20 Jumpgate Missions to Mars & Corroborating NASA Images of Martian Life

Andrew Basiago, J.D., claims that he visited Mars 20 times between 1981 and 1984 through a Jumpgate located in El Segundo, California. He says others, including VIPs such as former CIA Director Admiral Stansfeld Turner, were also sent to the Martian surface through eight jumpgate portals dispersed around the middle latitudes. Basiago says the average daily temperature was around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and the air was similar in oxygen content to an altitude of 11,000 feet on Earth. Basiago claims that at any one time there were up to 1,500 Americans on Mars surface that were there to maintain a continuous presence, and they had to escape numerous predators. His experiences with Mars predators and other wildlife led to him recognizing some of these animals and vegetation in NASA Rover images. In Basiago's first paper about Mars dated December 12, 2008, he examines NASA image PIA 10214 and claims a number of creatures are in it which he recognized from his trips there, which include plesiosaurs and water buffalo. His most controversial claims concern unusual creatures he says can be identified in other Mars Rover and satellite imagery, which includes a scorpion man and gremlins. Basiago refutes criticism that what he witnessed in the Mars images is merely a case of paredolia, especially when it comes to an alleged image of a striding gremlin in what appears to be a small grove of trees. In the subsequent discussion, Dr. Michael Salla proposes a distinction between objects Basiago recognized from his time on Mars, which can be asserted to be corroborating evidence for his overall experiences, to other objects such as gremlins, which may be attributed as paredolia. Regardless of the more controversial elements of Andrew Basiago's analyses of Mars Rover and satellite images, his detailed memories of travel to Mars on 20 occasions where he spent significant periods on the Red Planet from 1981 to 1984 have been independently corroborated by several other individuals. These include Brett Stillings, William White Crow and Bernard Mendez who all have publicly confirmed their participation in the Mars Jumpgate program, and the involvement of others such as Barack Obama (aka Barry Soetaro) and Major Ed Dames. Anthony Davis Sets Goal to Be Available for All 82 Games, Reveals Wrist Injury Last Season

Monday at Media Day, LeBron James noted that his biggest problem over the last few seasons has been availability. Once an iron man, James is now a much larger injury risk. Still not larger than Anthony Davis, though, who has struggled to stay in the lineup throughout his career. Wednesday in El Segundo, the Lakers forward said his goal this year is to be healthy enough to play in all 82 games. That doesn't mean the Lakers won't rest him, but it means his body won't be the reason he misses games. So nobody thinks 82 is a reasonable number for most players, let alone Davis. But is 70 a fair expectation? 65? What's the threshold past which the number is too high for anyone to have faith it'll come true? Meanwhile, speaking of injuries, Davis revealed Wednesday that last year he was struggling with a wrist problem that he says hurt his follow through. Did it hurt his numbers? Not necessarily. In fact, not that the 3-point shooting was good at any point, but it actually seemed to improve a little after January, when Davis said he hurt it. (Of course, he barely played in the second half, so there's that.) So is the moral of the story that fans should be comforted that his poor-by-his-standards work was the result potentially of another injury? That we should all be concerned because there was another injury? That in the end, he's just not a good 3-point shooter and everybody needs to stop trying to make that happen? Yes? Finally, the Lakers have their own drama around Russell Westbrook and it gets a lot of attention, because he's a huge name and the Lakers are the Lakers. But look around the league - Brooklyn, Boston, Phoenix... these are all teams with title hopes and serious, serious issues. The situation with DeAndre Ayton and the Suns, for example, is way more consequential to the season than any tension with Russ and the Lakers. LA, it should be noted, might benefit from lower expectations this year. Yes, if they lose it'll be news, but only the half-hearted variety because nobody really expects excellence from this group. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Anthony Davis says his wrist was a problem last season. How should we feel about that? SEGMENT 2: Davis wants to be available for all 82. Maybe we set the bar at 70? SEGMENT 3: Other teams have real problems, too, Lakers fans. Always good to remember. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Why the Lakers Signed Dennis Schröder, and Patrick Beverley's Reported Defensive Role

The Lakers made weekend news signing free agent guard Dennis Schröder to a one-year deal, bringing him back for a second run in El Segundo. Through the weekend, more reporting emerged explaining why the Lakers thought it was a good idea reunite with the mercurial German. There was a good performance at Eurobasket, which is some pretty high end competition. And that he went to play there without the security of an NBA deal in hand. (A cynic would note that added need for him to go play, in order to get one.) There was lobbying from Schröder to return, and some strong statements about righting unfinished business on his Instagram page that demonstrates a desire to contribute to the purple and gold. And, of course, some practical understanding that more depth could come in handy, given lingering question marks around Kendrick Nunn's health and a fairly well-established injury history with Patrick Beverley (he's missed a ton of games over the last few seasons). Plus LeBron James, and natural worries about his body at age 39. But how exactly do the Lakers plan on getting all these guys on the floor? Well, they're gonna have to go small, first of all. And it might also mean using Beverley in creative ways, as a 3-and-D guy often assigned to be the team's primary wing defender. Now, a lot of work is being done defining "wing," here. Can't imagine the Lakers spend a lot of time letting Beverley spend games running with, say, Jayson Tatum. But what about bigger 2-guards? Do they plan on using Austin Reaves more as a 3? What about Lonnie Walker IV? Bottom line, while the Lakers can claim they'll play all six members of the backcourt, practically speaking it's nearly impossible, if any of Thomas Bryant, Damian Jones, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Troy Brown ever get to take off their warmups. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Why did the Lakers bring Schröder back? SEGMENT 2: How much does Schröder's Eurobasket success really matter? Is Pat Bev as primary wing defender a sustainable strategy? SEGMENT 3: How exactly can the Lakers play all six of their guards? Step one, go real small. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The NBA Comes Down - Kinda - on Suns Owner Robert Sarver. LeBron Says More Punishment Needed.

