Hey Winner, In this episode, I'm sharing a change that's coming to the podcast and the heart behind it. After reflecting on our Grow Your Biz without Social virtual event, Implementation Week, and the conversations that came out of both events in May, I realized I want this podcast to serve you with more intentionality, depth, and relevance instead of simply keeping up with a publishing schedule. So today, I'm talking about why the podcast is moving into seasonal episodes, what this shift will look like moving forward, and when new episodes will return. If you've been feeling stretched thin, pressured to constantly produce, or unsure how to build sustainably in this season of business and life, I think this conversation will really encourage you. How Do You Know You're Making Progress After Betrayal? Understanding Safety, Awareness, and Real Change In this episode of The Human Intimacy Podcast, Dr. Kevin Skinner and MaryAnn explore one of the most common—and emotionally loaded—questions couples ask after betrayal: *“How do we know if we're actually making progress?”* Healing doesn't follow a straight line. Many couples feel stuck in a painful cycle of “two steps forward, three steps back,” leaving them wondering if anything is truly changing. Dr. Skinner and MaryAnn break down what real progress looks like—not through checklists or surface behaviors, but through a deeper, more meaningful shift: **perceived relational safety**. They discuss how the body plays a central role in detecting safety through what is often called a “gut feeling,” drawing on concepts like neuroception from Stephen Porges. Listeners will learn why healing requires more than logical reassurance—and why the nervous system must begin to *feel* safe before true connection can return. Through a powerful role-play, they demonstrate the difference between reactive, defensive conversations and regulated, productive ones. This real-life example highlights how self-awareness, emotional regulation, and vulnerability can transform conflict into connection. They also address: Why some betrayed partners struggle to trust even when their partner is “doing everything right” The impact of shock versus gradual awareness in discovery How deception can distort one's internal sense of safety Why stabilization must come before meaningful repair How consistency—not perfection—builds trust over time Ultimately, progress is not measured by the absence of conflict, but by how couples navigate it. When both partners develop awareness of their internal experiences and learn to communicate those experiences safely, healing becomes not only possible—but measurable. If you've ever questioned whether your relationship is moving forward, this episode offers clarity, validation, and a roadmap for what real progress actually looks like. Key Resources & Mentions The Intimacy Repair Method (IRM)   A structured approach to healing after betrayal, focusing on safety, stabilization, and rebuilding connection. In this episode, Ben explores a common frustration for leaders: teams or individuals who seem stuck and unable to make progress. He explains that "spinning your wheels" often comes down to a combination of factors rather than a single cause. Key issues include a lack of time and capacity, unclear direction or priorities, fear of accountability, and missing skills or knowledge needed to complete the work. When leaders fail to clearly state priorities, teams often default to business‑as‑usual tasks instead of tackling new initiatives. Ben also highlights how some team members wait for explicit permission to step up and take responsibility. By clearly defining priorities, granting permission, and providing the necessary support and skills, leaders can help teams move from stalled discussions to real progress. LDS Mission Podcast Episode 242: How to Know If You're Making Progress is all about answering a question I hear all the time from missionaries, returned missionaries, and missionary moms: How do I know if the internal work I'm doing is actually working? When growth is emotional, mental, and spiritual—like confidence, anxiety, fear, perfectionism, or self-trust—it can feel invisible. In this episode, I talk about why progress isn't about making fear or insecurity disappear, but about changing your relationship with it. I share a powerful reframe that applies on the mission, after the mission, and throughout life: progress is not the absence of fear—it's how you respond when fear shows up. I walk you through four clear indicators of internal progress, including having less self-judgment and more compassion, increased willingness to feel emotions, faster emotional recovery time, and the ability to interrupt old mental patterns before they spiral. These tools help you measure real growth when goals aren't easily trackable. If you've ever felt stuck, discouraged, or worried that you "should be further along by now," LDS Mission Podcast Episode 242: How to Know If You're Making Progress will help you recognize the meaningful internal shifts you may be overlooking and trust the work you're doing—even when growth feels slow or unseen. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Stefanie Gass, Christian business coach, podcast host, and seven-figure CEO, to talk about what sustainable growth actually looks like. Stefanie shares her Focus 4 Method for Scaling and why doing less, with more intention, is often the fastest path forward. We talk about podcasting as a long-term growth strategy, creating offers that truly serve your people, and building marketing clarity without living on social media. If you want your business to support your life, not compete with it, this episode is for you. This conversation is especially helpful for entrepreneurs who want to grow with peace, protect their capacity, and keep God, family, and freedom at the center of their business.
