"Mostly Peaceful" Protests After the Supreme Court Leak

Chelsea and I talk about the aftermath of the Supreme Court leak of the draft of the ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson case that court overturn Roe v. Wade. Senate Democrats tried to ram through a radical abortion law that lost 49-51. Churches experienced raucous protests on Mother's Day. The Wisconsin Family Action office was vandalized and received terrifying voice messages. Supreme Court justices endured unlawful protests at their residential homes. Abortion advocates testified before Congress and refused to answer obviously necessary questions about what abortion does. We must stand for the truth boldly in this present evil age. Involving people with lived experience in the journey to greater mental health treatment and support helps us to build understanding, reduce stigma and discrimination, and improve the quality, relevance, and mental health research. This week's guest Tash Anderson is a passionate advocate for children and young people who have experienced family violence and who have been through the out-of-home care system. Tash was the Inaugural Youth and Young Person representative on the Victim Survivors' Advisory Council (VSAC) in Victoria for three and half years. She is currently the co-chair of Victoria's first Child Protection Ministerial Youth Advisory Group (MYAG) and a member of the Roadmap Implementation Ministerial Advisory Group (RIMAG). Tash is also a Lived Experience Consultant with Berry Street's Y-Change initiative and studying a Bachelor of Animation at Deakin University. Perhaps Tash's most well know piece of advocacy is ‘TASH'– a short film that she wrote, illustrated, directed, and narrated sharing her personal experience of family violence, living in out-of-home care and how it affected her. The film has been shown at film festivals in Sydney and San Francisco and nominated for awards at CinefestOZ and Sydney Film Festival. Tash is committed to telling her story about growing up in out-of-home care and working to understand the impacts of family violence so that the voices of children and young people are reflected in family violence reform. Stay tuned as Tash shares her story with us.

Mother's Day - Pro-Choice  Why are these abortion lovers only going to Catholic churches?  HEADLINE: 'I'm killing the babies!' Swimsuit-wearing pro-choice protester called Crackhead Barney screams and dangles doll as she and others target NYC Catholic churches after leaked document suggested Supreme Court will end Roe v Wade by Natasha Anderson  Why didn't we see anything like this in the South? Why did all these protests only happen in super liberal states? It was however extremely uplifting to see men protecting their churches w/ rosaries in hand.

THIS WEEK: Regular "hosts" Joel and Kyle are joined by Natasha Anderson (@tashymctashason) for the first "watch-a-long" episode of Season 3. Listen in as they watch the Champions League Quarter Final between Manchester United and Barcelona and cover all the topics nobody else will: is it Scandi-Manc or Mancdinavia? Which mate on a night out is Paul Scholes? And who on earth is Mike Smalling? Absolue Worldie takes a lighthearted, mostly irreverant and occasionally informative look at the beautiful game. This Week's Worldie (something happening in the world of football right now) and a Classic Worldie (a story from the past, both recent and distant, about the madness that is world football). Often featuring special guests, always featuring lively debate, "chat-bots" and stupidity, the Absolute Worldie Football Podcast is a must-listen for all the family (at least we think so).
