Send us a textIn today's episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I reflect on a tough season from 15 years ago when I faced enemies and darkness. It wasn't easy, but I chose to stay the course. I share how, even when it's hard, choosing to love, bless, and pray for those who mistreat us—just like Jesus did—brings transformation and peace. God uses these acts of obedience to create ripple effects of goodness, even when we can't see it at the time.Key Takeaways:Obedience in tough situations can lead to unexpected blessings.Jesus calls us to love our enemies, even when it's difficult.Choosing to bless and do good instead of retaliating brings peace and freedom.God's love and light always break through the darkness in His perfect timing.Tune In: Click the button below to listen. “Whether or Not You Think You're Worth It, Jesus Does” – A Palm Sunday Sermon on Luke 8 In this compelling Palm Sunday message, guest preacher Chasen Robbins unpacks the Parable of the Sower from Luke 8:4–15, offering deep insight into why people either continue or stop following Jesus. Drawing from Scripture, life experience, and even a nostalgic reference to The Sandlot, Chasen calls listeners to reflect on their spiritual soil—are we truly rooted in Jesus, or are we being choked out by the worries and distractions of the world? The message begins with a reflection on Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the painful irony that the same crowds praising Him would, just five days later, demand His crucifixion. This contrast sets the stage for the parable: a seed scattered freely across all types of soil—hard, rocky, thorny, and good. While the seed (God's Word) never changes, the soil (our hearts) determines the outcome. Chasen walks through each soil: • The Path – A heart hardened by the world and unable to receive the Word. • The Rocks – Shallow faith with no depth; easily withers in trials. • The Thorns – Faith choked by life's worries, riches, and pursuit of perfection. • The Good Soil – A receptive heart that hears the Word, holds onto it, and produces fruit with endurance. This sermon is a powerful reminder that spiritual growth is not about striving harder but receiving more of God's grace. It's not about being a perfect soil from the start, but being willing to let God transform us. Key Themes: • The generosity of God's grace and how it is scattered to all. • The difference between emotional hype and deep, committed faith. • The dangers of spiritual distractions and burnout. • The importance of spiritual rest and community. • The truth that Jesus sees your worth—even when you don't. Takeaway Quote: “Following Jesus doesn't remind us of how worthless we are. Following Jesus reminds us of how worthwhile we are.” Whether you are questioning your faith, weary from the weight of performance, or looking to go deeper in your walk with God, this message invites you to receive the love of Jesus in a fresh way. Who This Sermon is For: • Those feeling distant from God or unworthy of His love. • Christians longing for a deeper, more authentic faith. • Anyone wrestling with spiritual burnout or performance-based identity. • Those seeking rest, renewal, and hope. Chasen teaching style is deeply relatable and rooted in Scripture. With a pastor's heart and a clear love for the local church, he challenges and encourages all listeners to ask: What kind of soil am I today? And no matter the answer, he reminds us that transformation is always possible through the grace of Christ. Scripture Reference: Luke 8:4–15 About the Speaker: Chasen Robbins is a guest preacher at Flourishing Grace Church in Bountiful, Utah. Known for his engaging, honest teaching, Chasen often preaches to young adults and students, helping them navigate faith in a complex and often confusing world. His messages are filled with truth, humor, and hope. About the Church: Flourishing Grace Church is a gospel-centered community in Bountiful, Utah, committed to helping people find and follow Jesus. The Nerve of Him | Luke 4:1-13 The temptation of Jesus in the wilderness reveals the incredible arrogance of the devil. He dares to tempt God Himself—thinking, somehow, that he can claim victory over the very Word made flesh. His audacity is both appalling and foolish. But in this confrontation, we also witness the unwavering resolve of Jesus. Even after fasting for forty days, He stands firm, wielding the Word of God against the tempter. Unlike Adam and Eve, who fell into sin in the garden, Jesus remains steadfast. He does not waver. He does not stumble. Instead, He conquers the enemy with the truth of Scripture. How do you love those who make your life difficult? How do you bless those who mistreat you? Jesus' words in Luke 6:27-36 call us to a radical love—one that goes beyond fairness and justice to reflect God's mercy. Imagine hearing these words as a Jewish person living under Roman rule—facing oppression, heavy taxes, and the constant threat of violence. Loving your enemies wasn't just hard; it felt impossible. But Jesus wasn't asking for passive tolerance—He was calling for active love, blessing, and prayer even for those who wrong us. Join us as we explore what it truly means to love like Jesus—not just when it's easy, but when it costs us something. Can we really forgive? Can we really love like this? Only through the power of the One who first loved us.
