A show fresh off of the KF Wednesday Presser that was meant to be about recruiting and the 2nd signing that(a concept that confuses walkons who never had a first signing day) but instead was more anticipated for the questions surrounding Brian Ferentz and his job status as Offensive Coordinator. A varied topic conversation today, where Iowa Football specific discussion happens in the back 25% of the show. We bring to the table a comment from a listener on YouTube that asks 'Is this just a friendship podcast'.. and we discuss what a fan should expect when they click play on one of our episodes. We discuss the Bills game, the opening kickoff, and dive into Kickoff rules and how to make them balanced. Kevin and Kluver both brought home Championships in their hometown Fantasy Football leagues and they hash out how the canceled game factored into the matchups. The boys discuss some recent Iowa basketball results that parlays into the conversation surrounding Patrick Mccaffery taking time away to deal with mental health, including a look back at times where we ourselves felt overwhelmed with similar issues. This episode features a 25 minute introductory conversation that includes the normal WUW BS and banter. The boys reminisce on nearing a decade of knowing each other, ponder why Kluver is so easy to crap on, and more. Then the discussion turns to the osmosis of QBs in and out of Iowa, and the mindset that kids these days are taking with their career. We ask the question, are kids thinking through some of these decisions given the statistical reality of roster nuance in college football. We talk other portal grabs like Seth Anderson, Erik All, and potentially a Stanford Offensive Lineman, and what those players could mean for the Hawkeye roster moving forward. We pitch Jack Campbell on air on why he should come on our podcast, and we finish with conversation about Tory Taylor, Nico Ragaini, and Joe Evans returning for more football, and Lukas Van Ness deciding to take his shot at the NFL.If you love the show and want to show support, tell your friends! Kevin and Kluv have a deeper discussion on the importance of Bowl games as the years pass on. How do NIL and the Transfer Portal affect the rosters and motivations for teams as they cross over from regular season to the post season. Which Bowl Games matter? How do staffs build legitimate hype and motivation for a team to give a Bowl their best shot? What does expanding the playoff do to the importance of the post season and is it Net positive or negative? Is it valid to sit out games if your team makes the playoff? And we also compare how the FCS does their playoff, as well as looking at NCAA March Madness to create interesting topics of discussion. We finish with another Walkon Top 5, our cant miss segment, Christmas Movies edition.

Brad was on the show just 4 months ago in early August, and returns for an update on the SWARM Collective. With the Hawks recent pick up of Cade McNamara in the transfer portal, people are starting to realize the effect that the collective can have. Brad dives into details about Cade, how much the Swarm had made, how far they have to go to be competitive, and where they rank in the Big 10. He also discusses some of the bigger struggles they have run into like hang ups within the Athletic Department, behind the scenes logistics, and more. We also talk in general about the landscape of NIL, what the rules are if any at all, who is enforcing those rules, and what the current crazy 'free agency' landscape of the transfer portal could do to college sports.