It's not been a good week for the NBA. While we inch closer to training camps and the start of all the fun stuff, the league announced it would be suspending Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver for a year and fining him $10 million for ... well, a tremendous amount of racism and misogyny that permeated the organization for years. An independent review confirmed the core of what ESPN's Baxter Holmes revealed in a report last year, and put the league in a postion where it had to act. Still, the consensus is that Sarver got off easy, and when Silver spoke to the media about it Wednesday, he seemed to confirm that different rules exist for owners vs. players, when it comes to conduct. Certainly Lakers star LeBron James seemed ticked, Tweeting his disapproval. As did Chris Paul. Others will surely follow. But Silver inelegantly noted the League's hands are tied, insofar as it comes to removing Sarver from his team. They can suspend him, and could have suspended him longer. But removing him as owner? That's a taller order, full of courtrooms and legal jousting. So is this a situation more like the Clippers, when Donald Sterling was suspended for life, and eventually squeezed to sell the team? Is it more like the investigation that revealed deep problems in the culture of the Dallas Mavericks? Something in between? What does the league think is going to happen next? And finally, how do fans react when ownership does things they're ashamed of (or should be), while the team is quite good? For a long time, the Suns under Sarver were seen as bad not just because Sarver's personality has always been suspect, but because he was seen as cheap. Even when Phoenix was winning, Sarver wouldn't spend to sustain it. How much honor would fans trade for a shot at winning? What are they willing to overlook? Why, for all of their problems, does this sort of thing (thankfully) not seem to have happened in El Segundo, even while other issues persist? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The NBA punishes Robert Sarver. LeBron James responds. SEGMENT 2: Did the NBA let Sarver off easy? If so, why? SEGMENT 3: How much are fans willing to compartmentalize if it means a winning team? Why doesn't this sort of thing happen with the Lakers? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Russell Westbrook was in the building. That's the headline from Tuesday in El Segundo, when newly acquired guard Patrick Beverley was introduced to the local media. He gave Pat Bev a towel (Beverley was finishing a workout when he started answering questions) and the two bro-hugged awkwardly when it was done. But he was there, and Westbrook has been around a lot through the summer. Is he doing the right stuff because he's reached a place of understanding? A spot of zen where he truly understands what's required for him to play in the way Darvin Ham will demand? Out of spite to pay back those who have criticized and written him off? The former would be better, but at least as it pertains to Westbrook, the latter might work for a while, too. Ham talked about the way those two could be on the court together, too. There's no reason Beverley and Westbrook can't work as a backcourt... if they play defense. Which means, "if Russ plays defense," because at the least we know Beverley will be working hard on that side of the floor. So what's the threshold Westbrook has to hit in order to get the kind of playing time he wants, and believes he deserves? That'll be one of the great early season questions, assuming Russ opens the season on the roster. What about their on-court fit? Beverley is optimistic. Does he have cause? Finally, Beverley showed his signature edge and confidence in a few different spots over the course of his answers to media questions. A couple clips even ginned up some chatter on social media... but was anything he said out of bounds? Was it the right kind of hard-nosed attitude, or signs of trouble to come? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers introduce Patrick Beverley, and Russell Westbrook is the big story. SEGMENT 2: How will Beverley and Russ work together on and off the floor? LeBron James Signs a Two-Year Contract Extension, and the Lakers Have a Schedule!

