Setting boundaries takes strength, resilience, and courage. It can often feel like a daunting task when you may have been a people pleaser in the past. You have made a commitment to yourself when you chose to have bariatric surgery and part of that is making health and wellness a priority, which means making YOURSELF a priority for possibly the first time in your life. We will discuss what is in and out of your control and how to identify when a boundary needs to be set. Join us to navigate real life scenarios that are applicable to your new lifestyle as we reveal helpful phrases to communicate limits with others and how to stay true to yourself in the event a boundary is crossed. Part of setting healthy boundaries may entail engaging a new support team as you embark on this new lifestyle. Maybe you're experiencing less support from friends and family than you expected. What can be done in these situations to maintain those relationships but still ensure your health and wellbeing is your priority BIO: Lauren Kosman, ReShapeCare® Program Specialist Lauren is an experienced professional in the health and wellness field having worked as a Health Coach and Health Educator. She has coached clients focused on improving chronic conditions, preventative lifestyle factors and overall lifestyle modifications to support holistic health and a balanced way of life. She has a bachelor's degree in health & human physiology from the University of Iowa and is a Certified Personal Trainer with a specialized certificate in Nutrition. The transformations she has seen are nothing short of amazing and life changing and often the nonscale victories are the greatest highlight – such as members being able to actively engage in their favorite activities with their family, feeling confident in their own skin, and practicing self-love and selfcare by making their well-being a priority for possibly the first time. Lauren finds this extremely motivating and a good reminder behind the ‘why' of working in the wellness industry. It's all about connection, growth, and extending support and guidance so members can live their best life and become their own best coach. Lauren resides in California and enjoys traveling and getting outdoors to hike.
