Today Patty is joined by Jeannie Spiro, a friend and business peer. They are doing a two-part interview. This is part one and part two will air on Jeannie's show, The Midlife CEO podcast. Jeannie is a wife, mom, former sales professional and Business Strategist. She's on a mission to help women coaches and service-based business owners create a passion driven, multiple 6 or 7-figure business they love – at midlife. Patty asked Jeannie to share her personal weight-loss journey. This is something she embraced during the pandemic. After a great 2019 and a successful live events, she knew something needed to change. First up, Jeannie shares how she asked the Universe for help, a new way to approach her business and her life. Answers showed up, and she began losing weight, and everything else shifted too! “In order to make a change, I needed to shift everything as a whole” Two big questions she asked herself “what do I need to change to live well and what's possible?” Jeannie teaches how to use events and workshops to fill your signature program. It worked well, and she traveled to support her clients. When travel wasn't possible (and live events were all cancelled) she opened up to other ways for her to serve. She realized that it's still important to help others get their message out to the world. Not being able to do that for while made her realize how much she missed the work, and more importantly missed serving. Patty and Jeannie both love to speak, on stage in front of a live audience. You've got to hear how they break down what works, what's powerful and how to find the right groove for you. Jeannie explains the 3 talks she helps her clients. Preview talk Interview talk Sales presentation talk How can you maximize and optimize all the strategies in your business? That's Jeannie's zone of genius! Is in-person more powerful? They discuss the options and what works. Jeannie shares that you have to lean into what you're willing to do (very helpful!) and then figure out how to maximize that. Hear how Jeannie realized that she sometimes blocked receiving. It was wrapped up in pleasing others and always wanting to give. These things helped her make an impact, but at times, kept her from being open to receiving from others. They dive into more of the components of receiving in part two. Today Patty is talking with Gahrey Ovalle author, activist, and serial entrepreneur. After listening to his interview on her publisher's podcast, Patty knew she had to talk to him. There is a lot to encourage all of us to see where and how we can create change. He encourages people to say less and do more. Gahrey realized that he was repeating the same actions, which meant the same problems continued to show up. That's when he figured out that he had to make changes if he wanted his life to be different. Gahrey and Patty talk about leadership and how people come to step into positions of leadership. You don't have to be the biggest voice in the room to impact change. Gahrey believes that all of us can be a leader. He shares how his mom showed him it was possible by stepping up as a leader when he was growing up. Self-reflection is key to making changes in our lives. We have to be willing to face the things that aren't easy. That's how we can address what's hurting us and design better outcomes. What does it mean to grow forward and give back? Patty and Gahrey talk about how to help their children address their limiting beliefs. As parents, there's a great opportunity to help them make good choices. It's a way to help them move past generational patterns. Don't miss the part of the conversation where they discuss race. Gahrey reminds us that we have the choice to grow together, or we will continue to grow apart. Conversations about race, bias, and inequality impacts all of us, no matter our ethnicity. Gahrey also explains how to begin having these conversations with our children. He encourages everyone to extend grace to yourself. You don't have to be perfect or have all the answers. What does it mean to be an advocate? This is something all of us, can join with others who are looking to make changes in our communities. More About Gahrey: Gahrey Ovalle is an author, activist and serial entrepreneur who has spent more than 20 years building successful six-and-seven-figure companies for himself and others. He now teaches people the art of living remarkable, purposeful, happy lives while erring on the side of personal well-being, financial security, and growth. Gahrey is passionate about leveraging personal transformation and development to create generational and professional wealth. Through his activism and entrepreneurship, he has strived to heal and strengthen Black and Brown communities for almost 25 years. With his book Unjustified, he provides insights so that others are able to find their own success for themselves, their families, and their communities. He encourages people to “say less and do more” because conversation is good, but action is gold! Today Patty shares the 5th rule of Receiving. It’s one of the things that can provide space for people to co-create with the universe. This episode will help you see how easy it can be to “do your part” and allow the Divine to do the rest. Do your 100%. Did you know that most of us can (and will) do about 97% of our 100%? It’s that last three percent that stops us. It’s often the part that requires growth. It’s in doing that work that allows the universe to bring us what we desire. It sets the stage for us to receive. Patty shares that you can’t do it wrong. When you do your 100%, when you show up despite your fear or challenges, the universe will do the rest. Will it work for me? This is an incredible insight. Patty explains that the fear around or the desire to be seen and valued means we need to feel safe. We need to know we are worthy. When you’re doing this work, it’s not always a flash of insight (though that can happen) it can sometimes be moving into a calm confident place of “enough”. You are enough. There is nothing you need to be or do or have to deserve the love and support from the universe. It’s here for all of us. All the time.