Wednesday was a busy one for Lakers news. Big enough that the NBA's schedule drop wasn't even close to the top news of the day coming out of El Segundo. Instead, it's LeBron James! He and the Lakers have agreed to a two-year contract extension (with a player option for the 2024-25 season) that will keep him with the team for at least two more seasons. This puts to bed in relatively short order any potential for the future of James and the Lakers to become a storyline through this season, and gives both sides a little bit of certainty going forward. So why did LeBron agree to stay? Is he confident the Lakers front office is moving things in a positive direction? Does it mean a trade for Russell Westbrook is soon to follow? Does he just like it in Los Angeles, and doesn't want to uproot and/or leave his family for a couple seasons, before potentially doing the same again in a couple seasons if the chance to play with his son presents itself? Unfortunately for Lakers fans, this one doesn't really move the needle on an impending deal all that much. But LeBron knows they're trying, and that their hands are somewhat tied by the realities of Brooklyn's trade situation (when it comes to Kyrie Irving, at least) where there won't be a resolution until Kevin Durant is dealt. But at the least, the Lakers won't feel like they need to do anything dumb or panicky just to satisfy James. Meanwhile, what does the schedule reveal? Well, for starters, it's really hard at the top. Tons of games against the Western Conference, most against teams expected to be in the playoff mix. Is that a good thing for a team that needs to get off to a good start? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: LeBron signs an extension. Did the terms surprise you? SEGMENT 2: What does the extension mean for the Lakers going forward? Does it give them enough clarity to make sound decisions? SEGMENT 3: Does the news mean a trade is coming? And how about that schedule? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!

Darvin Ham is bringing a much different energy to El Segundo this season, and anyone who wants a good understanding of what it means should read the Q/A done by ESPN's Marc Spears. In it, Ham talks about his upbringing, the grind required to make the league, and then to stay there. And then to put himself on the path to being an NBA head coach, which required a long stint in the G-League. He talks about Russell Westbrook, and his expectations for him this season, which include starting (which will, surely, disappoint Lakers fans hoping to see Westbrook come off the bench). Ham talked about Anthony Davis as the key to making the Lakers go, and that the team will support him in every way possible to make it happen. And he talked about the experience he had working with Milwaukee head coach Mike Budenholzer, calling the work he does the gold standard around the league. Put it all together, and his conversation with Spears can only leave a strong impression for fans and players about the man himself. It's far too early to know if Darvin Ham the coach will succeed in Los Angeles, but it's pretty clear that Darvin Ham the human being is about as solid as they come. In that sense, the Lakers have done well. And for a team that has a lot of Ham-esque players on the roster - guys who for one reason or another have found themselves in the discard pile - Ham seems like a perfect guy to help maximize their potential. He certainly is invested not just in the stars, but the role players as well. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Darvin Ham says Russell Westbrook will start. What that says about Ham's approach to Westbrook, and why it's a smart play at this point. SEGMENT 2: Why Anthony Davis is the key to this year's Lakers. The Lakers have been chasing center Thomas Bryant throughout the free agency period, and late Tuesday finally landed their man. The former Laker draftee, who only turns 25 at the end of the month, returns on a one-year deal that should provide a major opportunity to re-establish his value around the NBA. While the Lakers moved quickly when free agency opened, signing four players out of the gate, a very solid argument can be made that Bryant will be the most impactful. Before hurting his knee in Washington, Bryant was evolving into one of the better young offensive centers in the game, scoring efficiently and stretching the floor with a reliable 3-point shot (over 40%). The Lakers, desperate for floor spacing, may need to find Bryant a role if for no other reason than he's their best shooter, on paper. He is this year's Malik Monk - a player with some skill on a minimum contract trying to parlay opportunity into security. It worked for Monk, who got two years and 19 mil from Sacramento. If it works for Bryant, that's good news for the Lakers because it means he played well. What about Lonnie Walker IV? He talked Wednesday in El Segundo about defense. A lot. About defending multiple positions, and using his athleticism. He talked about shooting, and making teams pay for leaving him open. Walker sounds sincere, and has plenty of incentive to make all of it happen, but to this point in his career he hasn't, which is why Walker was available for the Lakers to sign. Can he evolve in L.A.? Finally, Juan Toscano-Anderson spoke to the media, reflecting on his excitement to be in Los Angeles (he was, like many, a big Kobe guy) and play for a team with the history of the Lakers, after experiencing a championship with Golden State. JTA, who is going to be massively popular in L.A., talked a lot about culture and what goes into making positive contributions on that front. It's something the Lakers need. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers sign Thomas Bryant, continuing the trend of skewing young in free agency. Is he the best player they've picked up? SEGMENT 2: Can Lonnie Walker IV live up to some of the potential that made him a high draft pick? What's been missing? Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has made no secret throughout his career of his admiration, even idolization, of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. It's a topic that has come up a lot during the playoffs, and Boston's run to the Finals, given gestures like Tatum wearing a "24" wristband in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It's put some Lakers fans in a weird position, one where they're actually pulling for a Celtic, and even the Celtics, in the Finals against Golden State. Is that against the rules? What are the rules, anyway? The Lakers are already on to the business of building out next season's roster. It's a given they'll have a lot of slots to fill via free agency, and not a lot money to do it. So journeymen like Langston Galloway, Kyle Guy, Alize Johnson, and D.J. Wilson —all of whom were in El Segundo this week—represent the kind of player to which the Lakers will have access. Finding the right combination of limited players that can be put in the best position to succeed while also fitting in with the team's stars (if necessary) won't be easy. But that's the challenge. How likely is it Rob Pelinka and crew will find the right mix? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers are auditioning free agents. What it means, in the micro and the macro.
