In this episode Jamie Baulch continues sharing his life journey and lessons learnt from being an Olympic Athlete and now having transitioned into the next chapter of his life. This is Part 2 of a two part series.
Jamie Baulch is a Welsh sprint athlete and television presenter. He won the 400m gold medal at the 1999 World Championships As a member of British 4x400m relay teams, he won a gold medal at the 1997 World Championships and silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games. He represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games where he won an individual silver and a bronze medal in the 4 × 400 m relay. After his retirement from athletics in 2005 Baulch set up several different businesses including 'definitive', his sports management company. He also owns a sports memorobillia company named 'Authentic Sports' and a company, 'Jamie Baulch Academy', which sends sports personalities into schools to encourage children to become more involved in sport. Baulch also became a squad member for the Welsh touch rugby team in 2010 which won the European cup later that year.

In this episode we’re going to be talking to Jamie Baulch Entrepreneur and Olympian.Jamie’s talent for running was spotted by his Headmaster, Eric Atkins, on sports day at Henllys Junior School in Newport. After beating everyone so convincingly on that memorable sports day, Mr Atkins encouraged Jamie to join Newport Harriers, in South Wales. After the introduction to athletics, when Jamie was only 10 years old he never looked back. Jamie developed into one of the big personalities of the British athletics team, recognised by his peroxide dreadlocks for many years, which led to a promotional campaign with Vidal Sassoon. Jamie made his debut for the GB & NI team at a Junior International in Salamanca, Spain, in 1991. He burst onto the international scene, winning the 200m and breaking the Welsh record in that race. In his first year competing over 400m, Jamie was selected for the 1996 Olympic Games and won Silver as part of the 4x400m quartet. Jamie became World Indoor Champion in 1999 and still holds the British Indoor record over 400m set in 1997. Jamie won 13 medals at Olympic Games, World and European Championships and Commonwealth Games. Jamie helped campaign for his team’s World Championship Gold medals from 1997 to be presented to the 4x400m quartet including Iwan Thomas, Roger Black and Mark Richardson after a 13 year wait. This followed the disqualification of the USA team after Antonio Pettigrew admitted doping in 2007. Jamie continues to be a popular and respected voice in the world of athletics. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has been serving a suspension after running a state-sponsored doping operation and recently missed a deadline to hand over lab data to WADA. Meanwhile WADA is facing increasing criticism over its handling of the Russia doping affair. Many believe the goalposts have been moved specifically to welcome the Russia Anti Doping agency back into the fold.