Did you know that the Bible is about you? It's about so many things, but yes, it's true! The Bible talks about all the people of the world…our struggle, the love God feels towards us, and the good plans He has for us. When Jesus entered the world as a baby, the angel announced that it was Good News! Not just for a few people, not just for those who were religious. The angel declared that this news of Jesus' birth would bring great joy to all people. And that, of course, includes you! You might be thinking, “What does the birth of Jesus have to do with me?” Well, Jesus came for a purpose. He came to draw all people to Himself. He came to offer you a fresh start and a new life. He came so that you can be forgiven of your sins, and begin a free life, strengthened by a powerful friendship with the Living God. Remember, there is always hope with God. This is Andrew Palau. Have you ever felt unqualified for a big task? Maybe it was your first time staying home alone, driving a car, or starting a new job. That feeling of doubt—Am I really ready for this?—is something we all experience. In this sermon, we look at the calling of Simon Peter and the disciples in Luke 5. Jesus asks them to follow Him and become "fishers of men." Peter, recognizing his own sinfulness, falls at Jesus' feet, overwhelmed by his inadequacy. But Jesus doesn't call the perfect—He qualifies the called. God uses weak vessels like us to share His Word, not because we are capable on our own, but because He works through us. You may doubt your ability to share the gospel, but Christ qualifies you. Join us as we explore how God calls ordinary, imperfect people to do extraordinary work for His kingdom.

Have you ever wanted to share the Good News of Jesus but didn't feel like you had the right words? We do not need to rely on eloquence. We can just tell what He's done for us. The first ones to share the Gospel were a bunch of young shepherds. Most likely, children, dirty from tending sheep. An angel woke them up and told them, “Good News, a Savior has been born!” The Bible says... They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. What these kids shared with everyone was not a polished sermon. It probably sounded more like, “You'll never believe what happened to us last night!” We can all share the Good News just like that. It's that simple. Tell someone today about what God has done and what He has done in your life. Remember, there is always hope with God. This is Andrew Palau. You know that feeling when you're standing on the edge of a pool, and you *know* the deep end is going to be cold, maybe even a little uncomfortable? But you also know you've gotta jump in? That's pretty much what Luke 5:1-11 is all about. In today's episode, we're breaking down how Jesus told Simon Peter to get uncomfortable and go out to the deep waters, even after a night of catching nothing. And guess what? Simon *didn't* want to—who would after a long, frustrating night? But because he trusted Jesus, the blessing that came next was beyond what he could've imagined. As Christian businesswomen, we're often called to go deeper too. We want the success, but we don't always want the deep end that comes with it—the risk, the unknowns, the fear. But what if that's exactly where God has your breakthrough waiting? Today, we're talking about why the blessing isn't in the shallow end and how you can trust God even when the water feels murky and you're not sure what's under you. TAKE AWAYS: 1. Obedience Isn't Always Comfortable – Simon was tired and over it, but he trusted Jesus and let down the nets again. What uncomfortable thing is God asking you to do in your business that you're resisting? 2. The Deep End Holds the Blessing – Peter didn't find his abundance in the shallow, safe waters. Sometimes, you've got to take that uncomfortable dive into the deep to experience the success God has waiting for you. 3. Dealing with the Fear Factor – The unknown can be terrifying, but faith calls us to act anyway. How are you handling those moments when fear is screaming louder than your faith? 4. Letting Go of Your Safety Net – We love control, right? But growth doesn't happen when you're clinging to what feels safe. We're talking about what it looks like to release your grip on control and trust God's bigger plan for your business. SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: Luke 5:1-11 – Jesus tells Simon Peter to go deeper, and even though Simon hesitates, he obeys. The result? A catch so huge, his nets almost broke. It's a story that shows us just how much God can do when we're willing to get uncomfortable and trust Him in the deep. CALL TO ACTION: It's time to stop playing it safe and start trusting that God's got something amazing for you on the other side of the deep end. Share this episode with another boss lady who needs to hear this, and make sure to subscribe so you don't miss any future episodes! --- It's easy to stick to what's comfortable, but growth—real growth—happens when we let God push us out into the deep, even when it's scary, even when it's hard. Do you feel far from God? If so, you are not alone. As humans, we make mistakes, and we fail, we fail again and again, but the truth is, God never abandons you. Jesus tells a story in Luke 15 about a lost sheep. He says that when a shepherd loses one sheep, he leaves the 99 other sheep to go searching for the 1 lost sheep. Jesus says… And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Realize the truth right this moment—God has picked you up and put you on His shoulders. Let Him do it; He's in the process of carrying you home. I hope you know you can still serve God, still worship Him, still come to Him no matter what you have done. Let Him carry you on His shoulders. Trust that whatever you are going through right now will become a story of God's victory in your life. Remember, there is always hope with God. We are constantly working and trying and striving to create a home here that will never be possible. Honestly, the true meaning of home is people, isn't it? The people we love, the people we would die for, protect, the people we'd pour out for- this is what home is all about. The thing that shakes us is that the home we long for and we need can so easily be lost. One day, we will all breathe our last, but there is a home for us with eternal love that can never be taken away. God says in the book of Jeremiah that He loves us with an everlasting love. That word everlasting means: Always, ancient, eternal, without end. God offers this to you—an everlasting home with everlasting love. Always remember, there is hope with God.
