Aparte, suenan Fred again.., Skepta, PlaqueBoyMax con "Victory Lap", Rambalaya, Gerilla Toss, The Hives y Nourished by Time. Programledare: Martin WicklinProducent: Filip BohmKontakt: sondagsintervjun@sr.se

We're switching things up this episode. Instead of our usual stories about women in history, we're pausing to bring awareness to Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (aka chronic hives). Nicole is opening up about her deeply personal ongoing health journey that's basically become her personality over the last 10 months. Hives can be triggered by a wide range of issues, which makes them an incredibly frustrating and mysterious condition. They're often a symptom of something deeper happening in the body. In Nicole's case, the hives took over her entire body—not the tiny, bug-bite-style ones, but massive, intensely itchy welts from head to toe. She's tried nearly everything: parasite treatments, supplements, antibiotics, Xolair, prednisone, and even a grueling cleanse. While she's experienced moments of relief, the hives keep coming back and they like to switch it up every time. If you've ever felt isolated in your health struggles, been dismissed by doctors, or left without answers, this episode is for you. Nicole's not a doctor and isn't offering medical advice, just an honest account of her experience, in hopes of finding answers or supporting someone else on a similar path. In this sweet episode of Fabulously Delicious, we're diving deep into the golden world of French honey, or miel. From the floral fields of Provence to the rugged chestnut forests of Corsica and even the rooftops of Paris, French honey tells a story of terroir, tradition, and taste. We'll explore the most beloved regional varieties of French honey, like miel de lavande, miel de sapin, miel de châtaignier, and miel d'acacia, uncovering the unique flavors and landscapes behind each jar. You'll learn what makes French honey so highly prized, how strict labeling and AOP protections ensure quality, and why beekeeping in France is as much about heritage as it is about honey. But honey in France isn't just for toast or tea. We'll also talk about how it's used in classic French cuisine, from savory glazes on duck and pork to traditional dishes like pain d'épices and vinaigrettes that balance sweet and sharp. Plus, we'll share how French people enjoy honey daily—from local markets to Michelin-starred menus. So pour yourself a cup of herbal tea, drizzle a little honey on a warm baguette, and join us as we celebrate the sticky, golden nectar that's been sweetening French life for centuries. Sometimes it's helpful to hear a specific story about a specific symptom to feel secure that this work will help you. I have been hearing a lot about hives and anxiety lately, and a good friend had a transformative experience that led me to share not only her story today, but mine as well. Although many chronic symptoms come from the same place - a dysregulated nervous system - hearing about how certain conditions clear up can be the inspiration you need to dedicate yourself consistently and passionately to the work. This one got a bit more intense than I expected, but you know me - here for it all. Excited to hear how this lands for you. With all my love, xoxo n. The Strokes… Music’s coolest ‘The’ Band of the early 21st century. Along with Sweden’s The Hives, Australia’s The Vines, and Detroit’s The White Stripes - The Strokes almost certainly had no intention of getting looped into the phenomenon of wispy haired indie rock bands that all seemed to break out between the summers of 2001 and 2002; because - if we’re being honest - they didn’t exactly have what you might call an indie origin story. Formed in New York City in as early as 1997 by Frontman Julian Casablancas, Guitarist Nick Valensi and Drummer Fabrizio Moretti at the illustrious Dwight Private School (which lists Truman Capote and Paris Hilton as Alumni) the trio would quickly recruit friend Nikolai Fraiture to play bass with them, as well as Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. in ‘98. Hammond Jr. had just relocated to New York from Los Angeles by way of Switzerland, where he was childhood friends with Julian Casablancas - at - you guessed it - an even more illustrious Private Boarding School. Within less than 3 years, The Strokes would completely re-define what it would mean to be a trendy modern rock band - and they did it mostly on the back of this hit single; This is the story of The Strokes Last Nite, with newly unearthed audio from the band!

Ever wonder how culture and language barriers affect diagnosing chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in Latinx patients? In this episode, allergist Dr. Juanita Mora joins Kortney and Dr. Gupta to discuss chronic spontaneous urticaria (hives) and the unique challenges faced by the Latinx community. They highlight the importance of cultural competency in health care and the barriers that Latinx patients often encounter, such as language differences and access to specialists. They also discuss how Latinx patients are often not given all treatment options for hives, such as biologics. Dr. Mora emphasizes the importance of having resources available in Spanish and encourages patients and families to advocate for their care. They explore practical tips on how technology, family support, and proper patient education can help overcome barriers, leading to better diagnosis, treatment, and improved quality of life for Hispanic patients managing CSU. What we cover in our episode about chronic hives in the Latinx community: Diagnosing hives in skin of color: How CSU symptoms can present differently on darker skin tones, making accurate diagnosis harder. Overcoming barriers for Latinx patients: The specific hurdles the Latinx community faces like language barriers, limited access to Spanish-speaking allergists, and challenges obtaining advanced treatments such as biologics. Role of family and community support: How involving family members and community leaders can improve CSU awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage patients to seek timely medical treatment. Importance of Spanish-language patient education: Why accessible, culturally relevant education and resources in Spanish are essential for empowering Latinx patients to manage their CSU effectively. Cultural beliefs and CSU diagnosis: How cultural perceptions around health and family influence the timing of diagnosis and willingness to seek medical care. What if one of punk rock's most essential records wasn't born in London or New York—but in a repressive corner of 1970s Australia? In this episode, we dive into I'm Stranded, the ferocious, lo-fi debut from Brisbane's own The Saints—a band that burned bright before punk even knew what it was supposed to sound like.Recorded in just two days with cranked amps, no overdubs, and a heavy dose of youth rebellion, I'm Stranded delivers raw power with surprising musical depth. The Saints weren't copying anyone—they couldn't. Isolated from punk's UK and US scenes, they built something unique: a mix of garage rock swing, proto-punk energy, and rock 'n' roll heart that would go on to influence everyone from Kurt Cobain to Mark Lanegan. This episode unpacks the album's explosive origins, its unexpected impact overseas, and how the band's refusal to conform—musically or stylistically—helped set a new standard for underground music. We also explore its enduring influence on punk, garage, grunge, and beyond. If you dig bands like The Stooges, The Damned, Radio Birdman, Nirvana, or The Hives, you'll want to hear this one.

