April 13:In this edition of UBC "Sermon Discussions" Jason and Jesse talk with the students that preached from John 14:1-6—I Am: The Way, and The Truth, and The LifeQuestions discussed in this episode: Why is it a good thing that Jesus claims that he is the only Way?Why is it such a grace that as Christ followers we know without doubt that Jesus is the absolute truth? We live in a world with many different religions that believe and teach that there are others than Jesus who give LIFE. Why is Jesus' claim that he is Life so important to believe, accept, and share with others?Last year the youth group went on a mission trip within our country and had the opportunity to share the gospel with a group of people who don't believe Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only way to life. How can Jesus' claim in John 14:1-6 be used to share the gospel with others and why is it important to teach Jesus' as the way, the truth, and the life to others?John 3:16-17 says that God did not send his Son into this world to condemn the world. That is speaking of when Jesus first came to this world. What does the Bible say Jesus will do when he comes again? This week, Nicole dives deep into John 14, particularly the profound statement made by Jesus in John 14:6, where He declares, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." This declaration is not merely a philosophical assertion; it serves as a foundational truth for those seeking direction and purpose in their lives. What's The Backstory? Right before this, Jesus made it clear that he was going to leave them. This must have been very discouraging and confusing. In the midst of this, Jesus offers them comfort and a path forward. I Am The Way, The Truth, The Life He is the way. Jesus is making incredible claims about himself. He gives them relationonal, directional, and intentional answers. We're living in a world that is sinking in disinformation, deepfakes, and outright deception. We cannot tell what is true and what is artificial anymore. In the midst of this sea of lies, it seems that more than ever there is a desire to find that which is true. In an interview, Elon Musk said: "I care a lot about the truth of things and trying to understand the truth of things. I think that's important. If you're going to come up with some solution, then the truth is really, really important."People today are asking the same question that a Roman governor once asked over 2,000 years ago, "What is truth?" Jesus Christ declared in John 14:6, "I AM THE WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, no man cometh unto the Father but by me."We have re-launched our Gospel of John Project for 2025 in partnership with the Trinitarian Bible Society and are seeking to reach 12 cities in 12 months. Each month we will mail out an attractive Gospel of John booklet to at least 10,000 homes -- until we reach 120,000 homes by the end of the year.Learn about this campaign:www.sermonaudio.com/news/gojLearn about The Vault:www.sermonaudio.com/vault

In John 14, we read that as Jesus celebrated the passover with his disciples, knowing that he was very soon going to the cross, Jesus spoke words of comfort to His disciples, reminding them of the future glory of heaven. When Thomas asked how they could know the way to where Jesus was going, Jesus responded, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) In today's message, Pastor explores the question, what can calm our troubled hearts? Our faith in Jesus, the future promised to us, and our relationship with God through Jesus.

Choosing the Hard Way Today's passage is so beautiful as in just one verse Jesus summarizes the intent of all 613 O.T. commands, getting to the very heart of how faith and love for God is to be lived out. It is well called the Golden Rule. Matthew 7:12-14 The first reason believers practice the golden rule is to fight our sin nature. The second reason believers practice the golden rule is to be used of God to meet needs. The Golden Rule that sums up Old Testament Law - V. 12 Practicing the golden rule is not just basic good treatment of others, it incorporates the “going the extra mile” and “loving your enemies” language Jesus already gave in this sermon. The golden rule is all about the flourishing of your relationships with the Lord and other humans. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” - Matt. 22:37-40 A person who loves and fears God will be characterized by: Obeying the Golden Rule Loving God with all their heart and loving their neighbor as themselves For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. - Romans 10:4 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. - Romans 13:10 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” - Galatians 5:14 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully. - 1 Tim. 1:8 Where should our commitment to do unto others begin? With the right to life. In the O.T. we see God sometimes regulate what He didn't condone, things like divorce and slavery, to keep people from being taken advantage of. That all stems from Genesis 1, where we learn that ALL people are created in the image and likeness of God, all with inherent value! William Wilberforce understood that slavery was a moral evil and needed to end. He did three things at once. He helped those affected by slavery. He educated the empire about the moral evil of slavery. He got law after law passed year after year that cut slavery back until it was ended. Another clear moral wrong addressed in the Bible is abortion. The Bible makes clear that life begins at conception and we are not to kill innocent life. Doing unto others begins with promoting the cause of life. A nation that kills its babies won't have a good record with do unto others. The rise of selfishness and disrespect and violence toward others in our nation starts with the cheapened value of human life. Choosing to follow the Jesus Way - V. 13-14 Jesus knew that the things He has commanded in this Sermon on the Mount would raise in every person hearing it a negative reaction before there would be a positive response by faith. When we come to verses 21-23, Jesus will let us know that those who reject doing what He teaches are simply not among those who are truly Christians. Ultimately the person who rejects Jesus' teaching is really rejecting Jesus Himself. There is way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. - Proverbs 14:12 Aren't you glad Jesus calls believers to be His followers, not merely His fans? Jesus would rather have the few totally committed to Him and His Way then multitudes who are merely interested. Jesus said to Him, I Am THE Way, and THE Truth, and THE Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me! - John 14:6 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our Fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets. - Acts 24:14

