El precioso disco a guitarra sola de Ross Hammond, Follow Your Heart (Autoedición, 2017) abre la edición 244 del 8 de marzo de 2017 del podcast HDO. Toda la información de HDO en http://www.tomajazz.com/web/?cat=13298. Variedad en la entrega número 96 de HDO con siete propuestas en las que predominan los guitarristas. El disco de la semana en HDO es CountCounterPoint del trío formado por el guitarrista Harvey Valdes, la violinista Sana Nagano y el baterista Joe Hertenstein. Una mezcla intensa de jazz, rock, metal de la que escuchamos dos temas. Charles Lloyd & The Marvels sirve para que el veterano saxofonista vuelva a rodearse de unos músicos de primer nivel como Bill Frisell, Eric Harland o Reuben Rogers para versionar el tema de Bob Dylan “Masters of War”. El guitarrista Jon Lundbom & Big Five Chord tiene prevista la edición de varios EP a lo largo del año 2016. Jon Lundbom, Jon Irabagon, Balto!, Moppa Elliott, Dan Monahgan dan muestra de la forma de entender el jazz de la factoría Hot Cup Records en “Wrapped”. El guitarrista Pierre Perchaud, el contrabajista Nicolas Moreaux, y el baterista Jorge Rossy plantean una propuesta elegante en FOX, obra de la que suena “Paloma”. El David Regueiro Swingtett realiza en Bird Lives! una magnífica fusión de BeBop y jazz Manouche en temas como “Segment”. Clasicismo el de los Rich Halley 4, una formación que ha publicado seis CD en los últimos cuatro años. De su última grabación Eleven. Finalmente, cambio de tercio con el jazz de corte electrónico del trío GoGo Penguin. “Smarra” puede ser un magnífico punto de enganche con el jazz de público joven no acostumbrado a escuchar jazz.
