Sie war Deutschlands Beste. Dreimal Handballerin des Jahres. Beim BVB gelang ihr der Sprung in die Nationalmannschaft. Heute ist Clara Woltering Torwarttrainerin bei Borussia Dortmunds Handball-Damen. Natürlich fiebert sie dem Saisonfinale entgegen: Holt der BVB tatsächlich das Double?! Aber Clara Woltering hat längst auch eine zweite Leidenschaft neben dem Sport: die Landwirtschaft. Im Kreis Coesfeld ist sie die Chefin eines Bauernhofs. Heißt: Ihre Woche hat sieben Arbeitstage. Echonomist was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is an institution in Greece's electronic music scene, while quickly growing his international fan-base through releases on labels like Innervisions, Blue Shadow, Watergate, Multinotes, and more... At early age, Petros' family got him a basic synthesizer (GEM) and hired a music teacher to teach him traditional Greek music in order to entertain his family on Sundays. Much to his family's dismay, the plan didn't seem as interesting to Petros as creating weird sounds with his small harmonium and recording his first tracks. Soon, Petros finished his first downtempo album and formed his first music project called "IνΦο". Performing live with his band, consisting of live musicians and a vocalist, they covered a wide spectrum of electronic downtempo music, releasing 3 studio albums until 2009, gaining some considerable fame–mainly in the Greek electronic music scene. Always on the lookout for new sounds and music, he soon began to DJ, discovering the full range of electronic dance music. Petros had fallen under the spell of stateside artists and labels like Maurizio, Carl Craig, Black Dog, Underground Resistance, and Echocord–to name a few. At this point he started his own solo project Echonomist, releasing his first tracks on labels such as Resopal, Upon You Records, Time Has Changed, and Dessous Recordings. Today, more than ever, Echonomist is driven by his passion for musical creativity. He has evolved into a professional DJ, producer, and live performer. While his style may vary somewhere between underground Tech House and Techno, he never compromises on quality. A fact that found him a place amongst the most prolific producers worldwide. His elaborate live performances have been met with international acclaim. As a DJ, Echonomist brings the same qualities to the table. Comfortably combining music from a wide range, Petros is a dynamic and interactive DJ who blends rolling basslines, harmonic synths, and energetic percussions to craft an infectious and atmospheric sound. Im kühlen Klima des Tamar Valley haben die beiden aus einer ehemaligen Schaffarm ein kleines Paradies für Weinliebhaber geschaffen: «Wir haben uns sofort in dieses Stück Land verliebt.» Matthias Utzinger aus Wädenswil (ZH) arbeitete auf Weingütern im In- und Ausland, darunter fünf Jahre in Südfrankreich. 2015 bereiste er die Welt auf der Suche nach dem idealen Ort für seinen Weinberg. Dabei lernte er seine heutige Frau Lauren kennen: «Sie lud mich über Weihnachten zu sich nach Tasmanien ein. In diesem Moment wusste ich: Hier gehöre ich hin und finde meinen Weinberg.» Gemeinsam starteten sie das Herzensprojekt. Das Abenteuer des eigenen Weinanbaus begann 2018. Im Norden der Insel, mit Blick auf den Tamar River, bewirtschaften sie heute ihr Gut. Während der Ernte sind die Tage lang. Viele stellen sich den Winzer romantisch auf der Veranda vor, wie er auf seine Rebberge blickt, sagt Matthias schmunzelnd: «In Wirklichkeit sitze ich die meiste Zeit auf dem Traktor, aber ich liebe die Arbeit im Rebberg.» Exotische Schädlinge Tasmanien bringt auch Herausforderungen mit sich, die im europäischen Weinbau unbekannt sind. Kängurus und Wallabies bedienen sich gerne an den Trauben, weshalb die Utzingers ihre Reben mit Netzen schützen müssen. Gleichzeitig lassen sie viel Land in seinem natürlichen Zustand, um ein gesundes Ökosystem zu fördern, inklusive giftiger Schlangen und Spinnen, die hier heimisch sind.

