Two days after Conor Benn humbled Chris Eubank Jnr, it was announced that Anthony Joshua would fight, gulp, Jake Paul on December 20. Now there's a sentence that would have astonished pretty much everyone only one year ago. But it doesn't end there. Joseph Parker failed a test for cocaine; Oleksandr Usyk has lost a belt; and, wait for it, Fabio Wardley is a world heavyweight champion. In an effort to stabilise our senses we go back in time to when Roy Jones Jnr was at his peak and James Toney, the fearsome super-middleweight king, was expected to beat him. Talk about a bumpy ride! If you've read this far, we're astonished, but do us one more favour: Post a review on Apple. If we get enough of those in one week we might even return to the podcast charts. But perhaps that's asking too much in this already wibbly-wobbly week. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley each risk their position in the heavyweight sweepstakes while knowing only the winner of their collision will be invited to challenge Oleksandr Usyk. Parker will rightly be the favourite but is the New Zealander's ‘renaissance' being overstated when one examines his recent opponents more carefully? Throw in Wardley's astonishing will to win, alongside the potency he possesses when his punches land clean, and suddenly, the outcome widely expected might be turned on its head. Elsewhere, the TKO invasion is gathering pace while drawing irk from Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya; George Liddard proves he's going places; Danny Garcia might not be going anywhere; and, in This Week, we head back in time for some vintage Matthew Saad Muhammad mayhem. Send us a textTwo things can be true at once: Jaron “Boots” Ennis looked sharp at 154 — and it's still way too early to crown him the heir to Terence Crawford. We open with a reality check on tune-ups, why they exist, and what actually proves greatness when you jump weight. Then we map the route Boots needs—Madrimov, Tszyu, maybe Thurman—so talent meets resistance that talks back. The hype's fine. Skipping steps isn't.Next, we dive into the fight that can light up the fall: Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Erickson Lubin. We break down Ortiz's pressure and body work against Lubin's patience and clean shots, asking the only question that matters: Can Lubin keep Vergil honest without the kind of thud that stops a freight train? With Ortiz's hand health, Crawford's move toward 160, and a potential Boots showdown looming, this one carries real weight. Then it's heavyweight chaos: Joseph Parker vs Fabio Wardley—a live-betting puzzle pitting Parker's composure against Wardley's raw power. We talk odds, variance, and why discipline is the only cheat code up top. From there, it's the sanctioning-body traffic jam featuring Usyk, Pulev, and Itauma, each caught in mandatory madness.Promotion gets its moment too: Jake Paul's MVP keeps finding crossover gold while Danny Garcia's Brooklyn KO reminds us what real matchmaking means. It's that rare week where business meets boxing—and one clean hook can still steal the show.THE SPAR-INN ON YOUTUBE

In this episode, we start with the lead, which is Danny Garcia, a Hall of Famer? Dakota went to his fight last night and provided insight on the whole card, including Chris Colbert's comeback win, Reshati Mati, Damian Knyba, and Gabriel Rosado's wins...but the big takeaway is what is Garcia's legacy? CHEAP PLUG, I also wrote about this here: https://www.boxingscene.com/articles/has-danny-garcia-put-together-a-hall-of-fame-careerAlso watch Dakota's new video on @ITRboxing here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDDpRztUIpYThen we move on to the MVP card in Texas, in which Lourdes Juarez, the WBC junior flyweight titleholder and younger sister of Mariana Juarez, won a close decision over Yesica Nery Plata. The fight was world-class and is a credit to MVP as this is the type of bout two-to-three years ago, that would be buried on an undercard or not shown at all.In the co-feature, Omar Juarez broke down Omar Rosario to win 10-round UD, but Juarez's younger brother, Sebastian, was the star of the night. Sebastian Juarez was dropped in the first round, lost a point, only to stop Demarcus Layton, in what pretty clearly was the 'Round of the Year'Other notables on this card: Unified women's middleweight champion Desley Robinson stopped Logan Holler in two rounds, and super middleweight Ronny Alvarez is a bad boy, as he looked like a 21-year-old Cuban fighter who can move up the ranks fast. In L.A., Albert Gonzalez defeated Leonardo Baez, as he continues to be my No.1 prospect in the sport. Other Top Rank fighters featured on the card were Andres Cortes and Elvis Rodriguez, who both got wins. Perla Bazaldua and Yazmin Martinez Jimenez fought to a draw. In the U.K., George Liddard became a major player as he stopped Kieron Conway in a fun fight, Shannon Ryan defeated Chloe Watson after Watson suffered an eye injury early in the fight The bout went to the cards. Tiah Mai Ayton and Jimmy Sains also got stoppage wins. This week...we have the WBC Grand Prix tournament taking place. One of the more fun events that we have seen in some time. Thursday, Salita Promotions returns in Puerto Rico with a great main event between unbeaten Joshua Pagan and Maliek Montgomery. Ashleyann Lozada vs. Melissa Oddessa Parker is a solid co-feature at women's middleweight. Then, the big fight on DAZN pay-per-view. Joseph Parker will face Fabio Wardley. The winner would face Oleksandr Usyk at some point if Usyk decides to continue boxing. The undercard is as regional as it gets as Lewis Edmondson vs. Ezra Taylor, but not much else stands out. Contender alert: Rene Calixto Bibiano will face Hasanboy Dusmatov in an IBF flyweight eliminator fight.
