbed in the chest and her throat was cut. The unsolved murder of Kristin O'Connell has baffled local New York investigators for decades. At the time of her murder, Kristin had traveled from Minnesota to New York to visit a young man she'd met a few months earlier while on Spring Break in Florida. According to witnesses, Kristin wasn't wearing shoes when she left the party and she wasn't carrying a purse. Several witnesses reported having seen Kristin walking that night between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am, when she was seen talking to one or possible two men in a car. Roughly ten minutes later, several people reported hearing a loud scream coming from the area where her body was discovered. In the decades since Kristin's murder, police have interviewed dozens of witnesses and followed up on thousands of leads, yet the case remains no closer to being solved than it was in the days following the discovery of the body. Please sign the Petition to override the decision to not permit 'touch DNA' to potentially solve this cold case! visit https://www.change.org/p/family-demands-dna-testing-by-othram-labs-in-the-kristin-o-connell-cold-caseThank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAllen, Matha. 1985.