Today Patty talks with Laura Sprinkle about courage. Facing change and being open to receiving isn’t always easy. That’s when we all reach for our inner strength. Laura’s energy is contagious. You’ve got to hear about her dance parties! The conversation is a great listen. Laura graciously shares how she’s come to step out from behind the scenes working for others, to changing from her one very successful business to a new version. Hear how she realized that she knew she had to make this change. Hint: it had to do with how she saw herself and it was a big aha. Asking for help. Why is that such a hard thing for many of us to do? Laura talks about life as an experiment as a way to grow confidence and gain courage. Final thoughts: Every single day do something to remind yourself how awesome you are. Hear how Laura does this for herself; it’s an easy thing any of us can do. Join the Upcoming Bootcamp Laura’s Website
Today Patty shares the magic behind how the Receiving School started. The understanding of the receiving method started 8 years ago when Patty was helping her mom through her journey with cancer. She shares how receiving started with accepting the anger and pain around her passing. It was the first step of understanding what it really means to receive. It freed Patty to truly grasp what matters in life. Patty was guided to create the Receiving School. Trusting that the universe would care for her in all ways gave her courage to create this course. Receiving is the heart of what comes when you practice the receiving method. Are you open to receiving? If this resonates with you, check out Patty’s training and the Receiving School. “This is what we all should have been taught when we were children but weren’t.” Jen Liddy (Receiving School Member) Join The Receiving School Get the Receiving Method Training Laura Hitchcock
Whether you call them toxic individuals or the more colorful “energy vampires,” people who suck the energy from you are problematic for so many of us. So how do you clear that toxic energy and also protect your own space so that you’re not dragged down as well? Today Patty shares several methods to bolster and strengthen your energy field, including three practical, health-based tips, three boundary-setting techniques and a “metaphysical hack” to build or restore a light field around you if you find yourself in a situation that’s draining. Protecting your energy field and upholding your own positive energy is one of the most important practices to maintain your well-being, especially during these unsteady times. And what makes it more important is that we often don’t realize it’s being tapped by energy vampires. Stay tuned: a new product is on the way, as well as a new training that arrives in mid-October. Today Patty is tackling a difficult topic. In today’s world we often sense an us verses them energy. She’s taking a personal look into a horrifying event that happened several weeks ago. Last week, video of a murder became public. Patty is sharing her insights as a white woman, a mom, and a human being. How can we (as a society) ensure the safety of our children? Injustice has always existed. That doesn’t make it right, or defensible. When we experience or view injustice our reaction is often helplessness. How can one person (any one of us) make a difference when the issues are so large, so complex, and so hurtful? If there’s a path forward, it will come from love. If you’ve wondered what you can do, or if you should do anything this episode is for you. Resources Mentioned: African American Policy Forum NAACP We Are Done Dying
Today Patty shares messages from Coronavirus. Admittedly this sounds a bit out there and she knows some will think this is too much. She’s sharing it because it’s what is on her heart and she is looking to be helpful. Others who have hard part of these messages found the information valuable and encouraged Patty to share it with others. One thing that was shared: when the virus connects with love, it mutates in a positive way. When it connects with hate, then it mutates in a way that’s negative. When Patty shares the term “mutate” it’s in relation to the energy of the virus. This isn’t about good vs. bad. People who contract the virus have not brought this to their body via negative thoughts. It’s not about blame. Other messages: It’s okay to feel how you are feeling about the virus (encouraged in fact) The virus as an archetype (this is a good way to frame things) Her vision of humanity’s response We are all equal. No one person is responsible or to blame Love is the power of change Everyone is impacted in different ways. Mother earth is impacted too. As you listen, stay where you are. Process what’s most alive for you. That’s your journey. Email Patty: patty@pattylennon.com

