Hoy el mundo de la lucha libre profesional mexicana se viste de luto porque ha fallecido Lourdes Grobet gran fotógrafa qran fotógrafa especialista en el mundo Luchístico QEPD
Lourdes Grobet is an artist, who established her career within photography in the 1960s. Being from Mexico, her love for lucha libre began at an early age, like so many others. She quickly brought her artistic medium into the squared circle, and began documenting luchador's and luchadora's live's inside and outside the ring. Grobet's photography offers an insight into their mundane, day-to-day lives, yet still expresses an air of romance and awe.Quick note from Alexa*When referring to El Santo and Blue Demon's relationship, I said they were tag team partners, but I goofed and had meant to say they were rivals.
Lourdes Grobet is a Mexico City based photographer known best for her work with Lucha Libre wrestlers including El Santo and Blue Demon. Starting her career in photography as a conceptual artist in the late 1960s, she eventually became the first prominent female photographer in Lucha Libre for most of her career. Grobet works in large series projects which also include a 35 year project with the Teatro Campesino e Indígena, a contemporary theater group that interprets the indigenous traditions of pre-hispanic Mexico. The Artist Series is made possible by the audience that supports the show. Thank you!!! Photography is a better world with you. Music from Epidemic Sound: https://goo.gl/v5wWKr
Tomorrow is the release of S2E3 of the Artist Series with features Lourdes Grobet. Lourdes is a brilliant photographer known best for her work with Lucha Libre which was a photography project she worked on for 30 years. She worked closely photographing famous luchadores such as El Santo and Blue Demon over her career. I want to provide some context of her photography as a lead in to her Artist Series film. Co-presented with Ambulante CaliforniaTwo filmmakers share and discuss excerpts from their new documentaries that illuminate indigenous stories rarely seen on film. Bering: Balance and Resistance, by Lourdes Grobet—one of Mexico’s most renowned photographers—lyrically reflects on an Inuit community’s search for new values while struggling to reconcile the past. In Indian 101, filmmaker Julianna Brannum focuses on lessons taught by her great aunt LaDonna Harris, the Comanche activist who helped negotiate the return of sacred ground to the Taos Pueblo Indians. Far apart geographically, these two communities are irrevocably linked as they navigate their contemporary history. Both films will screen in Los Angeles in their entirety as part of the first edition of Ambulante California's Documentary Film Festival. *Click here to see photos from the program!
