ESTROE on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/Estroe.official.fanpage - SoundCloud: @estroe HOW I MET THE BASS on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/howimetthebass - Twitter: www.twitter.com/howimetthebass - Mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/HowIMetTheBass 3 QUESTIONS to ESTROE: Q: How did you get in touch with electronic music? A: In 1989 I was mainly listening to disco, R&B (Swingbeat) and hip hop. Until a friend of mine who was into house music asked me to go with her to a so called 'house' party. It took me a few rounds of going out to appreciate the music fully. A definite turning point was when she gave me the CD of Quazar - Into the future. I was really impressed by the music, especially the track I've also used for my mix called 'Cycledrops'. Living close to Amsterdam I was able to listen to a few pirate radio shows who were broadcasting house music as well and that's how I got hooked on electronic music. I have stories and memories with all tracks, but I'll highlight a few of them: - Wham: I was a big fan of Wham, at the end of elementary school I performed ' Wake me up before you go go'. I playbacked Shirley from Pepsi and Shirley, the background singers. At the time I also so had a crush on the guy who was imitating George Michael. I remember that this boy later got cancer and I don't know if he ever made it because we all went to different schools. - New Edition: Just fell in love with the whole album when it came out. Hadn't listened to it for years and years until a few years ago I had a gig in Toronto. A new friend called Benny Chang gave me a lift in his car and he had this New Edition and old Bobby Brown cd's on this car stereo. I was so happy driving with him in his car and seeing the skyline of Toronto. I think it's one of the reasons I like Toronto so much. - Janet Jackson: I remember the Janet Jackson concert, I think it was the Rhythm Nation tour. My friend and I had tickets but we somehow forgot the tickets! We had to use all our charms on the security guys and they let us through! - Mr. Fingers Closer: This is one of my first house records, I had to search for it for a long time, I think I finally found it one time when I played in Berlin and visited Hardwax. Q: Besides Djing and producing you´re a real workaholic it seems. You're a teacher, a mental coach, working on a video project. Please give us an insight! A: Having a background as a nurse I'm used to hard work. I've combined nursing and music for a long time until I quit nursing 9 years ago and decided to put all my cards on music. 2 years ago I was asked to apply for a job at a music conservatory that specialises in POP and Electronic Music, as a student coach. I love working there, the students and colleagues are ginving me so much inpsiration and energy! So nowadays I'm also coordinating the E-musicians who do internships at recordings studios etc. And I started giving E-performance lessons to the first year students together with Julien Chaptal who's also teaching. The combination of working at the conservatory and in my studio by myself keeps me in balance. Besides teaching I'm working on my other projects. My label Rosedale Records and I'm also producing my own music and remixes. With a photographer I know I'm making soundscapes for his small video porttraits. It's almost finished and I will share it on my social media then. If you like a preview keep an eye on my Instagram. Q: Which future projects from Estroe and your imprint Rosedale are on the way? A: At the moment I'm also working on a special Rosedale Records live set, combing the visuals from AMMO with Rosedale music. A new release with Toki Fuko with a Brendon Moeller remix is coming out pretty soon. Recently I've also started experimenting with my voice in my productions. But my productions are going a bit slow now a days because I have to focus on so many different things during my week.

DavideB -Deep in Love session- Deep n Soulful house

Brothers n Sisters   this week´s Deep in Love session is 2 hours of deep bouncy house. It will take you back to that corner of your favourite club at 6 am, it will make you dance.  Comparing the listening fugures of my live shows, i now understand that deep is prefered to soulful house. It´s a sign of our times, still im really happy and grateful that you guys are holding on to quality house music rather than turning to the ever growing EDM. Im going to keep on linking the tunes so that you will find and possibly buy the ones that you like. I still don´t understand why it is so hard to get in touch with the person that is spending time recording fixing and posting his mixes for you to download for free. Please take a second of your life to make contact with me to let me know what you think about my podcast and why not press the follow button, believe me appreciation is always welcome.   Zoo Look-Over Me Feat. The Terrace Podcast Presents this weeks special guest "Lilith" from Amsterdam. There is an underlying order in this universe, which expresses itself in the form of numerical relations. This universal order is the basis of my music. I do this because I believe that when your music is based on this order, you can touch people in the most profound way.” - Lilith, July 2011 Rising Dutch house and techno talent Lilith is showing herself to be as independent and as strong a force as her mythological namesake in today's tough musical climate. Born Caroline Arends, the Amsterdam residenat takes her sobriquet from the woman who, in Jewish mythology, was said to be Adam's wife (move over Eve). She left her husband as she felt too constrained and subservient to him – and it's that same desire to be individual and different that drives this emerging start. First embracing the art and science of DJing in 2004, Lilith spent 7 years as one half of Naald & Draad, developing a weighty, bullshit-free groovy tech house sound that won her and her partner-in-crime great acclaim across her native country and continent. 2010 was to be both the year they released their first record – the cheeky From Blossom Till Dawn on Daniel Sanchez's acclaimed Bla Bla Records – and the year they parted company. In the summer of 2010, Lilith was born as a solo DJ and producer. One with big ambitions. Following on from playing national festival and club mainstays like Mysteryland, Dance Valley, Melkweg, Catwalk, Rockit Open Air, Welcome To The Future Open Air, TWSTD and places further afield like Ibiza's legendary Bora Bora, she now holds down a residency at Amsterdam's legendary bastion of all things underground, Studio 80. She also plays a part in organising the bi-monthly Warehouse parties at Rotterdam's Pakhuis, spreading the good word of house and techno across both of the country's major cities. Across the years, she's played alongside heroes of the scene, from Dennis Ferrer Jeff Mills to Guy Gerber, Karotte to Tobi Neumann, Ripperton to Gregor Tresher and many more. Lilith debuted her live act in July 2011 on the main stage at Have Nice Day festival to great acclaim. Her first release as Lilith - Angel's Love on Monique Musique - has proved to be an even bigger success than she could have hoped for, smashing the Space Ibiza opening party with its sensual rhythms, and receiving support from the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Loco Dice, Carlo Lio, Gel Abril, Hernan Cattaneo, Andrew Grant,Maya Jane Coles, Julien Chaptal, Anton Pieete and more. It points a finger to a very bright career in the studio, while her strengths and popularity as a DJ continue to blossom thanks to her harmonically-tailored mixing skills and exquisite track selection. Lilith recently released a much anticipated and well-received "Master Codes EP" (release date 24/01/2012, Memoria Recordings). Fully immersed in creating and promoting the music she loves so passionately, Lilith is definitely here to stay. www.theterracepodcast.com

The new Ketoloco podcast series launches with an exclusive mix from one of our favourites; Julien Chaptal. Here's a few words from Julien... "I often listen to podcasts when coming back from a party with friends or driving somewhere, so i thought I'd put together some tunes I like to listen to at these moments of the day. Mostly easy going vibes but also more dancefloor oriented tracks. Some of the tracks in this mix I have played in sets for a year or more and I just can't stop playing them. I also found a lot of great new tracks recently that i wanted to fit in this set as well. Its a sort of snapshot of what i'm enjoying listening to and playing at the moment. It was recorded at the studio where I produce, after coming back from a beach party last weekend. I used Traktor going straight into 2 channels on an Allen & Heath mixer. I knew more or less which tracks I wanted to include but I decided to do it on the fly as it mimics more what I do when I play. After that I added some vocal samples here and there and made a couple of edits to shorten the set in Ableton Live. Often I make podcasts entirely in Ableton Live because i enjoy making edits of the tracks I play and add loops etc on top but i thought i'd try another way this time." ENJOY
