However, the outcome of the election may drive returns at the sector level. In this episode of Your Active Wealth, Alicia Levine, head of investment strategy and equities, and Kevin Shea and Matt Keeler, senior equity analysts, identify four key policy themes that equity sectors will contend with and analyze the implications of the candidates' proposals if they are adopted. For additional insights on the subjects that matter most to you, visit bny.com/wealth. Follow us on: Twitter | LinkedIn | Instagram

Dave Buddin is a serial composer you should know. To quote Brad Cohan, "David Earl Buddin is a beer-swillin' chain-smoking', gloriously prolific pioneer of electronic music". He spent close to 15 years as roommates with Tim, Simon and Dominika Michalowska in Brooklyn. Dave was much more than a pal who helped pay the rent. He was the thought leader of the house who was always suggesting books, artists and projects that broadened horizons, and more importantly, made every day a huge amount of fun. He named the house(s) The Center of Advanced Research which still lives on as a wifi hotspot. In 2012, The Village Voice named Dave New York's best composer. His other musical pursuits include being the ringleader of (quoting Cohan again) "the honky tonkin' trio of high rolling drunkards, American Liberty League". He along with Dominika and Kevin Shea founded the noise trio Nebadon. He also worked a day job as the musical director for Park Slope's Grace United Methodist Church.  Dave founded and was the real editor in chief of the Modern Man Manual. Currently Dave resides in Hilton Head South Carolina where he his working on his extremely entertaining memoirs and writing music. To hear retirees Margaret and Kevin Shea tell the story, two things have totally transformed their lives: City Life and EBikes.  The first change happened when this former software engineer and his wife decided to follow their two adult sons into the actual City of Atlanta (from the suburbs where they'd spent 30 years of their lives).  Discovering an exciting new world of close knit neighborhoods and neighborhood shops (like the new Ebike store that opened just down the block). Determined to "try it all", they took one for a spin. And that's when things really took off.  "Fun was our only reason for buying one," admits Kevin, "but it soon turned out to be the best investment we ever made."  "It added some spice to our lives (and our 40 year marriage)," smiles Margaret. "Taking us places we never knew existed". Like the 22 mile Beltline around Atlanta which they discovered right at their doorstep. A multi-use trail on a former railway corridor which goes around the core of Atlanta, this Beltline project was designed to reconnect neighborhoods and communities with restaurants, coffee shops, and places of interest (like the nearby Atlanta Zoo and parks). All at a slower "people pace". A perfect pathway for their new eBikes that took them in so many new directions, connecting them with their community (and kids) more. And bringing them better health and sleep as well as they rode more frequently(and further) on their new electric bikes. Several recurring themes we hear often on this show. For as Margaret herself if prone to proclaim to anyone and everyone she meets, "to say that owning a Pedego is life changing is not an understatement. We lost weight, improved our sleep (and our marriage).  Made new friends and found a new direction in life.  Who would have thought that two simple electric bikes could add so much to our lives?" Just two aging, ever evolving baby boomers, experiencing the ride of their life. On this week's Pedego Podcast.

Retired FDNY Lieutenant Kevin Shea was involved in one of the most daring roof rope rescues in FDNY history. On May 14, 1991, FDNY firefighters conducted two technical roof rope rescues at the same fire in Midtown Manhattan, hanging 12 stories above the crowded New York City streets. The dramatic rescue was filmed live and later recreated for television. The save was one of the rescues featured in the FDNY Pro film, the Last Resort. Shea also responded to and was injured at the first World Trade Center Bombing in 1993. In this episode of the FDNY Pro Podcast, Shea recounts these iconic events from his old quarters--Rescue Co. 1 in Manhattan. Captain John Ceriello hosts.

"Centralia" Mostly Other People Do The Killing: Disasters Vol.1 (Hot Cup Records, 2021) Moppa Elliott, Ron Stabinsky, Kevin Shea.
