The ocean is changing. Surfers are the first in line to notice that as we spent most of our time enjoying its magnificent waves. Us surfers should also be the first ones to take action in healing it so that the next generation gets to enjoy it, too. In this episode, we have the CEO and Founder of Reefer Wax, Marissa Gochar, tell us her journey of being an entrepreneur, her mission of choosing regenerative products, and trying to make products that will undo some of the damage due to climate change. She shares how they make their hemp-based wax and how it can help put essential minerals needed by corals and shellfish back into the ocean. This episode is filled with lessons that both entrepreneurs and consumers need to hear. About Reefer Wax: Reefer Wax is a hemp-based surf wax company with a mission to regenerate our lost coral reef population. They utilize byproducts from industrial hemp production once thought to be unusable waste, revolutionizing the surf wax industry with simple and traceable organic ingredients. Their wax puts essential minerals back into our oceans to reverse coral bleaching and degeneration. As an aspiring B Corp, they are building a responsible, sustainable company alongside other forward-thinking companies and research institutions while prioritizing a thriving eco-system for future generations over profit margins and gain. In just a short couple of years, Climax Surf Wax Founder Tessa Abram has gone from being a skydiver instructor - yes, you read that right - to starting her own company in arguably surfing's most saturated niche. In this episode we discuss how Tessa came to start a surf wax company, some of her product development wins (and painful, if hilarious lessons), marketing, branding and social media, expansion and more. I certainly enjoyed the conversation, and I hope you do too. Our guest this morning is Hogan Peters, Founder/Creator of YEW Surf Wax. Hogan was born and raised in Westchester County, right outside New York City. He grew up playing ice hockey and surfed whenever he had the chance, mostly on Long Island. Hogan transferred to LMU in the winter of 2018 from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York, which allowed him to surf every day, sometimes three sessions a day. He currently lives in Manhattan Beach and is thrilled and honored to be part of such a great community. Hogan created YEW surf wax, which is made from bee's wax – it's environmentally friendly and totally rad! He opened a pop-up shop in North Manhattan Beach in October and plans to be in that location for at least another year. He loves the beach and ocean and believes in making it more beautiful than how he found it. His motto is “Do it clean”. This morning, we're going to learn how a land-locked college student moved to the west coast and became an environmental steward. =+=+=+=+=+=+ To Find Out More about the two show hosts of The South Bay Show read on: Jackie Balestra features a comprehensive selection of things to do, places to go and people to know in the South Bay.to learn more visit http://www.SouthbayByJackie.com To Find Out More about Joe Terry visit https://www.MasternodeConsulting.com/about What's Happening in the South Bay, South Bay, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, The South Bay Show, Los Angeles, California, Current Events Calendar, Torrance, El Segundo, Palos Verdes

Interested in buying surf wax for your new surfboard? Here are a few things to look at that may help you choose the right one. In the past, Sex Wax was the clear leader for board wax in the surfing industry as well as other water related sports. Today, however, Sex Wax has fallen behind the competition from Sticky Bumps Surf Wax for many surfers. Sticky Bumps is the largest manufacturer of surf wax in the world, and their new lineup of different kinds of surf wax is really putting pressure on Sex Wax and other wax brands. In fact, it’s tough to compare the Sticky Bumps wax side-by-side and not be amazed by how much more advanced their surf wax is than the Sex Wax. Still, some people love the brand name Sex Wax, or want to save some money and will end up choosing something like the Mrs. Palmers, which is still very capable surf wax.   Get your wax and learn more of our Top 3 surf wax at https://surftrainingfactory.com/recommended-gear/surf-wax/

Well folks, in the immortal words of someone who kinda knows the lyrics to "Sgt. Pepper" - it was 25 years ago today! Fun discussions and CONTROVERSIAL opinions abound in this 3+ hour breakdown of one of the best albums...ever.