Jesus answered, "I AM THE WAY and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There will be times when things do not always set just so. If you are a child of the King, you must remember that your God is Sovereign over all your circumstances. There is nothing too hard for God. Jesus said He is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this way is too narrow. In reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it. Keep the faith, God knows your name and sees what you are going through. Remember there is nothing too hard for God. Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes Jesus Calling | LAB

Do you tell your spouse the truth? ALWAYS?That would be the whole truth and nothing but the truth, do you? When you communicate with spouse or children, or any family members or friends, or even in the workplace, or church, or social gatherings, do you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth all the time? ALL THE TIME?And, do you expect others to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth when they communicate with you, do you? To tell the truth always, all of it, to everyone under every circumstance, is an extremely difficult task, if not impossible. Our communication, our cultural exchanges, our personal expectations are difficult, partial at best, and seldom if ever contain the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. More often than not, we leave out or add in. We communicate Half-Truths. The definition of half-truth is that only about half of that is true, if that. So often, we communicate with the so-called WHITE LIE. Interesting, is it not, how we give colors (black-white-gray) to falsified communication? The truth, knowing and communicating the truth, is a difficult process.Perhaps it is a journey to know, believe, and communicate the truth. No matter, it is the obligation, the duty, of a Christian to be truthful, to know and communicate the truth. THOU SHALT NOT LIE (bear false witness) say the commandments and affirmed by our Lord. When we communicate with others in word or deed, it must be with the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to the very best of our human abilities. That is especially so in family circles. The lie sets an example, a very bad one, especially in family circles, with spouses and children. If a parent expects a child to tell the truth, then that parent better tell the truth as a matter of course, regularly and all the time, and without exception.Pilate, the governor who passed judgment on Jesus, asked the age-old question, perhaps one of the most important questions (issues) ever asked:WHAT IS TRUTH?He had his answer from Jesus of Nazareth, who told him bluntly and point blank:I AM THE TRUTH. I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE!That message was for all of us. Jesus told the world of that time and all of us since, that he was ONE WITH THE FATHER, in other words, God himself. That was either the biggest lie of all time, or the most profound truth, one or the other. But, said He, that is the ultimate truth and to know exactly what Jesus was, who He was, was the ultimate spiritual and divine truth. Do you know that and do you believe that? But what is the definition of truth? It is extremely difficult to define. Truth is based on fact, that which really happened. It is reality, truth is, unvarnished. It is what actually happened, what was accurately said, things not subject to interpretation or question. Truth is moral, good, and right. It is honest and reliable. Truth, real truth is not subject to question, doubt, or interpretation. It comes from the deeds and the words of an honest person. It creates no doubt. The exact opposite is the LIE. Amazing, is it not, how the lie pervades our culture, our society, our government? Our political world, worldwide and especially in America, is corrupt, knows not the truth, cares nothing about the truth, and in fact boldly proclaims that we live in the day and age of:POST TRUTH.Our leaders, almost all know more than mere politicians, power, money, and fame- hungry individuals seem to care little or nothing about the truth. They lie to us with impunity. Many pastors do the very same thing by perverting the Word of God, watering down hard scriptural truth, and failing to set the truthful and moral example which this world of ours so desperately needs. The lie, the lack of truth, pervades business, even the medical world, education, and in fact almost every aspect of our society. The lie goes on in both word and deed. Hypocrisy, saying one thing and doing another, seems part of our everyday life. We exaggerate, and we compromise. We would rather be liked than tell the hard truth or stand up, tall and strong, for what we believe. We seem to have little regard for the conspiracy factor, that we may be equally guilty of not dealing with the lie, the false, the hypocritical, when it is our spiritual duty to do so. The journey to know, believe, and tell the truth is long and difficult indeed, is it not?So often, to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, straight and without exaggeration is unpopular and such a person is often disliked. Recall how hated Jesus of Nazareth was when he confronted, challenged, and convicted so many with the message of the eternal gospel. But he boldly proclaimed himself to be the truth and he told all humankind that to know Him (Me) was to know the truth and that truth would make any believing person:FREE.Free from guilt, free from sin, free from inhibitions, weakness, and anger, FREE! And that freedom would give us courage, courage to stand for the truth so that we would not be ashamed or afraid, or anxious, or intimidated. Rather, we would be confident, actualized, energized, and filled with the Holy Spirit who would give us the words, structure the beliefs within us and make us the new creatures our Lord intended, his disciples who would joyfully pursue the journey of truth lifelong. That same Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth, would govern our conscience, structure our mind and our thinking, and live inside as a warning system. That same Holy Spirit would be our guide, our leader in:KNOWING THE TRUTH.That very same truth which would make us free. So, the answer to Pilate's question WHAT IS TRUTH? Is provided in a nutshell by our Lord. Jesus said:I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.To know him, really know Him, is the only real way to really know THE TRUTH. As you grow in the knowledge, belief, and love of your Savior, you come to know the truth in the most ultimate and satisfying way, and HE is the end goal of our ultimate journey in the search for truth. The more He lives within your heart, the more you know the truth. There is nothing more wonderful in life than to live the life of truth. No matter this world, the lie of Satan which seems to pervade everything, and almost everyone, you can know the truth, and that truth, that ultimate truth, is contained in two words:JESUS CHRIST.