Patty shares a bit of her personal understanding of the Christmas story as she understands it. As a mom, the story of the birth of Jesus in a stable, with only Joseph to help brings a new realization of how hard that must have been. Today Patty acknowledges that every birth brings a death and death also brings a birth. In today’s world, we tend to see things as either good or bad. But that’s not how life truly works. This episode brings hope for all of us. Experiencing a loss or birthing something new brings its own blessings. Learning to honor that part of your experience can bring balance to your life. As we move into a new decade Patty shares hope that we honor all the blessings of life. She ends with a call to acknowledge the beauty of life and all your dreams and hopes for what is yet to come
Today Patty shares some universal truths on the podcast. Everyone, no matter where you are on your journey, deals with fear, doubt and worry. If you’ve used those things as proof that you can’t sell, or aren’t doing it “right”, today’s podcast is for you. A few years ago, Patty held a conference when she wasn’t known, and didn’t have a big list. A few months before the event, she wasn’t sure that the room would be full. Talk about fear and doubt! She shares how the shift from selling to serving made her fear disappear. Listen to find out how you can use the energy of serving instead of the energy of selling to gain new clients on your terms. Today Patty shares a story about moving forward. This experience is related to her father’s passing and handling his estate. She found 9 dealer issued keys for her dad’s car. This was her mom’s doing. She always wanted the confidence of a back-up key. When a key was left in a coat pocket, she’d go get a new one, just in case. Patty shares how she sees this play out with prospective clients. It’s something that we all do. For you, it might not be a key. It might be the need for another class, or certification. Where are you putting conditions on moving forward? Hear how to recognize this pattern and see it for what it is. Patty outlines what to do to get past the need for your missing key. Don’t miss the final 5 minutes where Patty breaks down how this impacts how we sell and offer value. This can be the key to putting forward your absolute best. What do you truly want? What’s holding you back from getting it? Is it a real thing, or are you waiting for the comfort of a back-up key?
Today Patty takes on the concept of getting to the next level. When we’re talking about this concept we’re usually talking about tangible results. More money, more clients, more opportunities. Of course, there’s nothing wrong any of those things. Our soul’s yearnings are important, and Patty explains why we shouldn’t ignore them. She also shares how to recognize when it’s what we really desire instead of what we think comes next. What can you do when the “next level” isn’t exciting anymore? It’s a sign that you need to make adjustments. Listen for her practical, next-leveling advice. Connect with Patty: patty@pattylennon.com
Today Patty continues the conversation about dropping into flow. She brought it up in last week’s episode about enjoying the summer (or any season) and staying in flow so you can enjoy all the things happening in your life. Not into the “woo” like Patty? Neither is her husband, so you’ll want to hear how he figured out the best way to take advantage of flow in his life. If you’re into the metaphysical, you might even see yourself in this example. Be sure to hear the 3 actionable steps that Patty shares. This is something will help you in all kinds of situations. Bonus: Hear the key question that you can ask yourself to find your personal flow. Episode 44 When I Wish I’d Done More.
Today Patty talks about something we all experience now and then; the feeling that we should have done more. This can be a form of sabotage. Patty shares personal stories of how this has affected her and others in her life. A worker at their home impacted her husband during a routine interaction and that in turn impacted her. Yet, the man who is responsible for the inspiration has no idea. What’s important to know is that you have no idea how you impact others, but you do. The world needs more you! It’s not about doing more; it’s about being more you any time you can. She also shares key suggestions about how to recognize when/where you can do more and how to manage your personal expectations. Patty shares how to find out where your gifts can be used and the way to know what we’re most aligned to solve.
Today Patty shares what to do when you feel like quitting. When everything feels like it’s taking more than you can give. The spring energy comes with the spirit of renewal and new beginnings and fresh starts. But some of you may be coming out of the winter feeling tired and exhausted. The idea of starting a new thing can feel like complete overwhelm. If you’re feeling that way, it’s a message for you. Patty shares how to understand and get to the root cause. Patty shares what will. It’s time to honor your feelings and pay attention to what you need. This podcast will help you find the way back to a place of energy and renewal.