Die Brasspop-Band Unique Horns aus Lyss hat ihre ersten eigenen Songs veröffentlicht. Zu beiden Songs – «In 2001» und «Space Traktor» – hat die Band auch ein Video herausgegeben. «Es macht Spass, etwas ganz Eigenes zu produzieren», sagt Yves Chapuis von den Unique Horns im Gespräch mit der SRF Musikwelle. Die Brasspop-Band hat bereits zwei weitere Songs in Produktion. «Diese werden noch in der ersten Hälfte dieses Jahres erscheinen», so Chapuis. Die Unique Horns sind aus der ehemaligen Musikgesellschaft MG Lyss entstanden. «Als wir nur noch zwölf Mitglieder waren, wussten wir, dass wir etwas ändern müssen», sagt Yves Chapuis. Dass aus der MG Lyss jedoch eine Brasspop-Band werden würde, war nicht von Anfang an klar. Die Idee habe sich im Verlauf eines Konzertprojekts immer mehr konkretisiert. Die Wandlung von der Musikgesellschaft zur Brasspop-Band sei mehrheitlich gut angekommen, so Chapuis. Anderen Vereinen in einer ähnlichen Situation rät er: «Wichtig ist, etwas auszuprobieren und den Mut zur Veränderung zu haben.» Die Unique Horns sind sich der über 155-jährigen Geschichte der MG Lyss nach wie vor bewusst. Ganz offiziell nennen sie sich „Unique Horns – MGL Brasspop-Band”. Die beiden Songs «In 2001» und «Space Traktor» sind auf allen gängigen Streaming-Plattformen zu hören. Mit unserem Gast, dem Biologen und Parfümeur Marcel Flemming sprechen wir wieder über einen ganz besonderen Naturduft: Aus dem unscheinbaren, fast kartoffelähnlichen Rhizom der Iris entsteht nach einem aufwändigen und langen Prozess einer der schillerndsten Düfte. Dieser ist weder aus der Parfümerie noch aus der Aromatherapie wegzudenken, obwohl er nur mit viel Geduld und Geld zu beschaffen ist. Diese Pflanze symbolisiert in ihrem Wuchs, in ihrer Verarbeitung und in ihrer Anwendung das Werden und Vergehen unseres Lebens.Marcel wühlt sich einerseits buchstäblich durch die Erde (auch per Traktor!) wie auch durch Labor-Analysen und Reagenzgläser. Um den Anbau der empfindlichen Rhizome rankt sich viel Geheimniskrämerei, die Begriffe rund um diesen Naturduft werden uneinheitlich bis unkorrekt verwendet, auch die Analysen der Inhaltsstoffe sind oft missverständlich, Marcel klärt auf.Für den erdig-himmlischen Duft der unterschiedlichen Iris-Extrakte sind unter anderem Irone verantwortlich, das sind Moleküle, die erst durch den Luftsauerstoff aus Vorstufen (Iridale, welche geruchlos sind) entstehen. I am really proud that this is my 200th mix release over the past 20 years or so of mixing dnb harmonically using software. Despite now being a little longer in tooth, I hope I have inspired others to give it a try and leave vinyl/decks in the 20th century (or to those that just like the smell). The technology has advanced in many ways since I started off using 2 instances of Winamp and a cross-fader plugin...not least the tools to help the DJ mix harmonically and other automations like beatmatching to free them up to focus on higher value input tasks. I expect to see AI being used to this end soon and am always looking for innovative ways to make a better sounding mix. I've been experimenting with generated cover art by crafting a prompt which includes the playlist metadata and expect it won't be long before specialist models can help suggest > mix > dynamically remix > even generate next tracks based not only on analysed key and BPM but on facets like playlist history, vocal themes, arrangement structure and phrasing. Wie Gurken mit einem Gurkenflieger geerntet werden – das schaut sich Siham in Niederbayern an. Was aussieht wie ein Segelflugzeug hilft Gurkenbauer Ludwig und seinem Team dabei, Gurken per Hand zu ernten. Dabei fährt ein Traktor langsam über das Feld, damit die 24 Erntehelfer:innen links und rechts auf den beiden Plattformen ganz genau arbeiten können. Siham darf das natürlich selbst einmal ausprobieren… Nachdem jede Menge Gurken geerntet wurden, wird im zweiten Teil der Sachgeschichte gezeigt, wie diese zu Salzgurken verarbeitet werden. In riesigen Speicherbehältern, den sogenannten Silos, werden die Gurken in Salzsole eingelegt. Wenn dieser Prozess – die Fermentierung der Gurken – abgeschlossen ist, müssen sie als nächstes zum Entsalzen in einen Frischwassertank. Dann werden sie noch sortiert, geschnitten und in Portionen verpackt und schon sind sie fertig für ihren Einsatz – zum Beispiel auf einem leckeren Burger! Bei der Produktion von Salzgurken bleiben riesige Mengen Salzsole übrig. Wofür könnte man die noch gebrauchen? Eine Firma in Niederbayern hatte ein tolle Idee: Die Salzsole kann für den Einsatz beim Winterdienst verarbeitet werden – Gurkenwasser gegen Glätte. Siham begleitet das Gurkenwasser vom Silo bis hin zur Straßenmeisterei. Und zeigt in einem Experiment, wie das salzige Gurkenwasser im Winter auf der Straße wirkt…