552 I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No One Comes To The Father Except Through Me, A Guided Christian Meditation on John 14:4-7 with the Recenter With Christ app   The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ.  Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate,  deflate. Scripture for Meditation NIV 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” NABRE 4 Where am going you know the way.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”  Meditation: These statements are incredibly meaningful. Jesus is the means by which we understand the Father. Even the term father is diluted by how we understand our earthy world. How are we to understand our relationship with the supreme being that created black holes, supernovae, and gravity. The all powerful being offers a relationship to us, and he calls us his Children. In some sense there are equal dangers of assuming that our earthy environment is a mirror or the heavenly one. In some ways if God is so unknowable that we can't feel any relationship to God, then we miss out on the most meaningful experience of life. Yet if we assume that the relationship is just like our earthly parental ones, we will fail to grasp the gravity of being in a relationship with the God of heaven.  Each of our personal experience colors the way we receive the term as God our Father. Jesus bridges that gap with these words. He states that he is the way, the truth, and the life. Then in the next breath he tells that he is the one that connects us to the Father. Jesus gives a way for us to understand divinity, at least as much as our human minds can grapple with. We should be careful not to let our earthly experience overshadow the nature of this relationship that God offers.  When I was very young, my father died. As such I have always had a hole in my experience. I had men that tried to be a guide for me but none can fill that gap. Similarly many people I talk to in pastoral counseling in my work, have complex or worse, poisonous relationships with their father. My hope for you today is that you are able to liberate these preconceived notions of the limits of human fatherhood, and realize the perfect, loving, patient, and inspiring Fatherly role for which Jesus is the way to become familiar with. Embrace God as your Father. Your creator, your Savior, Your Lord, and Your God.  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. "AN OBJECTIVE STANDARD" - THE GOAL WON'T CHANGE FOR YOU, YOU MUST CHANGE FOR IT.

