Get ready for the most unbelievable survival story you've ever heard. Hosts Kaycee McIntosh and Julie Henningsen deliver a jaw-dropping tale that sounds like Hollywood fiction but is 100% real—and it happened at 400 mph, 17,000 feet above ground. Picture this: June 10th, 1990. British Airways Flight 5390. Thirteen minutes after takeoff, the cockpit windscreen explosively blows out, and Captain Tim Lancaster gets literally sucked halfway out of the aircraft. For 22 agonizing minutes, he's pinned against the fuselage—outside a commercial airliner—while his crew desperately holds onto his legs and fights to land the plane. This isn't just a survival story—it's a masterclass in: Split-second decision making under impossible pressure How tiny maintenance errors can cascade into life-or-death emergencies The extraordinary power of human resilience and teamwork What happens to the human body at extreme altitude (spoiler: it's not pretty) Why aviation safety procedures exist—and what happens when they fail Kaycee and Julie break down this incredible true story minute-by-minute, from the catastrophic windscreen failure to the heroic actions of First Officer Alistair Atkinson and flight attendant Nigel Ogden. The party reconvenes outside Mr. Edge's home, diving into an unusually intense level of planning. Split into two groups—Team Stealth (Shanks, Arguile, Salix) and Team Dragon (Galahad, Zechs, The Turk, Glad)—they prepare for a high-stakes infiltration, with Greyleaf and familiars keeping watch above. Initial observations suggest someone may have beaten them to the punch, prompting a cautious regroup. Arguile and Shanks are sent in for closer reconnaissance. After deciding to implement a version of the "Silent Knight" plan—having Galahad lead while invisible—they prepare to strike. A well-timed Prestidigitation from The Turk sets the stage for the ambush. The first werecreature is dispatched in a brutal display, with Arguile delivering the killing blow to the second. As chaos erupts, Glad casts Bless, Zechs unleashes a barrage of arrows, and the team fights against a growing number of lycanthropic enemies. Shanks and Galahad even fight side by side before Shanks pins a foe, allowing Arguile to finish it off. More enemies pour in from above, forcing the team to abandon stealth entirely. Galahad uses his Conquering Presence to frighten most attackers, while Glad's Magic Missile and Zechs' Jack of All Trades provide ranged support. Outside, Duo informs Zechs that a curious crowd of Tabaxi is forming, adding to the public attention an already chaotic scene.Despite several close calls, everyone bitten resists the curse—until Arguile fails his save and flees the house in a panic, already succumbing to lycanthropy. Zechs orders Duo to follow him, while the rest of the team clears the upper floors. Glad and Zechs take down the remaining enemies with coordinated attacks, and Salix confirms the area is secure. A Detect Magic spell reveals their target is above, and after some searching, they find Mr. Edge holding a Necklace of Fireballs. The item explodes, taking out Edge but sparing the party. Treasuries? Corporates? REITs? Commodities? Energy pipeline investments? • Avoid Paying Roth Conversion Taxes from a Roth? Does it reduce long-term value to use Roth funds to pay taxes on a conversion? Is it okay to spread conversions over several years? • What Is Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA)? DCA can help reduce timing risk by investing consistently over time. Is it beneficial for large cash amounts and emotional ease? • Investing a Lump Sum? What About a 50/50 Split? Should you consider investing half up front and dollar cost averaging the rest over several months for balanced risk and reward? • Effective Withdrawal Strategy in Retirement Is it more strategic to pull from bonds/cash rather than stocks in down markets? • Should You Use Target Date Funds? One Scene, Two Realities How Crash Experts Could Split The Karen Read Jury A single scene. One victim. But two completely different interpretations of what happened. That's the challenge now facing jurors in the Karen Read trial, as dueling accident reconstruction experts present radically different theories of how John O'Keefe died — and what Karen Read's vehicle had to do with it. In this episode, we dive deep into the war of the experts. The prosecution argues that Read reversed into O'Keefe with her Lexus SUV, leaving him fatally injured in a blizzard. But the defense has countered with their own specialists — experts who suggest the injuries are inconsistent with a vehicular strike, and that the blood patterns don't match up with a hit-and-run scenario. So how does a jury make sense of it? Attorney Eric Faddis helps us understand what jurors are actually allowed to weigh when expert opinions directly contradict each other — and how bias, credentials, courtroom delivery, and even juror fatigue can come into play. We also explore the consequences of this forensic standoff. Could the confusion actually benefit Read's defense? And does “reasonable doubt” thrive in environments like this — where even seasoned professionals can't agree on the physics? The outcome of this case may hinge on a jury's gut instinct in choosing which expert they trust more. And that decision could mean the difference between a guilty verdict and an acquittal. De-escalating High-Conflict Divorce: A Rabbi's Perspective on Finding PeaceRabbi Avi Kahan joins Seth Nelson and Pete Wright to explore how de-escalation techniques and cultural sensitivity can help families reach sustainable resolutions during divorce. As a mediator handling complex religious and cultural divorce cases, Rabbi Kahan brings unique insights into managing high-conflict situations and helping couples transition from being spouses to successful co-parents.The conversation delves deep into how fear and conflict often mask deeper emotional struggles during divorce. Seth and Pete explore with Rabbi Kahan how the legal system's focus on "fairness" can sometimes escalate tensions, while religious and cultural perspectives might offer alternative paths to resolution. They discuss how divorce doesn't actually separate parents—it unifies them in a new way as co-parents, requiring them to articulate a new future together for their children's sake.Questions we answer in this episode:How can you de-escalate high-conflict divorce situations? What role does "fairness" really play in divorce proceedings? How can religious perspectives help in understanding divorce as transformation rather than failure?Key Takeaways:Focus on living your life, not your divorce—don't let temporary legal proceedings define your actionsDe-escalation often requires helping both parties want the divorce, not just need itCourt litigation can force parents to suppress their authentic selves, potentially harming childrenThe episode offers valuable insights for anyone navigating a contentious divorce, especially those dealing with cultural or religious complexities. Rabbi Kahan's perspective on viewing divorce as a unifying rather than separating force provides a fresh framework for approaching this challenging life transition. Links & NotesVisit Rabbi Avi Kahan on the web, Instagram, LinkedIn, or YouTubeSchedule a consult with SethGot a question you want to ask on the show?