We begin the episode as the news came across twitter that Mickey Joseph, the interim Head Coach for the Cornhuskers this season, had been arrested on charges of strangulation and domestic assault.. and you can imagine where that conversation lead us to. We talk about our Spotify wrapped, how much it would take to buy us out of the WUW, and other dumb stuff. Then we mesh the discussion into Rhule taking over at Nebraska, and Fickell taking over at Wisconsin, and the the outlook for the West with those coaches over the next few years. We also get into an exciting conversation about how many wins Kevin Ward would muster as a D1 Coach, and what is most important to that job.
Nebraska plays spoiler and leaves Hawkeye Nation licking our wounds. With everything on the line, the Hawks were down starters, turned the ball over, played sloppy, and got behind by too many points to put together the kind of day that everyone in Black and Gold was hoping for. We discuss why our Defense struggled to deal with Trey Palmer in the passing game, and the options that the Hawkeye D had to try and survive Cooper Dejean's first quarter knock out hit. We talk about the hurt and disappointment that you feel from the inside when faced with a situation like this, and we discuss the Offense's attempt at a comeback, why we couldn't pull it off, and what made O tough against a lack luster Husker D. Cap the regular season with us here on 372.
Friend of the show and now 4 time guest Jeremiah Sirles joins us to preview the Nebraska v Iowa Thanksgiving day matchup. Sirles played at Nebraska from 2009-2013 as an Offensive lineman, and eventually ascended to the NFL where he spent time with the Chargers, Vikings, Panthers, and Bills. After retiring from playing, he's ventured into the media side of the game, similar to ourselves, and has worked within the Husker Radio network the past several years as a sideline reporter and cohost of some of their in house productions. A year ago he dove into the world of being an NFL agent, signing college kids, and helping guide them into the league. We learn about all of his personal endeavors in the early part of the episode before diving into a Nebraska breakdown, state of the program, the mindset in Lincoln, and what this game Friday could look like on the field.
The Hawkeyes win streak continues as they found a way to battle and win in single digit temperatures in Minneapolis over the weekend. The trophy, Floyd of Rosedale stays in Iowa City, where it has resided for 8 straight years. The question.. how does a team give up 270 rushing yards to a single running back and win the game? How do 2 teams in frigid weather manage ZERO penalties, something that hasn't been done since 1986. How does this Defense continue to find ways of bending, and bending, and bending some more, but never breaking. We discuss it all in 370, including the Hawks improbable path back to INDY and the B1G Championship game which is 1 game away from their grasp. Join us for some fun.
One heck of an episode that crosses back and forth between a whole host of topics. We start the episode with bowl projections discussion and some comedic banter. We talk Josey Jewell, this current Iowa Defense, and where they match up. We drop important information on our latest Merch drop happening Friday morning the 18th, as well as how to get our exclusive designs through Patreon membership. We take a quick look back at Wisconsin's 3-4 D concept and answer 'why does that give teams fits', and then we look ahead to Minnesota. A new Walkon Top 5 deep into the episode and cap it all off with Ward's Winners for the weekend.

The Hawks make it 3 in a row. The Boys breakdown the game against the Badgers from this weekend and Iowa Football's improbably return to relevance in the West Division race to Indianapolis. We discuss the real possibility of seeing the Black and Gold back in Lucas Oil Stadium, why the Hawks have been able to put together 3 in a row, the reasons why Iowa saw a return of struggle at the O-line position, how crazy this Defense and Sp Teams continues to be, and a whole lot more. Discussion about Cooper Dejean doing everything for the Hawks and who we think he reminds us of, the single play break down that allowed Wisconsin back in the game before half, turnovers being a major factor as always, and how the Hawks were able to find success when they needed it late to kill clock and ice the game. We also recap the Tool box game where the managers brought home the rusty toolbox in a dominating 37-6 victory, and getting to meet and greet with listeners and fans of the show.
We talk politics.. in a fun way.. and come up with a revolutionary qualification process for elected government officials. We discuss the Tool Box game that the managers will be playing on Friday night.. join Kevin and Tyler at 6:45 before the game starts at 7:30. We take a look at some of the key features of this weekends matchup against the Badgers and what statistics may make the biggest difference. We have Ward's Winners, and a whole lot more.
AS everyone expected(joke) Iowa came away from West Lafayette with a dominating win over the weekend which has drastically shifted the perspective of many following this team. Petras says 'Y'all had us dead", Brady Ross fires shots at Chris Hassel, The Hawks are still alive to play in Indianapolis for the 2nd straight year and more. How important is it to look at the defensive rankings of the teams on the front of Iowa's year? How much has this O line improved in the last 2 weeks? Has Brian been getting more aggressive and calling new plays? Lots to discuss in this episode, including conversation about Charlie Jones, and what we would buy if we won the Lottery.
We opened this episode with 20 minutes of sillyness, catching up, making jokes, our best advice for a successful podcast.. kind of, and telling stories of times we got stitches. Other topics in this podcast include the 2023 football schedule for Iowa, Hockenson trade to the Vikings, the first CFP rankings of the year, Charlie Jones discussion, the keys to beating Purdue, Ward's Winners.. and much much more.