The Master's Voice Prophecy Blog

Play Episode Listen Later May 19, 2023 5:55

There is an objective standard in Christ. This means that there is one equal path to the Lord (Romans 10:8-13), there is one equal faith in His name (Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:6) and one equal truth that applies to EVERYBODY. The standard doesn't change if you don't like it, if you don't "think" it should be like that, if you don't agree or if you feel like you don't qualify or can't reach it. It is the same path and requirement for everybody, so what we should do is seek daily the grace of God and the assistance of His Holy Spirit to reach toward that standard, rather than making many excuses as to why it is too hard, or needs to be changed for us. God is always righteous - His standard is not burdensome for any who seek Him for understanding. Rather, it is attainable for everyone because the invitation is for everyone. The Cross was for everyone, HIS SPIRIT IS THE STAIRWAY TO IT AND CHRIST'S SACRIFICE IS THE DOORWAY TO ENTER THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE FATHER. "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT BY ME." John 14:6 "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:27- 28 "Brethren, I do count not myself to have already attained: but this one thing I do, FORGETTING THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND, and reaching forth unto those things which are AHEAD, I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13- 14 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Listen closely to the truth. No one can justify God, He justifies Himself. No one can say "My punishment is more than I can bear!" (Genesis 4:13), each man earns his judgement from the Lord and also his rewards by righteous faith in Christ. Faith without works is dead (James 2:14-18) so we must prove our faith by deciding to live each day moving toward the ONE UNIVERSAL STANDARD OF CHRIST which is set for all men. Read the description also, God bless. God will not leave anyone behind who learns to ask Him for HELP. Learns to accept that it's better to confess fear, doubt, unbelief and weakness, in order to receive grace. That is better than *COMPLAINING* against God, accusing Him of unfairness or saying He is not righteous in how He makes His judgements of people and nations. Whoever humbles himself saying "Lord have mercy on me and help me", that one will receive GRACE TO SAVE AND HELP IN TIME OF NEED. That one will be granted the power of the Holy Spirit to grow and overcome his weaknesses. But whoever thinks the standard will change "per individual", no it is not like that. Leave the corrupted gospel and come into the knowledge of Truth.

In chapter 5 we saw that Jesus is the DOOR that leads us through the wall or barrier the bible calls sin. Chapter 7 now applies to the Christian life after we enter the door. It was by grace we entered the door and now we are focusing on how to continue in that grace on our faith journey that the Prophet Isaiah refers to as the Way of Holiness. (Isaiah 35:8-9)

"I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one can come to the father except through me." - John 14:6 NIV On Holy Tuesday, the religious leaders tried to discredit Jesus' power and ultimate authority. But Jesus clearly states his deity and authority in John 14:6. He is the way, the truth and the life. He died so that we can have personal access to the Father. Jesus invites us to trust in Him. Silence and solitude is a place of resting and trusting in God. We invite you to pause for a few moments of silent reflection. "Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path." - Psalm 37:7&24

The most natural thing in life is to have a troubled heart. It doesn't take long to look around us and see that everyone everywhere is experiencing hurt and heartache. How do you deal with that? There are a lot of pathways that culture serves up.Everyone's faith journey is in a different place, it's winding and complex. But God is God and THAT path remains, even when we've wandered off it for a time. There are more paths than ever before in today's world—more options for spiritual “enlightenment” or curate-your-own-beliefs faith. But no path leads to true happiness and everlasting life except the “Jesus alone” path. It may be narrower than you'd like, not as comfortable or easy, it won't make you popular and accepted by the masses but it's more satisfying than you could ever imagine. In today's verses, we are reminded of that beautiful fact.//If you would like to dive deeper into this, or other verses in the Bible, if you have a verse you would like to submit to have included in a future episode if have questions about the Bible that you would like answered in a bonus episode, or simply want to connect with me... text VERSED to 88474 or click hereAlso included in that link is a list of resources and references I use in this podcast and can help you grow deeper in your faith as well. As always – ratings and reviews are massive! The Catholic Church and the Progressives

