The Bible promises that "EVERYONE who loves is born of God and knows God." - 1 John 4:7 So, does this mean there may be people in heaven who have known little of theology, but because they have valued the principle of love, they actually know God, though they and others may have seen themselves as “non-believers”?

I really loved this interview with Curtis Childs. You may know Curtis from his Youtube channel Off The Left Eye which discusses Emmanuel Swedenborg. I am fascinated with Emmanuel Swedenborg  a Swedish pluralistic-Christian theologian, scientist, philosopher and mystic from the 1700s who is best known for his book on the afterlife, Heaven and Hell   Swedenborg had a prolific career as an inventor and scientist. In 1741, at 53, he entered into a spiritual phase in which he began to experience dreams and visions,. His experiences culminated in a "spiritual awakening" in which he received a revelation that Jesus Christ had appointed him to write The Heavenly Doctrine to reform Christianity.[According to The Heavenly Doctrine, the Lord had opened Swedenborg's spiritual eyes so that from then on, he could freely visit heaven and hell to converse with angels, demons and other spirits, and that the Last Judgment had already occurred. Over the last 28 years of his life, Swedenborg wrote 18 published theological works—and several more that remained unpublished. Curtis Childs is one of the foremost experts on Swedenborg. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg's writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg's insights by producing and hosting this weekly webcast. We have demonstrable proof that we are spiritual beings living in the world of heaven now. The way in which we prove whether our knowledge of Mind and Its manifestation, heaven, is correct or not is this: if anything appears to be inharmonious and we can realize that we are spiritual beings in heaven now, governed only by Good, the apparent difficulty will vanish, proving the truth of our realization. Every great mystic has taught that heaven is around us all of the time. Lao-Tze, the Chinese philosopher, said, in speaking of heaven, “The further a man goes in search of it, the less likely he is to find it.” Jesus said, “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there, for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20, 21). “The true light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9) is the illumination of spiritual understanding that comes when a man knows the absolute truth about God and the manifest universe. It is unfortunate that individuals have been taught that the manifest world in which we live is a material misrepresentation of heaven. It has been called a world of illusion, a cinema picture world, a counterfeit world, a world of symbols, a world of false appearances, a suppositional opposite world, and various other terms. For this reason only is instruction necessary. If individuals had never accepted lies about themselves, instruction would not be necessary. The Lord Jesus Christ gives us an unmistakable imperative in Matthew Chapter 7. He says, "Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it." It is difficult to miss the two roads and the two destinies spoken of in these verses. Yes, there is a heaven; and yes, there is a hell. And the choice is ours as to which road we take and which destiny we arrive at. But only in the Bible will you find an honest and unbiased assessment of man's true nature and the unchangeable standards of God to which we must attain. But, yes, heaven IS attainable, not by our works or merit but by the work of Christ on the cross for us.

What a wonderful message the Bible contains! There is salvation on the simplest terms! Christ has provided the way - the door to heaven - and we can only get on the narrow road to heaven through him. But there is also the broad road that leads to hell and destruction. Have you located where you are on the roadmap to eternity?

Though there are many stories of love and many stories of sacrifice in the Old Testament, the two only truly came together for the first time at Calvary, where Christ in love provided the ultimate sacrifice for sin. Why? So that we could be sure of being in heaven with Him. The Bible speaks of only two destinations. Those that trust Christ are saved. But those who refuse to receive God's forgiveness must go to hell. Which road and which destiny will it be for you?

What is the most valuable thing in the whole world? I'm sure, everyone's answer would be different. Well, the Lord Jesus Christ gives us a heavenly perspective on this question. He wants us to imagine that we own the whole world. Yet, there is something far greater in value. Listen to His question, “What shall it profit you, if you gain the whole world, and lose your own soul? Yes, He considers your soul to be the most precious possession you have. Do you?

On today’s broadcast, we’ll be considering making the necessary reservations for the most important journey we could every make – the journey into eternity. Nobody finds themselves in heaven without a prior booking. Are you prepared for that trip? Your certainly need to be!
