In a life full of uncertainty, God has made things known.
Reality only cares about what you do. That turns out to be not only what you think is true but is also really important. So, it’s the details of being married or parenting or building a career that trips us up. Why? Someone is messing with us. The devil is in the detail of life. That’s where he meddles...
For you to move love from true to real in your life, you must learn to, accept people, serve people, forgive people, and befriend people. This is what Jesus did and this what Real Christians do as well as we love those around us.
How can you tell who is a real Christian? In this sermon we will focus on three main ways according to 1 John 2
Walking in darkness vs walking in light could not be more different. But we tend to think sin isn’t a big deal. This sermon will look at the effects of sin in our lives and how darkness clouds our judgement and thwarts our progress. But all is not lost. Through Christ we can walk in the light and escape the darkness through confession and accountability.

Love Week John talks a great deal about love that has been perfected. This type of love is an action done for someone else with no expectation of response, which is measured by its impact through eternity. Over the last three weeks we have considered various aspects of this love, and now we will consider how we can be a community saturated by this type of love.

Hope Fellowship Church Sep 8 – 14, 2019 ========== Rembember Part 2: Remembering Who We Are Communion today. New Series starts next Sunday! ========== 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 John 2:28-29 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him. How can people of flesh and blood be children of an eternal being who is Spirit? 1 John 3:1-3 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. 1. We have confidence in who we are. Ephesians 1:17-19 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. 2. We have responsibility in who we are. 1 John 3:11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 3. We have community in who we are.

Anyone who wants to know God—to walk closely with God—must ___ God. This week's O word is not a positive word these days. But how many of us have stopped to think that our avoidance of this O word may be keeping us from one of the great keys to the enjoyment of God and the transformation of our lives?
There is no greater love than what we have received from Jesus, who laid down his life for us on the cross. If we want to experience God and be a part of his kingdom, it starts with following his example in how we love each other. Join us and learn about a perfect definition of love and what it looks like to live it out daily.

Too many believers are trying to wander through this life with a “just me and Jesus” mindset. Yes, Jesus is our primary need, and we must have intimacy with Him, but we also need intimacy with one another. Our relationships with our fellow Christians provide discipleship, accountability, and joy. In today’s message, Pastor David stresses the importance of culturing honest, intimate fellowship with other Christians. We need to make time, and be purposeful about the time we spend together.
Our fellow Christians are more than just friendly, smiling face that we see on Sunday morning. We are all humans with struggles and needs. We need Christ and we need each other. It may be as simple as helping each other move, or with some yard work, or maybe just having an honest conversation over coffee, but as Pastor David encourages us in today’s message, if we are willing to pour ourselves into those relationships, we will find that Christ pours more of His joy and love into our lives.
It’s scary to open up and be vulnerable with people. We often feel like our struggles are unique and if they are exposed, we will be seen as weak. Largely because of this fear, the Church has moved away from having true intimate fellowship, and instead has settled for surface level relationships that consist of little more than shaking a few hands on Sunday morning. As Pastor David challenges us in today’s message, it’s time to get real with each other and engage in meaningful fellowship.
God is teaching Abram some important lessons in the chapters we will study today. As Abram leaves his pagan religion, his family, and his land, God slowly reveals His will, His faithfulness, and His promises. As we walk with Abram on this journey, we can learn so much ourselves of how God interacts with us. He is constantly seeking to take us out of our comfort zone, out of our reliance on the things of this world. He is constantly working on us, shaping and molding us into the image He has planned for us to be.

John closes his letter with a powerful summary of what we can know so that we can live in confidence and boldness.
Why does the world call to us? Why is it so difficult to ignore its call? John knows our struggle and gives us some great thoughts on what specifically the world uses to hook us and on what we can do to reject its pull.