Aussie band Kingswood are rock royalty, having played shows with AC/DC and The Hives, tearing down the rooves of Aussie venues in equal measure with their unique brand of raucous rock. In 2024, the band undertook a record-setting road trip across Australia with the Hometowns Tour, the longest ever music tour, encompassing 112 shows over six months, with everywhere from the outer regions of Western Australia to the sticky floors of Sydney getting a taste of their guitar licks and long hair. Knowing what a historical moment this would be for the band, Kingswood tapped emerging director Darcy Newton on the shoulder to shoot social media footage and share their journey on the road. That notion quickly fell by the wayside when Darcy realised there was something more at play here, with his trusty camera able to capture the highs and the lows of the bands journey, ultimately bringing forth the feature documentary CLAPTRAP.In the following interview, recorded ahead of the films roll out in Australian cinemas which kicks off with a premiere event at The Astor Theatre Melbourne on Friday 4 April, and culminates with a Q&A screening at The Ritz Sydney on Friday 11 April, Darcy and producer Luca Catalano talk about how they came on board to shoot the film, what life was like on the bus with the band, and how Darcy captured some of CLAPTRAP's more impactful moments, like a late night boozy chat with a regional music icon or a deep and meaningful chat between bandmates about the meaning of one of their songs.CLAPTRAP AUSTRALIAN SCREENINGS** KINGSWOOD attending Friday 4 April Astor Theatre Melbourne **PREMIERE EVENTTicketsSaturday 5 April Thornbury Picture House Melbourne **SCREENING, Q&A EVENTTicketsSunday 6 April Pivotonian Cinema GeelongSCREENING, Q&A EVENT Wednesday 9 April Regal Theatre Adelaide SA SCREENINGWednesday 9 April Byron Bay Palace Byron Bay NSW **SCREENING, Q&A EVENT Thursday 10 April New Farm Cinema Brisbane ** SCREENING, Q&A EVENT TicketsFriday 11 April The Ritz Sydney **SCREENING, Q&A EVENT Hosted on Acast. Today, I am thrilled to speak with Dr. Cory Jones to delve into the concept of the "middle pause," which refers to the transition from perimenopause to menopause. We'll examine how lifestyle habits that were effective in women's 20s and 30s may lose their efficacy during this phase. Dr. Jones emphasizes the reduced capacity to "burn the candle at both ends" and the transition from people-pleasing to more straightforward communication. We'll cover the behavioral impacts of hormonal changes, the significance of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and the importance of adrenal health. We both stress the need for women to seek supportive healthcare providers and embrace this transitional period. Tune in! The company was founded in 2015 with the goal of delivering curated smoking essentials directly to consumers. Hemper collaborates with artists and influencers to create innovative, limited-edition designs that appeal to both casual and experienced smokers. The brand has grown significantly, becoming a go-to source for affordable and stylish smoking accessories. The story of how Bryan essentially graduated from college on the East Coast while simultaneously building the dream team to scale Hemper is one that you truly can't miss. You'll also hear about Thai's background working with Hypebeast and Karmaloop on countless creative endeavors from creative design to music videos and more before Karmaloop's imminent demise and bankruptcy around the time Diddy got involved.A name of interest that comes up in this pod is Rama Mayo, an entrepreneur and visionary known for his significant contributions to the herb and music industries. He co-founded Hall of Flowers, a premier herb trade show, and Green Street, an herb brand agency. Before his ventures with the plant, Mayo spent 15 years in the music industry, working with renowned artists such as Jimmy Eat World, The Hives, and At the Drive-In, and co-founded the record label Big Wheel Recreation. Bryan divulges crazy stories surrounding their time at Green Street and running with Rama, meeting essentially every key player in the LA scene pre-2020. One of the biggest topics of conversation in this episode is easily product manufacturing and merchandising. Thai and Bryan weigh in on a number of topics surrounding deciding which glass pieces and accessories to mass produce in the thousands to tens of thousands, doing all their CAD design in-house, which ideas are even worth pursuing, and what goes into developing a full product line for an MSO. The true gem of this pod is when Bryan and Thai talk about their cone side business that's driven them to set up shop in India. Getting in during a cone shortage around 2017-18, they were able to rapidly scale their factories overseas to now own and operate over a dozen. Bryan will divulge exactly how they were able to meet crazy demand in the millions and presently produce around 30-40% of the world's pre-roll cones.Any aspiring entrepreneur who loves the plant should sit down for this inspirational episode about how you can build massive empires in this industry without ever having to grow, trim, or cure anything.Subscribe to our channel and the FSOTD.com site to keep up with other key players and enjoy conversations with trailblazers from the culture you can't find anywhere else.
