Dolly Parton BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Dolly Parton has been making headlines once again, and even at 79, her influence feels as vibrant and omnipresent as ever. The biggest recent story is her highly anticipated return to Las Vegas, with a six-show residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in December 2025, marking her first extended Vegas run in over three decades. According to AOL, Dolly expressed palpable excitement, promising a hit-laden spectacle and offering up special VIP experiences for superfans, including photo ops and exclusive merchandise. She confirmed the residency through both press releases and a characteristically sparkly Instagram post, sending her signature rhinestone-laced message right to followers' feeds. In the arena of live performance, Dolly remains unstoppable. On July 30, Right Angle Entertainment and Paul T. Couch announced the national tour of Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol will kick off November 15 in Owensboro, Kentucky before playing more than 20 cities. Featuring new songs and her distinct Appalachian aesthetic, the musical reimagines Dickens' Ebenezer Scrooge as a Depression-era mining magnate in Tennessee—an idea that could further cement Parton's role as an ambassador for Smoky Mountain culture. Dolly herself chimed in, saying she “poured her heart into the music” and hopes families across America will feel the love, laughter, and mountain magic packed into every scene, as reported by the RiverPark Center.Dolly's presence on social media—a combination of lavish portraits and uplifting platitudes—has created a strangely emotional undercurrent among fans. On July 28, Parade and HELLO! Magazine note, Dolly's team posted a glamour shot with an inspirational caption, but fans, still reeling from the March loss of her husband Carl Dean, panicked in the comments, fearing the worst. The last few months have rendered every new Parton post a moment of both relief and trepidation.Touching tributes also remain at the forefront. Just days ago, Dolly posted a poignant message on Instagram thanking fans for their heartfelt condolences after Carl Dean's death, described lovingly as “the star of my life story.” The ballad she released in his memory—If You Hadn't Been There—offered a rare, vulnerable glimpse into her personal grief and creative pause. She's acknowledged publicly that her songwriting has slowed, explaining on the Khloé in Wonderland podcast that the emotional toll has left her “just putting it all on hold,” but she hopes to return to it when she's able. Finally, nostalgia continues to fuel her connection with fans. A throwback post of “Coat of Many Colors” went viral, sparking a fresh wave of emotion for this song's core message: resilience, humility, and pride in one's roots. From glittering strip lights in Vegas to heartfelt tributes and every rhinestone in between, Dolly persists in making news—proving that, even through loss, her legacy's only growing.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

"God takes what they've been through and turns it to good." These powerful words from Eddie Mansfield capture the essence of his extraordinary transformation story shared on Road to Redemption.Eddie's journey begins in Owensboro, Kentucky, where despite a loving Christian upbringing, he veered into substance abuse at age 15. What followed was a 23-year descent through addiction, wasted opportunities, and escalating legal troubles. By age 38, Eddie found himself in an Atlanta jail cell facing a potential 10-year sentence for methamphetamine possession. It was here, at his lowest point, that something unexpected happened—he reconnected with faith through a fellow inmate who knew the Bible intimately. While Eddie studied Scripture behind bars, his mother began having recurring dreams that her son would someday lead a faith-based recovery program—visions that seemed impossible given his circumstances. Then came what Eddie can only describe as divine intervention: three days before Christmas 2006, through an unexpected act of mercy from a retiring district attorney, Eddie was released directly to a rehab facility in Destin, Florida. Christmas Eve became his sobriety date, marking the beginning of a radical life transformation.Today, Eddie serves as director of Path of Grace, a thriving women's recovery ministry with 54 residents and 12 graduates in transition. His personal experience with addiction fuels his compassion and effectiveness in helping others find freedom. With his wife Kayla (herself a recovery success story) by his side, Eddie's life stands as powerful testimony that no one is beyond redemption and that our deepest pain can become our most powerful platform for helping others. For more info on Path of Grace in Miramar Beach FL goto https://www.pathofgrace.net or reach them at:Mailing Address PO Box 9261, Miramar Beach, FL 32550email: PathofGrace@gmail.com Tel. 850.974.4573For more information contact us atrtrdestiny@gmail.com

Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits down with 1994 Busch Series champion David Green to learn why he turned down a ride from his dad, what it was like replacing Ricky Hendrick, and how he navigated racing against his two brothers. After growing up in Owensboro, Kentucky and venturing into kart racing with his brothers David and (former DJD guest) Jeff, David made the transition into late model racing and found success in the NASCAR All-American Challenge Series. His relationships with Wayne Day, Mike Alexander and Bobby Labonte helped usher him into the NASCAR garage, initially building cars and making one-off starts in the Busch Series. But once Bobby Labonte was promoted to the Cup Series and vacated his family-owned ride, David was hired full-time and would lead the team to the 1994 Busch Series championship.David fills Dale in on an encounter he had with Dale Sr. where he was approached to replace his brother Jeff in the #3 DEI Busch car. He also reflects on his time spent driving for Hendrick Motorsports, replacing Ricky Hendrick when he made the decision to step away from racing in 2002. The conversation also covers David's decision to retire from the driver's seat, and how he took a position working as a NASCAR official as part of the research and development safety team, where he currently works today. To wrap up the year on Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, puts his overalls on for a conversation with Ben Heimach-Snipes. Ben is a gardener, composter, Prebyterian pastor and much more. He moved to Louisville two years ago and has been working in roofing sales to fund his dream of starting a compost business, similar to what Vermont Compost or Charlie's Compost south of Owensboro (http://charliescompost.com/) does - high value, high quality compost for gardeners or farmers. He'd like to contract with restaurants and other businesses that have pretty consistent waste volumes without herbicides. Join us as we discuss compost as the story of new life and the theology of soil, as Genesis in the bible says, we are made from the "best, richest, darkest, thickest soil.” You'll also learn about creating safe compost and get introduced to the ideas of Jessie Frost from the NoTill Market Garden podcast (http://Notillgrowers.com), who says over and over again that there is no source of compost in Kentucky that is guaranteed to be free of persistent herbicides and affordable enough to be part of a farmer's budget. Ben's goal is to one day fill this gap in the perceived market. We also talk about the Soil Food Web School (https://www.soilfoodweb.com/), soil food web based lawn care, and healthy gardening in Kentucky through healthy soils. Get in touch with Ben at Benheimachsnipes@gmail.com As always, our feature is followed by your community action calendar for the week, so get your calendars out and get ready to take action for sustainability NOW! Sustainability Now! is hosted by Dr. Justin Mog and airs on Forward Radio, 106.5fm, WFMP-LP Louisville, every Monday at 6pm and repeats Tuesdays at 12am and 10am. He's worked for Sarasota County; the water management district where he and Brett met; and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, where he would eventually get to serve as the organization's Executive Director. He's currently a Vice-President with Garcia Land Management and Environmental Services. They discuss his family's deep roots in rural Western Kentucky; a childhood spent outdoors; how he changed paths at the University of South Florida and wound up working in the natural sciences; his desire to learn, improve, and take on new challenges; his management philosophy as his responsibilities grew; the love he had for his staff, board, and organization – and when he knew it was time to move on; his new role with Garcia and the challenges of working in the private sector; and a flirtation with the “RV Life”. They also share a glass of whiskey from the Green River Distillery, an historic institution in Owensboro, Kentucky, near walking distance from his childhood hometown of Henderson. Did we mention that Eric is a long-time musician and jingle writer, and a one-time professional elephant washer (we mean, zoologist) at Busch Gardens as well? Well, he is. We continue our coverage for Bourbon Heritage Month as we explore Four Roses Bourbon, including their new Limited Edition Small Batch release for 2024. We are joined by Brent Elliott, Master Distiller for Four Roses Bourbon Distillery. We discuss Brent's process for crafting this limited edition bourbon, the 10 different recipes of Four Roses Bourbon, the distillery's commitment to quality and tradition, and the recent announcement of an expansion of the Four Roses Bourbon recipe lineup. What is your favorite Four Roses recipe or release? About Four Roses: Established in 1888, Four Roses combines two mashbills with five proprietary yeast strains to distill and age 10 distinct bourbon recipes, each with its own unique flavor profile. With distilling and warehousing operations in Lawrenceburg and Cox's Creek, Kentucky, respectively, Four Roses is available in all 50 states. This past year, Four Roses has received 54 awards, including 2 Double Platinum medals, 3 Platinum medals, 9 Double Gold medals and 22 Gold medals from esteemed competitions such as the American Whiskey Masters and Whiskies of the World. About Brent Elliott, Master Distiller for Four Roses Bourbon Distillery: Brent Elliott became Master Distiller at Four Roses in September 2015 and has been involved in producing award-winning premium Bourbons since he began working with the company in 2005. As Master Distiller, Elliott ensures that each bottle of Four Roses is handcrafted with the same passion and quality that the brand has maintained since 1888. Elliott's years of experience with Four Roses include everything from applying his Chemistry degree in production, to formulating Four Roses' 10 distinct Bourbon recipes and hand-selecting barrels for award-winning bottlings that the brand has become known for around the world. Elliott also frequently travels on behalf of the brand, sharing his deep industry and brand knowledge through tastings, seminars, training sessions and events. Named Master Distiller/Blender of the Year at the 2020 Icons of Whisky America award ceremony, Elliott is particularly proud of Small Batch Select, the distillery's newest permanent product-line extension since 2006, and the biggest addition to the storied history of the 132-year-old brand since he became Master Distiller. Since its release, Small Batch Select was ranked No. 3 in Whisky Advocate's Top 20 Whiskies of 2019 – the highest-rated Bourbon on the list – and also earned Category Silver for Kentucky Bourbon at the 2020 World Whiskies Awards. A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Elliott resides in Frankfort Kentucky with his wife, Amy, and their two children.
