Off Track with Carruthers and Bice

Jayson Uribe finished second in last year's MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship, and, for many, that was a surprise. Uribe started the season with a sixth, a fifth and a fourth in the first three races of the season. In race four, Uribe won his first race of the series when his title rival Hayden Gillim crashed out of race two at Brainerd International Raceway. From there Uribe never looked back, earning a second win and never finishing off the podium en route to securing second in the title chase. If anyone caused Gillim to have restless nights, it was Uribe. We caught up with the Californian for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers and Bice to chat about his season, fighting fires, the new MotoAmerica Parts Unlimited Talent Cup and more.Support the show

Scoring points in the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship isn't an easy accomplishment these days. Case in point: Last year only 34 riders scored at least one point in the title chase and 64 of them tried at least once. If you're a privateer racing well behind the likes of Hayden Gillim, you're working towards earning those valuable championship points. Red Lobo Racing's Manny Segura is one of those riders who scored points last year and is trying to do the same this year. We were able to track Segura down for a chat this week of the newest episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Support the Show.

It was already a good time to be Hayden Gillim as he went into the off-season with not one but two championships in the 2023 MotoAmerica Championship - Mission King Of The Baggers and Stock 1000. With his RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Motorsports Harley-Davidson deal intact for 2024, Gillim announced this week that he will also have a promising program for Stock 1000 as he will defend his title on a Steel Commander/Comstock Energy/Southern Honda Powersports/American Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. They say that timing is everything and that was definitely the case with Max Flinders earning his first career MotoAmerica podium finish in the very last race of the season at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Flinders finished third in the finale of the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship behind Kyle Wyman and Hayden Gillim and his popularity within the paddock spilled over as it was as popular with his peers as it was with his fans. As Flinders says, "It's kinda cool when Hayden Gillim just wins the championship and he's happier for me than he is for himself." Rispoli finished second in the 2023 Mission King Of The Baggers Championship after being in the title fight to the bitter end in the season finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Although he finished runner-up to his Vance & Hines/Mission/Harley-Davidson teammate Hayden Gillim, Rispoli parlayed his results from the 2023 season into the big prize - a seat on the Screamin' Eagle H-D factory team for 2024. Rispoli will join Kyle Wyman on the factory Harley-Davidson team with both riders fulfilling childhood dreams of racing for the Motor Company. He's baaack. Last year, Hayden Gillim returned to the MotoAmerica paddock after what was basically a two-year hiatus to race a Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson in the Mission King Of The Baggers series and he finished third in the championship. He also dipped his toe in the water at Pitt Race with a one-off Stock 1000 ride. Despite missing practice and qualifying on Friday because he was at home in Kentucky working at his day job,  Gillim put the Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000 on the podium with his third-place finish. For 2022, Hayden will return to the MotoAmerica Series full time to compete in both the Medallia Superbike and Stock 1000 classes. Only one round remains in the AMA Superbike series and it happens September 9, 10 and 11 at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
