From the beginning even while they're in their 50s and 60s, our kids call us because they need us in a different way.A lot of things get miss handled misunderstood and not given the priority. It needs to because a lot of people can't see things from my mom's point of view. This season I want to focus on parenting and coparenting and being a wife, or girlfriend to people who can't always see it from my mom's point of view. Being in this adulting life trying to maneuver through work, careers and traveling and wanting to be entrepreneurs, people who do not have kids cannot understand why you do what you do and how you do it from my mom's point of view.This season was created to build understanding and consideration for how Mom's show up in this world. Good manners start at home with parents, aunts, uncles siblings and grandparents.As parents, we sometimes forget that we are our children's first teachers, and if we want them to be better people in the world when we are not around we have to set the foundation in the standard at home. There is no reason why your child doesn't understand how to speak to adults or authority, there is no reason why your child does not know what to wear to an interview and when meeting other parents, your child's verbiage must change.It's a respect level, is a standard and there should be integrity and everything that they do. And if you want a better human being, leaving your house every day you have to help them become who you would like them to be. And this is what this episode is about. There are too many kids in middle school in high school who cannot read and understand what they are reading. We have to help children with the basics and we have to be honest about how our children are struggling academically at home first.Once your child gets in a classroom and that teacher has to let you know that they are struggling academically. Your child is way too far behind. On a daily basis, you should be having your child.Read something to you pronounce words with you and you should be asking the questions what was that story about. If you are cooking, they should be reading and ingredients to you. If you need to go grocery shopping, you need to allow your children to make you a grocery list. If you need to get something out of a closet that is a product with words on it you need to be able to verbally describe it and have that child find it. Is going to help their recognition of letters and colors. Who our kids are when we aren't around are on us.Teaching your kids start at home.Reforming the American education system is an urgent necessity to prioritize our children's future. Bookmark these sites.• Tell your Kids to never open or send emails to a stranger.• Tell your Kids never to meet someone face-to-face after only meeting online.• Tell your Kids not to share anything that could hurt or embarrass others.• Tell your Kids to think before posting pictures.Who will see them? Tell your teen that pictures can never be removed.• No sharing passwords with friends.• Tell your kids not to answer or forward cyberbullying.• Make it clear what will happen if your kids does not follow the rules.Cyberbullying is when a bully uses things like these to bully:• Cell phones• Cell phone cameras• Computer tablets• Social media sites• Chat rooms• Text messaging• Online game roomsThe bully posts messages, photos, or other things about a teen that hurt, insult, and are mean.Cyberbullying can happen anytime. It's hard to get away from this kind of bully. If we want kids that are self starters, we have to give them the space to start themselves. We cannot be in a household, where we wash all their clothes, clean their bathroom all the time, and wash the dishes all the time or go in their rooms to clean it up. Kids become better adults when they grow up with structure and rules in a standard. As parents, before a child can lead outside of the home, we have to create spaces for them to be leaders in the Home. And that's what today's episode is about. If the kids can't read, what will they do in life? If the kids can't read, where would they go? If the kids can read, how would they be able to explain things that are happening to them or the things that they want? If the kids can't read how far will their imaginations go? If the kids cannot read how high will their confidence get? There is no reason why as parents we have a household full of objects, things and directions in our children cannot read, there's no reason why a child can make it to middle school and still cannot read. There is no reason why there are graduating high school kids who will go into the workforce behind on reading. It's summer, but we still have to prepare these kids from the next school year. It's summer but we know we have to work but these kids also want something fun to do.