They are everywhere, these progressives. They are intent upon transforming society, even all of mankind. They are ready to attack anything traditional. They challenge the old order no matter where it is, including all things biological, and sexual, and male–female. Nothing is sacred or sacrosanct, especially anything which has to do with religion. They hate the notion of God. There is no such thing as a divine being, or Creator of the Universe, and most especially a special creator of mankind, male and female. If anything is traditional, conservative, you can be sure that sooner or later it will be under attack, change demanded and often radical change. The means justify the end, and if the end, an ultimate societal, biological and human progressive transformation, requires that the freedoms to differ, disagree or even discuss alternatives, true freedom of speech or belief must be eliminated, so be it. So much is under attack by these angry, aggressive, activists and they are determined to win no matter the cost. This radical, constructive, all encompassing and changing force occurs in religion as with anything else society holds dear. Progressivism arises in the German Catholic Church where there is open opposition to fundamental and traditional Catholic theology traditionally in place for hundreds and hundreds of years. German Catholic Bishops and lay leaders have petitioned Pope Francis to loosen the church's rules on priestly celibacy and to permit the ordination of women as deacons. Such petitions are the latest in the German's progressive drive for change no matter that Francis has warned that such moves if enacted could well split the worldwide Catholic Church. The draft statement from the German Catholic Bishops called on the Pope to allow Catholic Bishops around the world to ordain married men and to give already ordained Priests permission to marry without having to leave the priesthood. If any such changes were made, the Catholic Church would fundamentally change at its core and the progressives within the church would have scored a major victory. It will be interesting to see if Pope Francis bends and accommodates, which of course means a major and fundamental compromise to a radical once considered heresy. The German Bishops went further. They asked the Pope for permission for Bishops to ordain women as deacons. In the Catholic Church, that is a lower rank of clergy, lower than Priests. But women would be authorized to preach which the German Bishops find reasonable and many Catholics agree, especially those in Germany. And more. The German Synod is asking the Pope to permit women as deacons and as established members of the clergy to officiate at baptisms. That was once reserved strictly for Priests. Further, the Germans are asking the Pope for permission for women to perform weddings and to officiate at funerals. All such clergy functions have been prohibited to this point for women and only authorized by the Catholic Church for men. Pope Francis has turned down similar requests before and it will be interesting to see how he reacts this time around. There are those in the Catholic Church worldwide who believe that the discipline of celibacy for Priests is a real symbol of the orientation of life towards the Lord, embedded as they say within a long spiritual experience. Married to Christ for Priests is a hallmark for the Catholic Church. Even the Apostle Paul believed that one could tend to the things of the Lord better and with more singular devotion if a male Priest was not married. Many feel that celibacy however at this extreme level may have given rise in part to the sexual abuse and the pedophilia which has troubled the Catholic Church for years. Permission to marry would go far in ameliorating this problem. The German Catholic Bishops point out to the Pope that sacramental marriage, the union between one man and one woman, points to God's love and unbreakable faithfulness towards His people. They indicate that God created Eve for Adam so that he would not be alone and that he would bear children. He created them male and female, no matter what the progressives say and for man and woman that was a good thing. So, there is a logical extension between that God–created act and the quality role that women should play in His service. The German Bishops point out that married men already can be ordained as Priests in some of the Eastern Catholic Churches. The Vatican also has allowed, they remind the Pope, the ordination as Priests of married men who formally served as Protestant Ministers but converted to Catholicism. Conservative Catholics remind the Germans that of the more than 400,000 Catholic Priests, the vast majority are celibate. Conservative Catholics including retired Pope Benedict XVI have warned that loosening the rules on clerical celibacy could undermine the church's tradition and identity. That it surely could. It would also produce an extremely different priestly culture, lifestyle and approach to the church which could have both benefit and negative effects.Interestingly, the German Bishops admitted that a shortage of Catholic Priests in Germany was one reason for opening the Priesthood to married men. In short, the call for this radical change was practical, meeting a current earthly need of the German church and perhaps the Catholic Church worldwide. The German Catholic Synod also stated very forthrightly the following:“Obligatory celibacy may attract a disproportionately large number of men who are unsure of their sexuality, of their sexual identity and orientation, and wish to avoid confronting it”.That, say conservative Catholics, sounds like true compromise and the lessening of the standards of the church which needs to solve its problems in other ways. But the German Catholic Bishops are adamant in their call for GENDER EQUITY in the church. They firmly believe that women are called in equal measure to exercise diaconal ministry and there can be no exclusive on the basis of gender. They point out that women served as deacons in the first millennium of the church's history. They pointed to all the ministerial acts and Christian services rendered by women in the time of Jesus and the early church. But what really concerned conservative Catholics was that the Germans admitted that all of these measures, if approved by Pope Francis, were merely intermediate steps toward opening all sacramental offices to all genders. Conservatives fear that may mean transgender admissions or others with gender identity (i.e. lesbian or gay) which is now forbidden by the church. Jesus they say was a man and he appointed 12 male disciples, no women. How cogent that argument is remains to be seen. So, the Catholic Church itself a mammoth, worldwide institution is under attack. There is progressive and radical progressive demand for change. If these petitions are granted by Pope Francis, there is no question the Roman Catholic Church will radically change, perhaps not all at once but for sure in due course. There are indeed two sides. But these petitions cannot be granted without fundamental change and potential damage, real damage to the Orthodox, traditional, firmly and biblically established Roman Catholic Church. Time will tell. What a world. There is something, my fellow Christians and Americans which will never change. That is:I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE. NO MAN COMES UNTO THE FATHER – BUT BY ME!

