This year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees are in and we see how we did with our picks from Episode #236.Jay regales us in a recap of the Martin Guitar factory tour he experienced last week in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. The custom order tour, made possible friend of the show, Keith Grasso, and two Island Music customers, includes the standard tour plus a look in Martin's selections of rare woods that it keeps under lock and key. Long story short, Jay was sold on the quality and is currently working out the budget for a D-28.Song: Richard Thompson - “Freeze”Next up it's a special TayTay edition of “News with Nick.” Following the spectacular failure of TayTay's Eras Tour ticket sale, Ticketmaster parent company Live Nation is about to be sued by the justice department for antitrust concerns. Then it's on to the New York Times, in an article titled “Taylor Swift Has Given Fans a Lot. Is It Finally Too Much?” Jay actually gave the album a listen and has some thoughts, Nick tried but bailed for the new Ghost Note album. Greg doesn't want anything to do with it.Song: Ghost Note - “JB's Out! (Do it Babay)”Greg brings us a remembrance of Allman Brothers co-founder, Dickey Betts, who died last week at the age of 80. Along with writing some of the bands larger hits, Betts forever changed how we think two rock guitars should sound together. He was a massively influential guitarist and his legacy lives on in the generations of music that his playing inspired.Songs:The Allman Brothers - "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed"The Allman Brothers - “Ramblin' Man”

First off, thank you for the lovely messages of support. We hear from Harry Waters, Scott Tournet, Kaz PS, Nate Kalwicki, Austin Loman, Keith Grasso, Charlie Lentz, Ciri, Cam, and Charlie Kline, Alex Kline, Katie Stover & Erik Lenhart! (Thanks to Jay's impressive networking acumen, we also had some, somewhat enthusiastic messages from Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Dr. Hibbert & even King Charles III!)Greg kicks things off with a remembrance for Tina Turner, who passed at the age of 83 late last month. Then we hear about the latest album from Greg's latest favorite new band, Sleep Token. Take Me Out To Eden, their third album, came out in mid-May and has only Songs: Tina Turner - “Heard It Through the Grapevine”Tina Turner & Bryan Adams - “It's Only Love”Sleep Token - “Ascensionism”Jay recently emerged from the haze of his first Dead & Company concert at Jiffy Lube Live and has vague recollections to share on our latest episode of “Tales From The Concert.” Dragged along by friend of the show Kresimir, Jay braved the lone road to Bristow. Inch by inch he crawled through the concert traffic, walking a mile to and from the concert. In the end, all that remained was exhaustion and fond memories of Bob Weir's song ending. We get to hear a clip of John Mayor tearing it up and celebrate Jay's first step into his eventual conversion to the jam band genre.Song: Dead & Company - “Throwing Stones”Finally, Nick has been dying to follow up on a story from episode 167 about the Supreme Court's decision affecting creativity and fair use. To recap, Conde Nast licensed photographs of Prince from photographer Lynn Goldsmith for a Vanity Fair article in 1984. Andy Warhol used the photograph as inspiration for his Prince series and Conde Nast licensed one of those images for 2016 remembrance of the late artist & litigation ensued. In the end, the court decided that the Warhol Foundation was not within the Fair Use guidelines because it was competing directly with Goldsmith's photographs for magazine use. It feels like a very narrow decision and the implications will take years to affect future litigation, but it seems like a fair balance to the guys.Song: Cory Wong - “Flyers Direct”

Greg has been quite busy since we last left him, all of it related to the shows with Red Not Chili Peppers. Keith Grasso, owner of Island Music Company in La Plata, MD, is back to talk about the return of Rocktoberfest LP! Back in 2013, Keith was frustrated by the local school boards repeated cuts to the county's music program, so he decided to raise money by holding a concert at a bar near his store. Overwhelmed by the response, the event grew year over year and now takes over main street La Plata for an all day event. The 2019 iteration of the show raised over $46,000 for the Charles County Music & Arts Program and this year is going to be the biggest one yet! This year's event, headlined by the 80s Glam Metal band Kix, will be held in downtown La Plata on Saturday, October 1st. Online tickets are sold out, but that's only to leave plenty available at the gate. If you're anywhere near the area, come on out!Song: Kix - “Cold Blood”Episode 163 Page

We hope you agree :-) Song: Van Halen - Romeon DelightWayan Zoey has relocated to Portland since we last spoke with him. He weighs in on the future of live music, the inherent determination that musicians already possess to make a living in music and he shares some of his experiences in the past few months living in Portland.