The Hawks found life, and put out their best offensive performance of the year in a 33-13 victory of the Wildcats. How much of this weekend's success was due to progress from the O vs the Northwestern team being bad at football? How much has this Offense truly struggled because of the lack of time to throw the ball? Will this momentum keep building this week vs Purdue? Many new questions to ponder as the Hawks go to 4-4. We recap the weekend bets, and an all new Walkon Top 5, Halloween Candy.
A lengthy episode that dives deeper than we anticipated. The episode starts light with 15 minutes of casual catching up, an opportunity to win 250 bucks by signing up for Pikkit using code: WALKON, and some weight lifting talk.. Then we get into the meat of this weeks drama. We talk about KF's now viral quote about a reporter from Cleveland and his article, what we thought of the the comments, and some deeper discussion about KF. We discuss the fan base, the negative bubble around Iowa, who the team belongs too, and being patient for change. We talk about the possibility of NIL changing the sentiment amongst fans towards players, and a whole lot more. Plus we do our Ward's Winners and finish with some QB thoughts.

The guys discuss the 54-10 loss from the weekend. Thoughts on how well the Defense actually played despite the OSU score being so high. Discussion about Padilla being brought in at half, if we think he got a fair shot, and how that position battle should be handled moving forward. Thoughts on the some outside ideas about the locker room being split, and players having bad blood with each other. What we saw with the special teams that was unlike the standard Iowa usually produces, and why Tory Taylor took off on that punt. And some discussion to finish the episode on the state of the fanbase, being careful what we wish for on the outside, and trying to see all perspectives. We of course recap our betting picks of the weekend as well.
Take a journey with the boys, all 3 of them, as they take you back to November of 2017, and walk through the entirety of the day the Hawks shocked the world. Memories, thoughts, highlights and more on a drive by drive basis from that game. What was the turning point? When was it obvious that OSU had quit? An amazing weekend of college football is in the books, one that the Iowa Hawkeyes did not participate in. The boys recap their picks from last episode after hearing about Kevin's weekend away at a Fall wedding. They discuss the big game of the weekend where Alabama fell to Tennessee on a last second field goal that was actually a total shank. Then a conversation about the Big Ten West ensues where the league is completely flipped on its head from just 6 years ago. Purdue holds off Nebby to stay tied for the lead in the division with the Fighting Illini. We talk about what the back half of the season could look like for the Hawks starting with this week against Ohio St, and a whole more.
The Bye week is here and should provide a little relief from both Hawkeye players and fans. A weekend for everyone to kick back enjoy football for a day without having to stress over the Black and Gold. Everyone except for Kevin, who will be attending his 2nd Fall Wedding of the year. On this episode we discuss Caitlin Clark's new NIL deal, Serial Killers, Crazy Patreon subscribers, Jake Gervase getting his number called in a big way, an all new Walkon Top 5, and Ward's Winners of the Week.
The boys recap an extremely frustrating loss for the Hawkeyes over the weekend as Iowa falls 9-6 to the Fighting Illini. We discuss our leading thoughts on the game, the Defense, the Special Teams, and of course the Offense. We share insight into how we are processing the lack of production on the field, and what the Bye week might look like practice wise for the Hawks. The mindset moving forward, the difficulties of being former players and having to call a spade a spade, and more. There's a Krispy Kreme story, a beautiful cover of 69 points, and Kevin in a plain white Tee.
In this episode we talk about what comes to mind when we think Illinois football, memories from our games against the Illini, thoughts about their stadium and locker room and what Bielema has done so far in Champaign. Then we discuss in further detail the firing of Paul Chryst, the precedent this sets for other coaches and athletic departments across the country, which job is better? Nebraska vs Wisconsin, and who we think has the best chance in the West. We give our short opinions on how Iowa wins the game this weekend, and make our weekly picks in the Ward's Winners segment.