Scriptures tell us very clearly, Old and New Testaments that the world in which we live, our beloved planet Earth will END. All we know and experience, all we assume with regard to planet Earth will someday be no more. The Bible does not say when, for only God Almighty knows that. But it is clear that there will be an ending and it even tells us in some ways how this world of ours will end. In the last days, the end times, there will be plagues and disease. How about Killer Covid for starters. There will be lawlessness, men and women doing what they want, living how they will, defying any authority, producing chaos, rebellion, riots and physical violence. How about Portland, Seattle, Philadelphia, the riots and killings in Chicago and New York for starters. Rampant individuality, immorality defying authority. There will be in the last days an immorality such as the world has not seen. We will find the end of moral absolutes like the ten commandments scoffed and mocked and the rights and freedoms of the Constitution, ignored and ridiculed. There will be no moral authority, none whatsoever and what tens of millions of people regard as an ultimate authority, the Holy Bible, will be ridiculed, mocked and ignored. We see my fellow Americans the beginning of that very thing today, do we not?  Even as the Bible is hardly read and virtually ignored, so is the church by so many. The Christian church, so many of them and their Pastors, have become compromised, ignoring Gospel fundamentals, becoming social institutions rather than worship and learning centers about the one true God and our Lord Jesus Christ. So much of the once great and powerful Christian church becomes irrelevant, ignored and compromised. All of that are signs of the end times, the last days and they now exist and grow, do they not? What do you think? Many of us consider ourselves EVANGELICALS. That is, we once did. Today, many wonder exactly what an Evangelical is. Years ago, the statement of belief was clear, biblical and fundamental. Today, whether in writing or practice, EVANGELICAL does not mean what it once meant. Many of us simply refer to ourselves as Bible believing, Christ following, the great God Jehovah worshiping Christians. Perhaps the term EVANGELICAL should be replaced by:          REAL CHRISTIAN         BIBLE BELIEVING CHRISTIAN That may sound simplistic but it is basic, fundamental and real. I for one would prefer to be that rather than to be labeled by a term which may not define who I am or what it is I believe. What do you think? Do you consider yourself an Evangelical and if so, are you satisfied with the current, cultural definition of Evangelical, are you? Former President Barrack Hussein Obama told us clearly that we Americans and Christians lived in the day and age of:          POST TRUTH. That is, that there was no such thing as absolute truth. Nor was there any absolute morality, laws of conduct. That politics itself would become riddled with moral relativism and the truth du jour, meaning of course that anything which advanced the ultimate cause and objectives was the truth at least the truth of the day. The Bible for men like Obama, and so many others was a nice collection of stories, mythologies and suggestions, anything but absolute, anything but TRUTH. When Jesus the Christ said:          I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE such a statement would be ridiculed or at best simply ignored. Today, that very Bible, Christianity itself, its storied history is not just ignored, but attacked. Statues are toppled, churches are vandalized, Christians are killed and there is an all out attack on anything Christian, or for that matter other faiths as well, in politics. If these new radicals, Cancel Culture (and religion and especially Christianity) progressives have their way, we the people will eventually live under a new standard of morality which in fact is no morality at all. We live in a day and age where cultural standards, lifestyles, and morality itself are essentially defined by:          LGBTQIA–U, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersexual, alternate and now the brand new category UNDECIDED. Individuals now determine who and what they are. They decide their sexual orientation (SO) and their gender identity (GI). Science and especially biology mean nothing. Nor do traditional terms like male and female. Politics tries in every way to accommodate. So do so many churches. Even the once great and consistent theological church, the Roman Catholic Church, wrestles with the issues, searches for compromise and watches as a certain schism and rebellion occurs within its own ranks. The immorality, the theological lawlessness of the end times and the last days is here and now.  The church as so much of our new and revolutionary society has become in so many ways:          WOKE. It seeks accommodation rather than confrontation, a moral stand up approach to mankind and society which scripture requires. It distances itself in so many instances from that now hateful word:          SIN. No matter that the scriptures clearly teach that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, and are in need of redemption, salvation and repentance, and that through Jesus Christ, that is so often ignored by contemporary Pastors who again, seek compromise and accommodation rather than approaching society and culture with a powerful confrontational and antagonistic message of the Gospel. So much of the church seeks to accommodate the new moral relativism and to get along with modern day society and thinking even though Cancel Culture accommodates and fosters:          ANYTHING GOES, anything. The woke church and its Pastors now become the false prophets of the 21st Century, as the Bible predicts and do more harm to real Christianity than even its enemies. They subvert from within, more or less, and the trusting people, the sheep of their pastures are misled. There is nothing worse than a non–biblical misleading of an open, trusting, searching soul, nothing.  