In this heartfelt episode of Wise_N_Nerdy, Joe is joined by the delightful Scott Moore and Rilo W. Ward for another fun-filled and thought-provoking discussion. The episode kicks off with the standard Question of the Week: "What scene hits you hard no matter how many times you've watched it?" The hosts dive into some of the most emotional moments in film and television, discussing scenes such as Mufasa's tragic death in The Lion King, deeply touching moments from Doctor Who, and the tear-jerking sequence in The Tales of Ba Sing Se where Iroh sings Leaves From The Vine. Audience members also call in to share their own unforgettable cinematic moments that always bring the waterworks. With a roll of the dice, the show takes a hilarious turn with a litany of Bad Dad Jokes contributed by both hosts and audience members. The laughter sets the stage for the next segment, "What Are You Nerding Out About?" Scott channels his inner Kurt, expressing his love for Balatro and Slay The Spire, while Rilo eloquently praises Baldur's Gate 3. Joe, on the other hand, adores the unique and engaging story unfolding in The Apothecary Diaries.Next up, the dice lead the hosts into the "How Do I...?" segment, where they discuss how to craft a compelling backstory for an RPG character. This conversation is filled with practical advice on how to create immersive and dynamic characters that enhance the role-playing experience. The fates then bring forth the "Daddy, Tell Me A Story" segment, where the hosts nostalgically reminisce about the nerdy collectibles that got away—those rare treasures they regret not snagging when they had the chance or those that they let slip through their fingers. Finally, the episode wraps up with the "Parliament of Papas" segment, tackling the age-old debate: when does collecting cross the line into hoarding? The hosts explore the fine balance between a passionate collection and an overwhelming accumulation of stuff. No matter what you geek out about, there's a place for you here. Sally shares her reflective writing on the journey of forgiveness in the Ignite Insight episode! Hi there, I'm Sally Henry. I am wife to Kim, mother of Sarah and Sean and grandmother of three crazy boys: Rilo, Rocco and Vito. I also have two sisters who sandwich me and I love dearly. I am a writer, pastor, musician and listener. As an Enneagram 9, I love having people in our home, cooking for friends and family, having meaningful conversations and doing work that makes a difference. I am an ordained Presbyterian minister, but currently work as a behavioral health care coordinator working with families who have children coming out of mental health crises. Kim and I host a house church every other week in our home, I've taken up lap swimming to be active and work out stress and therapy to keep chipping away at all those things that keep me from being truly whole. I turned 60 in 2023, and it was my best birthday yet. I don't do “churchy talk” and I'm usually 5-7 years behind the latest trends (be they clothing, social media or catchy phrases). I believe in transparency and sharing our stories because that's how we learn from each other and grow as individuals, and I've been sharing my sh$% for a long time now. Oh, and I try to sometimes filter for the sake of others (that's the Enneagram 9 in me), but sometimes a good f-bomb is what's appropriate. Sorry not sorry. Najprv tri roky, potom podmienka. Zdroj zvukov: CNN Prima News, Česká televize, Trima News, TV Nova Odporúčanie: Ak by ste sa o téme chceli dozvedieť viac, odporúčam knihu jednej z popredných odborníčok v problematike sexuálneho zneužívania detí Slávky Karkoškovej s názvom Obete sexuálneho zneužívania detí medzi nami.

Kerin “KB” Berger (she/her) is a physician assistant (PA) practicing in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Quinnipiac University PA program in 2015 with a master's in health sciences. She works full-time at the LA LGBT Center in the sexual health and education department. Additionally, she performs high resolution anoscopy for anal cancer prevention. Kerin is an adjunct professor at Charles Drew University (CDU) PA program where she implemented the LGBTQI and nonbinary curriculum. Kerin travels around the U.S. speaking to medical professionals, students, mental health clinicians, community members and advocates. She lives in West Hollywood with her wife, Jordan and her dog, Rilo. She loves to cycle, travel, and drink old fashions. Episode Highlights KB explains what a Physician Assistant (PA) is and how it's different from a doctor or a nurse. She shares how she got interested in medicine by being interested in science. KB talks about her podcast “Queer Meducation” and her inspiration to start it to bridge the medical and queer communities. She felt like her medical education didn't prepare her to work her best with the sexual health of queer folks. Later on she was invited to come give a presentation on queer health to medical professionals, and this gave her insight to the level of ignorance and inspired her to do more. She shares ideas about how queer folks can find queer and friendly medical practitioners. (GLMA) KB shares tells us what kinds of health issues queer folks might be overlooking and encourages us to pay a bit more attention to.
