On August 5, 2016, Jamarion Robinson—a 26-year-old college student-athlete—was killed after being shot 76 times during a raid by a federal fugitive task force in East Point, Georgia. Despite a lack of body camera footage, overwhelming tactical force, and unanswered questions surrounding his mental health crisis, his story remains a stark testament to systemic injustice and unchecked authority.In this episode of The Forefront Radio, we break down the historical timeline of Jamarion Robinson's case and examine how it directly aligns with the prophetic truths written in Psalm 10—a psalm that exposes the pride of the wicked, the ambushing of the vulnerable, and the inevitable judgment of God.

In Week 8 of "Psalms of Summer," we study Psalm 10 and discover how God reveals himself in the midst of our suffering. As David wrestles with questions about God's presence and the reality of evil, he is reminded that God hears our cries, sees every injustice, desires our trust, and is always worthy of our praise. Even in life's darkest moments, we can find hope and confidence by fixing our eyes on Jesus, who has overcome the world.

This week, after witnessing two more murders at the hands of ICE, we sit with Psalm 10, a very honest psalm of lament that calls on God to move in the face of injustice. Jonathan preaches that Psalm 10 instructs us to pray with honesty, to pray for God's action, and to pray banking on hope in God's character. He reminds us that this Psalm is not juxtaposing the good and evil, but rather the oppressor and the oppressed. Jonathan challenges us to remember that at times we might be the oppressor who needs sidelined. In conclusion, he simply has us pray Psalm 10, letting the Scripture powerfully speak for itself.

Psalm 10 is the sequel of Psalm 9 and zeroes in on the theme of the wicked mistreating the poor. The unique contribution that Psalm 10 makes is that in it, we hear the words of our King, who came down from heaven to live and die in a state of poverty, and to—in the end—overcome wicked oppressors.

Now remember! Paul wants us to remember the impact of Jesus' life on our lives: 1. Remember what you were at that time without Christ. 2. We were strangers, without God and without hope. Now we are saved! Let's not put trust in other things apart from Christ. Everything else is meaningless! Let us remember the power of Jesus death and resurrection; in communion we can be brought near. Everything is fulfilled in Jesus. So let us be expectant of heaven breaking out on earth, through us because of Christ in us!

Paul instructs us - now remember! Remembering is important. Paul wants us to remember the impact of Jesus' life on our lives; 1 Remember what you were once without Christ. 2 You were strangers without God and without hope. Life without God is meaningless. There's an invitation, as you take communion to remember the depth and reality that in Christ - through his death and resurrection - you have been brought near. So let's come to him in fresh surrender expectant of the reality of heaven on earth breaking out in our everyday.

Jacob and his father-in-law Laban simply don't get along, and let's be honest, it's not because they are morally upstanding people with a difference of opinions, it's because they both practice deception to their own advantage. The daughters of Laban aren't too dissimilar, and their pettiness is made apparent in today's text. As a means of trying to gain flocks for himself, Jacob practices strange husbandry, proving not only that he has no idea how breeding works, but that it is by the grace of God, not by Jacob's skills, that his flocks increase. He and his father-in-law get into an argument and go their separate ways.