We sat down to record this episode just 30 mins after the news that Wisconsin Head Football coach Paul Chryst was being relieved of his duties. So we start the episode with a brief discussion on that news. We dive into breaking down the Iowa game, talk about how Spencer Petras had his best personal outing to date, how the Defense could have helped themselves out a little more, the difference in performance around the line of scrimmage on Saturday, and how Iowa even in defeat took a step forward as a team. We also discuss how the Big Ten West is completely up for grabs this year and how Iowa could still make a run.
This is a very Washed Up Walkons episode.. unfiltered, off subject, entertaining but not safe for work. We do an absolutely abysmal job at actually previewing the football game. But.. if you like to laugh then this could be for you. We touch on topics like how we prepared for Michigan in 2016, what it will take for this years team to pull off a similar upset, and why Kinnick is so special when it comes to big matchups. Most of the episode is about our top 5 breads, making fun of Brady Ross, coming up with ways to exploit the current players on the team, a new only fans account, and talking Ward's Winners for the week. We warned you.
Week 5 of the in season LIVE show. The show happens 4pm to 5pm every Tuesday during the season and you can catch us on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Call In with questions or other topics as we discuss the hottest conversations of the week!
The Hawkeyes took care of business in Piscataway on Saturday earning their way to Victory 27-10. While the Defense posted their 4th straight solid performance, highlighted by 2 trips to the endzone off of turnovers, it was the Offense who may have injected some more hope into Hawkeye faithful. We go back through our Wards Winners from week 4, and discuss the lopsided Minnesota vs Michigan St game. We recap the win, our initial thoughts on what we saw improve from the Hawks and what still needs work, and discuss Iowa's outlook in the Big Ten West. We talk O-line development through 4 games, receivers limited role in the game this weekend, Cooper Dejean being an All American in waiting, and answer the question, "Has Riley Moss fallen off?".
We dive into the Hawkeyes first Away game of the season and what the keys for an Iowa victory will be this weekend in Piscataway, NJ. We also finish up discussing what we learned, if anything, from the 7 hour Nevada game. Why is SP more comfortable with Nico on the field, and will Iowa continue to take shots in the passing game to help open up their entire Offense. We recap the bets from last week and debut the Week 4 edition of Wards Winners complete with the DRF Boost of the week!
A late night game, turns into an early morning recap. Iowa's Offense and Defense did as expected, controlling the field and blanking the Nevada Wolfpack for a their first shutout of the season. Iowa's Offense looked to be better, in multiple areas, but the question now is was the reason because Iowa actually figured some things out? Or was this a product of playing one of the worst teams in the country? Why did the playbook get bigger? Did Nico and Keagan really make a big difference? Who are the top 5-6 guys that the O-line should have out there, and will these improvements carry forward to the Rutgers game this week, and further into Big Ten play.
While this is the Nevada Preview, the only football talk you will hear is in the last 20 mins of the episode. We talk coaches getting trolled on Cameo, A potential Walkon meetup the night before the Wisconsin game, Drake opting for less work and more compensation, Our views on being more critical of the program the further out we get, Brett Favre doing illegal shady stuff to help his daughter, How well received the Top 5 segment has gone, Why Iowa should have their best week, and finish with Ward's Winners.

Its Cy-Hawk week. The in-state rivalry is renewed once more and Iowa State could be going into this game as confident as they have since their last win in 2014. The Hawks look to find their footing on Offense while the D and Special Teams will continue to carry the squad. We discuss what we would do if we were in charge of the team, where our focus would lie, and what is most important heading into Saturday. We also speculate on why the O line is in such a dire spot, and if coaching could have something to do with that. We drop a brand new 'Walkon Top 5' and Ward's Winners returns!
The Hawks kicked off their season inside Kinnick this past weekend with a very lackluster 7-3 victory over the jackrabbits. Sadly, an entire off season of waiting and hoping that the Hawkeye offense would be better looks to be a lost cause. Issues are still there, and potentially worse, spanning almost every offensive position group, and the problems are being exacerbated by a not fully healthy roster. Spencer Petras, one of the hot topic items for the last 3 years, appears to be much of the same, isn't getting help, and is leaving fans wanting basically anything else. We do get to discuss some good things like the almost perfect Iowa Defense, one of the best Punters in the nation, and more. Come along for our full game breakdown.
Brandon is from Larchwood, Iowa and played high school football for the West Lyon Wildcats. After walking on for the University of Iowa, Brandon quickly ascended special teams depth charts and became a vital component of the special teams in our 2015 undefeated regular season. He would eventually be named starting Safety in 2016 and start all 13 games that season, collecting 85 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles. After tearing his ACL in the Spring of 2017, he made an almost magical return to the field in under 6 months, in a game that many will remember his Pick-6 against Illinois. Unfortunately the knee was already reinjured at that point in the game, something that we dive into during our conversation, and his season would end. He transferred to SDSU for his final season of eligibility and finished his career with the Jackrabbits. We talk the upcoming matchup, the styles that each team play, and memories from his playing days.