Christianity seeks to accommodate the great issues of the day where it can. Take abortion for example. It is wrong, it is killing, it is biblically anathema and it is condemned by all right thinking churches, including and especially real true Evangelical and Catholic. President Biden for example promotes abortion, including the Hyde and Mexico City agreements, and of course champions vigorously Roe v. Wade and seeks to have that even codified into law. At the same time, he seeks communion, partaking of the eucharist and the blessings of the Catholic church when it vigorously condemns abortion as a moral evil.  Biden and Pelosi promote THE EQUALITY ACT among other legislation which fosters the right of LGBTQIA at the expense of the freedom of religion guaranteed in the First Amendment. Democrats wish to destroy sexual hierarchy and historical understanding championing sexual orientation and gender identity.  Progressive, radical, anti–religion Democrats and others believe in euthanasia, essentially the killing of the elderly.  They promote contraception which the Catholic church abhors. And celibacy and they attack standard biblical principles with regard to female participation in the church. And so often, the church sits back, does little or nothing, debates and discusses how they might accommodate the new thinking and the new morality while the traditional and absolute morality of the past is eroded step by step. Even the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) embraces so much of the new, even at the expense of the Constitution. Interestingly, six of the Justices are Roman Catholic and two are Jewish. No matter their so called private faith, if any, they seem ready to decide against religious freedom, and faith, and the practice of religion in the public square, condoning moral abominations like abortion (Roe v. Wade) and at that judicial level, the old morality gradually disappears and new standards arise.  In the first 100 days so called of the Biden Administration, the President has issued more than 40 public proclamations in the form of executive orders, executive statements of policy, and other executive actions which are in fact anti–religious, anti–Christian and even contrary to his faith, anti–Catholic. Time and again you will hear presidential press secretary Jan Psaki say that the Biden Administration and President Biden:          RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE with the old morality and especially with the thinking and theological beliefs of the Catholic church. All of this, my fellow Americans, is the beginning indeed of THE END TIMES, the last days. So says the scriptures, backed up and supported by what is actually happening in the world today. The freedoms of the First Amendment of the Constitution, all five of them, all of which are synergistic and necessary for the support, practice and continuation of all seem to mean little. For there is no freedom of religion without freedom of speech, and press, and assembly (the church worship itself) and petition, all of which together really make up and are essential parts of: FREEDOM OF RELIGION. TAKE AWAY ONE, OR MORE, AND THE OTHERS FAIL.  So, my fellow Americans, and fellow Christians, the fundamental issues of today are:          WHO ARE YOU?         WHAT ARE YOU?         HOW WILL YOU LIVE AND BELIEVE?  The new world of Cancel Culture, the new WOKE World wants you deconstructed, compromised, part of them, changed not through salvation and redemption but through denial and deconstruction. They the progressives want you and me to be like them. Now, and in days to come, they are ready to do whatever it takes to accomplish those progressive – radical – anti–American – anti–Christian objectives first through education, the political process but eventually, down the road, violence and physical force if necessary. Now more than ever WE THE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE and joined with all people of faith must:          FIGHT THE FIGHT OF FAITH. The time is short, THE END TIMES ARE HERE! They have begun and they are real. The fulfillment of these last days may take months, years or more to fully happen. But the end of all things, so accurately and truthfully predicted by the Bible will occur. I do hope and pray that you are ready, that you have been fully repentant and redeemed, that salvation through Christ is yours and with that power of the Lord, and the armor of scripture, you are ready for the fight. I for one will never compromise my faith, never, no matter what. That is a belief I have even unto death and I hope you are the same way. May God bless you, strengthen you and keep you safe in His love, mercy and protection. But, if you are called upon in this day and age to do so, I hope you like me are ready to put your:          ALL ON THE ALTER. Even unto death. Are you?

Are we going to be okay? The disciples asked the same thing of Jesus when He told them He was leaving. Jesus gave them the answer, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE." Today's message looks at how Jesus' response answers our desperate question, that He is our way to being okay. He is I AM.
