On Wednesday October 28, in the first part of the show Judy talked about the Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus who was a martyr, and is the patron saint of hopeless or desperate causes. In the second part of the show, Judy talked with Terrie Lipscomb about the Holy souls in Purgatory, and the importance of praying for them. They had a great discussion about their shared love and devotion to praying for the souls in purgatory. Terrie talked about St. Bridget, who was told by Jesus that when we free a soul, He is freed Himself, and He will reward us who are praying for the faithful in due time when we need those prayers as if we had helped him. On Wednesday October 9, host Gene Wilhelm spoke with Steve Weidenkopf, Lecturer in Church History at the Christendom College Graduate School of Theology in Alexandria, Virginia,  about the battle of Lepanto and his book, The Glory of the Crusades. The battle of Lepanto was a naval engagement that took place on October 7, 1571 when a fleet of the Holy League arranged by Pope Pius V, defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire in the Gulf of Patras. The battle of Lepanto is responsible for giving us the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary, originally called the Feast of Our Lady of Victory for the victory at Lepanto. On Wednesday October 2, host Deacon Mike Beauvais spoke with Rebekah Landry, middle school minister for Ablaze Ministries at St. Anthony’s in Bryan. In the first part of the show, Dcn. Mike talked about the Feast Day of St. Jerome, who was commissioned by Pope Damasus to translate the scriptures into the vernacular of the time, Latin. He spent 30 years in a cave translating all the scriptures! In the second half of the show Dcn. Mike spoke with Rebekah Landry about her experience with Ablaze Ministries and the path that brought her there. Rebekah has a strong love for the Church, the Lord, and the kids that she ministers to. On Wednesday October 15th, 1947 at 6:30PM over ABC's New York City flagship station WJZ (today WABC), New York Tonight signed on with emcee Allen Prescott. Prescott was born in St. Louis in 1904. By the post-war years he was an ABC panel host and radio commentator. This evening program featured news, his personal reflections, and music. It mentions Bing Crosby's Wednesday evening Philco Radio Time program and the new Lana Turner/Van Heflin film Green Dolphin Street which opened that day. This recording only features the first half of the show. It's one of the only surviving of the series.

We discussed the ways in which social and digital media — which have given rise to content marketing — offer a host of options to speechwriters to draw attention to the speech before, during, and after its delivery. Shel reviewed the rapid development of the many forms of social media available for speechwriters to use, from humble beginnings as blogs and chat rooms to the rich variety of streaming media solutions available today. On Wednesday October 7, 2015, Yang Feng Glan, a 66-year-old Chinese restaurant owner in Dar es Salaam station and vice-president and secretary-general of the Tanzania China-Africa business council, appeared in a Tanzanian court to be charged with smuggling ivory between 2000 and 2014. Media reports have dubbed her the "Ivory Queen" and the Elephant Action League, an American NGO, described her as “the most important ivory trafficker ever arrested in the country.” Host Winslow Robertson and new cohost Lina Benabdallah are joined by Hongxiang Huang, owner and manager of the China-Africa social enterprise China House and expert on China-Africa ivory smuggling issues, to look closer at this story.
