Introduction“A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.” — Irina Dunn, 1970I heard about the movement of decentering men on TikTok. With zero expectations, I decided to try it out for a month. It was October 2025. I was sick of dating apps and about to publish my second book. I'd been single for three years, but this was something different. I'm here to tell you everything about it and share all the reasons why I'm never going back.I wrote this article to give us, women, a blueprint for how to be the main character in our own lives. Our mothers and grandmothers couldn't teach us this; they depended on men (financially) to survive, and had to center them accordingly. This article is not about hating men; it's about unlearning the ways that the patriarchy has trained us to prioritize making men happy. This pressure comes just as much from the women in our lives (aunties, influencers, our mother), as from men. After all, it was my mother who let my brother get away with never doing the dishes after dinner.Starting this process for the first time scared me. I was worried that if I stopped trying to date men, I was giving up on my dream of becoming a mother. Yet as I began to decenter men, I realized that my idea of motherhood was purely a fantasy. Facing the reality of motherhood, those statistics scared me much more. In this article, I will cover everything I've learned from the internet, economists, and my own experience, so that you can decide whether decentering men and trying it for a month to start is right for you. Let's begin!

Retirement can feel like a problem for later, and honestly, we get it. Most of us are focused on getting through the present. Rising living costs, housing pressures, building careers, and trying to get ahead can make long-term planning feel out of reach. But understanding the numbers earlier gives you more choice and flexibility down the track. In this episode, Tash and Ana break down what retirement might actually cost. They look at how retirement can play out differently for homeowners compared to lifelong renters, which is a reality many people in our generation may face. They also unpack how the recommended retirement savings figures stack up depending on the kind of lifestyle you want.Whether you are aiming for a modest, comfortable, or more flexible retirement, this episode helps you understand what those goals really mean in dollar terms and what it could take to get there.*Note: The ASFA retirement standards were updated on the day this episode went live. Tash Anderson: Loving God, Loving Others by St Swithin's Walcot
Most leaders can recite their values. But when deadlines tighten and money is on the line, those “values” often turn into nice-sounding slogans. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, hosted by Yusuf, we sit with the uncomfortable gap between intention and behavior—and what it actually takes to close it. Yusuf is joined by Harrison Tash, author of Exit Without Leaving and founder of Living Water Consulting, to explore how values can become real decision-making filters. This conversation is for founders, leaders, and anyone feeling the quiet pressure to compromise—who wants a clearer, steadier way to choose what matters when the pressure is real. About the Guest: Harrison Tash is the author and illustrator of Exit Without Leaving and the founder of Living Water Consulting. He supports entrepreneurs and business leaders in scaling sustainably without burning themselves—or their teams—out. Episode Chapter: 00:06:13 – When pressure hits, where do values go? 00:07:48 – Why leaders drift toward “shiny things” 00:10:15 – Values as wall art vs. values as lived behavior 00:14:02 – The money trap: when wealth becomes the hidden driver 00:17:25 – Overcommitment, overhead, and the cost of misalignment 00:20:25 – A practical start: the “everything burns down” exercise 00:24:27 – Values as a yes/no checkpoint for daily decisions Key Takeaways: Write your values down—clarity starts when it's visible, not assumed. Use values as a filter, not branding: “Will this compromise what I care about?” Watch “shiny thing” decisions (money, status, speed) that quietly pull you off-course. Audit overcommitment: inflated lifestyle or overhead creates pressure to betray values. Treat values as evolving language across seasons, while keeping core principles steady. After major decisions, ask: “Which value actually guided this?” How to Connect With the Guest: Website: ConsultLivingWater.com LinkedIn: Harrison Tash Book: Exit Without Leaving (Amazon; Barnes & Noble online) Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? Send a textThis Talk Sex With Annette topic takes the show back to its roots when it was just a girl's sex talk podcast. For too long, women's most honest conversations about sex have happened in whispers — in group chats, locker rooms, and over wine when no one's listening. But what happens when we stop whispering? In this episode, I sit down with writer and pleasure activist Tash Doherty, the bold voice behind Miseducated, to talk about what women really say about sex when you're not in the room — and why it changes everything when we take the mic.We dive into:• The orgasm gap and why it still exists • Pegging, anal equality, and rewriting the sexual script • Why women fake orgasms (and why it hurts everyone) • How speaking openly about sex transforms relationships • What men need to understand about female pleasureThis isn't just about women talking about desire. It's about rewriting the rules of sex — for everyone. If you've ever wondered what women really think about sex… this episode is your invitation to find out.Check out Tash's Intimacy Journal Here: https://www.tashdoherty.com/shopFind her on Substack: https://misseducated.substack.com/

When is the right time to join finances with your partner? How soon should you talk about money? And do you even need to combine finances at all?Well… it depends. In this episode, Tash is joined by Larissa to chat about how she manages her finances with her partner, and the conversations, money mindset, and shared goals behind it all. Together, they break down the different ways they each structure their finances with their partner and talk through when it might make sense to fully combine finances, keep things completely separate, or choose something in between. They also explore why fairness matters, emotional safety, and why having honest money conversations early on is so important. From being aligned on goals and money mindset to choosing a setup that actually feels comfortable for you, this episode is all about finding an approach that fits, whether that is separate accounts, shared expenses, or going all in together.@life.with.larissa@tashinvests@anakresina@getrichslowclub@pearlerhqGet Rich Slow ClubPearlerYouTubeHow To Not Work ForeverDisclaimerAny advice is general and does not consider your financial situation needs, or objectives, so consider whether it's appropriate for you. In this episode of Moms Talk Autism, Tash and Shannon chat with Brenda Kennedy and Amanda Harpell-Franz from Canine Companions about the incredible impact of service dogs on families. Brenda shares how these dogs are trained and matched with their handlers, while Amanda opens up about her son Evan's life-changing bond with his dog, Calvin. Together, they explore how service dogs reduce anxiety, build confidence, and strengthen family connections—along with the harder moments, like saying goodbye when it's time to retire a beloved companion. Natasha Cloud is a powerhouse. The New York Liberty point guard seems to have it all: a successful W.N.B.A. career, fierce confidence and a loving relationship with her girlfriend and teammate, Isabelle Harrison. On and off the court, Cloud radiates self-assurance and seems to know exactly who she is, but that sense of self was hard-won.In a conversation with “Modern Love” podcast host Anna Martin, Cloud talked about growing up as the only mixed-race child in a white family, and how one conversation with her mother shifted everything she thought she knew about herself. She discussed finding her identity in college, her family's love and acceptance for the “new Tash,” and why professional pressure led her to publicly identify as bisexual even though she knew the label didn't feel right.Listener call out: The Modern Love team wants to know how differences over money are straining your relationship.
